I visited Avanti's P Dining for the first time in a while. I ordered today's special, Chicken Karaage and Coleslaw Terimayo Omelette Rice in jumbo size (+200 yen) with a drink set, choosing Ginger Ