The ultimate pancake. I came all the way to Kyoto just to confirm it, because they must be really confident to put it on the menu. The store is on the second floor. The smell of pancakes even reaches the first floor. I climbed the stairs, thinking that some people must be lured in by this smell. Luckily, I didn't have to wait in line and got in, ordered the pancakes right away! Of course, I also had some tea. After about 20 minutes of waiting, feeling a bit drowsy from the atmosphere... My companion fell asleep, but I endured. Here it comes! The ultimate pancake! I took the first bite... Wow, it's delicious! It's my favorite taste so far. My companion also had the same reaction. We enjoyed the taste that truly lives up to the name "ultimate" and our spirits were lifted! I didn't even care about the price. Because, you know, I just love it!

I ordered the Ultimate Pancake Big Size Set (1980 yen) with a side of red tea, choosing the "Kyoto Gion scent." I don't usually drink flavored tea, but the red tea had a nice taste. The pancakes were moist and the syrup added a perfect juiciness. The taste was amazing, but considering the cost, I would rate it 3.3. Additionally, the acrylic board for COVID-19 prevention made it a bit difficult to hear, which was a small downside.

I went there specifically for the hotcakes, but they also had Murasena tea so I ordered a set with tea. The hotcakes were soaked in tea syrup, which made me a bit hesitant, but it turned out to be delicious without the tea flavor being too strong. I ended up pouring a lot of syrup on them because they were so tasty. I liked the texture of the batter as well. The tea had a fruity aroma and was consistently delicious. Overall, the prices were a bit high, but that's to be expected in Gion.

I came to Kyoto wearing a kimono today, heading towards Gion on Shijo Street. In the second floor of the renowned Kyoto cotton fabric store "Eirakuya," there is a café called Hosotsuji-ee TEA HOUSE supported by MLESNA, where you can enjoy tea from Sri Lanka's Mlesna company. The cozy space has a unique blend of jazz music, soft lighting, and framed paintings and handkerchiefs from Eirakuya. I ordered the Kyoto Gion-scented hot flavored tea for 880 yen, which comes with a traditional Japanese sweet called "Ochoma." The tea has a blend of jasmine, melon, raspberry, and banana, creating a fruity and floral aroma that is both uplifting and relaxing. The tea pot, cup, sweet, and sugar pot were served, and the staff poured a little into the cup. The tea can be enjoyed for 3-4 cups. The "Ochoma" sweet has a delicate sweetness that melts in your mouth. Although the various pancakes here are also famous and look delicious, I didn't have room in my stomach today. I'll have to try them next time!

It was very calm and cute, with adorable small items and decorations on the walls. I thought it was a shop that girls would like. I had been wanting to try the matcha pancakes here for a long time... I ordered the tea set. I chose a flavored tea called Maron Paris, which had a strong scent of chestnut and caramel, giving it a sweet taste. The pancakes I had been looking forward to... I ordered the regular size, and they were quite satisfying! The green color inside was really beautiful. The matcha flavor was rich and intense! Just what I was looking for! The combination with the tea was really good. My friend ordered a tea called Kyoto Shijo Fragrance, which had a luxurious feel and seemed to go well with the pancakes. I highly recommend it for a date!

After lunch on March 11, we went to Hosotsuji-TEA HOUSE for tea. The establishment is operated by Eiraku-ya, known as Japan's oldest cotton cloth merchant. The 14th generation owner, Ihei Hosotsuji, is a well-known entrepreneur even on TV. His title as a "Tea-nugrapher" is quite interesting. We visited with a bit of skepticism about what a cafe run by a "Tea-nugrapher" would be like, but both the tea and pancakes were of a level that could be considered as specialty shops. It was delicious.

Inside the shop, there are 4 tables and several seats at the counter. They serve tea in pots, with varieties inspired by Gion and Shijo in Kyoto.

Visited with a friend. We were guided to a spacious table, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time. Since we had made a reservation and our order exceeded 3000 yen, we were able to have free-flowing tea. There were several types of tea that caught our attention, so it was great to be able to try them all. Although the pancakes were described as being for sharing between 2-3 people, both my friend and I managed to finish our large portions. The cream was fluffy and not too sweet, and the maple syrup was generously provided, making it a satisfying dish.

I was able to drink about 4 cups of black tea, so it was good!
