On my last night staying in the Kujou area, I decided to try a nearby ramen shop. I was tempted by the word "beef tendons," so I ordered that. The beef tendons were like firm gelatin that gradually melted in the hot soup. It was a unique and enjoyable experience. The ramen itself had a traditional Kansai-style taste, which felt nostalgic. Overall, it was delicious.

Today I worked at Toji Temple again, and since there weren't many dining options nearby, I decided to take a walk towards Kujo area and stumbled upon Sanko Restaurant for the first time. I ordered the set menu with ramen and mini fried rice, which came with two servings. I noticed that I could add extra green onions, and they quickly accommodated my request - how thoughtful! The ramen had a nostalgic and gentle flavor, with hints of fish stock that I couldn't quite pinpoint. The fried rice was a bit sticky, but surprisingly delicious! It had a simple and homely taste, almost like something my mom would make. I really liked the old-school Chinese restaurant vibe here, and I would definitely recommend it. Thank you for the meal!

When I travel, I often think about wanting to eat familiar foods. While popular restaurants with long lines are appealing, when I see a shop that has been in the local area for a long time, I can't resist going in. This particular shop is run by a father and mother, and after 12 o'clock, their daughter seems to take over. It's a family-run business! The first time I visited, I tried the soy sauce ramen set menu, which was priced at 850 yen including half fried rice. The ramen looked gentle and had a variety of flavors like pork bone and fish stock. It wasn't too strong in pork bone flavor, but had a light and delicious soy sauce taste. The noodles were medium-thick straight noodles that paired well with the soup. The fried rice had a traditional taste and I was completely satisfied with my lunch! Thank you for the meal!

The restaurant has a retro feel, both in its appearance and interior. I ordered a set of ramen and fried rice. The ramen broth was quite salty, to the point where it seemed like a mistake in the seasoning. On the other hand, the fried rice was quite bland. Even after rinsing my tongue with water and trying it again, it still tasted mild. The restaurant was almost full and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals, so I couldn't tell if it was just my order that was off or if it was my taste buds. It was a mystery.

Hello, it's 4Nyokki🖐️ This time, I visited Sankyoko Restaurant, which I found when I went to eat Daiei Ramen last time. The restaurant opened at 11:30. There were many counter seats, and there was a TV in the back, giving the place a cozy izakaya-like atmosphere. There were about 4 types of ramen, but this time I ordered the ramen with fried rice set. The ramen (regular) had a light-colored pork bone soy sauce broth. When I took a sip of the soup, it was light and seemed like a salt ramen. The flavor of clam broth came through, making it a salty soup. Next, the noodles. They were curly noodles. It's been a while since I've had them. They were delicious, and they mixed well with the soup. I added some pepper from the counter, and it felt like a good balance. The chashu was thinly sliced, old-fashioned, and you could feel the texture of the meat. At this point, the fried rice arrived. It was the kind of fried rice cooked in an iron pot, with that distinct iron flavor, and it was delicious with pickled ginger on the side. I enjoyed adding mustard miso, garlic, nori, and boiled egg to the noodles, and I savored the meal until the end. An elderly couple was running the place together, and it was heartwarming to see. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Sanko Restaurant, which I had been curious about for a while. The exterior and interior have a nostalgic atmosphere. I ordered the soy sauce ramen and fried rice set (A set) as well as the miso ramen. The soy sauce ramen had a rich yet light soy sauce flavor, reminiscent of old-fashioned soy sauce ramen. The miso ramen also had a rich miso flavor and was delicious. The fried rice was a bit salty, not the fluffy type. I would like to visit again as they have other menu items. Thank you for the meal!

Located near Kujo Station! It has a traditional appearance. Ramen is ¥700, with a pork bone base and a strong umami flavor. It tastes light but has a rich depth. Another recommended option is the Beef Tendon Ramen for ¥900. It is full of collagen!

I arrived at 7:30 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020. It was my first time here. I came for some pre-year-end party meal. I ordered ramen and it was incredibly delicious. It made my mouth happy. I am very satisfied and full of happiness. There are various other menu items that I want to try. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calming. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back. I express my gratitude to all the ingredients in this world. Calling all delicious foods♪ The more you eat, the more power you overflow♪

After work today, I went to this ramen shop in search of some delicious noodles. I parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot and arrived at the shop around 8:30 PM. I was seated at a table and looked at the menu posted on the wall. They had two types of ramen - soy sauce ramen and Hakata ramen, as well as four set menu options. I ordered the A set (850 yen) which came with fried rice (small) and added char siu ramen (150 yen). The bowl that was brought to me was filled with plenty of char siu, flavored egg, chopped green onions, and seaweed. The soup, described on the menu as "rich soup with various ingredients including pork bone and bonito flakes," had a gentle and savory taste with a hint of soy sauce, although the smell of pork bone and bonito flakes was not strong. The noodles were chewy and had a good texture, pairing well with the soup. The char siu was lean and flavorful, adding a nice touch to each bite. The fried rice, although a bit more than a small portion, had a fragrant burnt oil flavor and a slightly sticky texture, which I found very delicious. It was a different taste experience from the usual clear pork bone soy sauce ramen in Kyoto, but I really enjoyed the old-fashioned and tasty Chinese noodles.

It was a ramen that suited my taste. It's a soy sauce-based ramen with a clear broth, quite light in flavor. It's a traditional Chinese noodle soup style ramen. I think it might not appeal to those who are into trying different ramen flavors. They might say it's bland, lacking in umami. However, I never get tired of this type of ramen. That's why I think it's loved by the locals. I came to Kyoto after a long time and found this place near my accommodation, so I decided to try it without any prior research. It's an old-fashioned ramen shop in a nostalgic atmosphere, which gives a sense of comfort. I ordered the following: Ramen 650 yen (tax included) Kimchi 200 yen (tax included) Total 850 yen (tax included) Quite cheap. It's just a 1-minute walk from Kujo Station on the subway, and I was surprised by the price. Maybe because it's an old shop that has already covered its location costs? As I mentioned at the beginning, the soup is a light soy sauce-based broth with a delicate umami flavor. The noodles are thin and slightly soft, reminiscent of the Showa era with weak elasticity. Yes, this type of soft noodles goes well with this soup. The toppings are normal - half-boiled egg, 2 slices of chashu, seaweed, and bamboo shoots, but for this type of ramen, I feel that normal toppings are better balanced and suitable than fancy ones. The kimchi is a rare type with a slightly watery texture. When I tried it, it wasn't very spicy, but it had a stronger umami flavor leaning towards a Japanese taste. I personally like this type of kimchi as well. It might be considered unconventional by those who love spicy food. I really love these kinds of down-to-earth ramen shops that are trying their best with affordable prices. This review might be a bit biased towards my personal preferences, so it may not be useful to others, but I hope you understand.

This is also a visit record from 2018. In April 2018, I visited "Daikoku" for the first time, and ended up going back for more. I had been wanting to visit for a while but the location made it difficult to get to. After doing some research, I found out that "Daikoku" used to be "Takaraya" located near Hachijo-guchi. I never visited "Takaraya" so I can't compare the two, but apparently they are quite different. "Takaraya" was often confused with another ramen shop called "Takaraya" that no longer exists. The current Daikoku seems to have a lot of old fans. Despite the name sounding like a Chinese restaurant, ramen is their main focus and it's quite unique for Kyoto. The soup has a combination of pork bone and jaw broth, giving it a subtle sweetness and a delicious flavor that slowly unfolds. I feel like I need to try more of their dishes to fully appreciate this place.

I feel like having ramen after drinking (^^;; After going to a yakitori restaurant, my friends and I ended up going to a ramen shop.

This shop is located near Kujo Station. It used to be an izakaya, but somehow it has become a ramen shop. Or maybe it's just my imagination???
The Hakata ramen had a deliciously milky soup. It was easy to drink and had a light taste, perfect for after drinking. We ended up staying until closing time. They also had other varieties like beef tendon ramen, making it a diverse ramen shop.

Ramen for 650 yen in a lightly raining Kyoto. The humid heat is suffocating. After a meeting, I chugged a canned chu-hi from the convenience store. Then I walked from Kyoto Station down Kawaramachi Street to Kujo Station. Across from the popular Sakura Terrace Hotel, there is an old-fashioned ramen shop. Despite the many famous ramen shops near the station, I chose this one after seeing the photos on Tabelog. It was past 6:30 PM and the shop was empty. I was seated at a table near the entrance and ordered the recommended ramen with firm noodles, extra green onions, and plenty of pork fat. The bowl arrived in about 5 minutes. It had a boiled egg, chashu, green onions, bamboo shoots, and roasted seaweed. I took a sip of the soup covered in pork fat. It had a nostalgic soy sauce flavor, simple and unpretentious. It might not be enough for those used to modern ramen, but it falls into the category of being quite tasty. The cost performance is good, and it's surprising that there aren't many reviews. Of course, I finished every last bit of noodles and soup. It's nice that there's no need to worry about long lines and crowds during these times.

Visit on Friday, June 8, after 12 PM. There were two customers. Finally made it here for lunch. A colleague asked me if I had been to this restaurant before, and I had to admit that I didn't know this place! So, I had to come and check it out. I saw recommendations for the beef tendon ramen here, so that's what I ordered. You can choose the firmness of the noodles, but I only realized that after finishing my meal. My impression is that while the beef tendon is indeed a unique feature, the taste was just average...a bit disappointing.

After eating and drinking, I had a finishing ramen. When I entered the restaurant, there were male customers who had just finished work, and about 50% of the seats were filled. Orders were taken directly at the counter for a set of fried chicken and miso ramen. I heard from a friend in Kyoto that "when eating ramen, you should also order fried chicken," so I ordered it right away. The ramen, miso ramen, and fried chicken arrived in about 5 minutes. A little later, the rice also arrived. The noodles were slightly thin straight noodles. The soup was a tonkotsu-based soy sauce ramen, which was very well-balanced and delicious. The miso ramen had a special spicy miso, but the spiciness seemed a bit overpowering. The fried chicken consisted of 4 pieces that were slightly larger than bite-sized, making it a bit filling after eating and drinking. I had imagined a crispy coating, but the texture was the opposite. It was my first time trying fried chicken in Kansai, so I'm not sure if this is authentic. Further investigation is needed.
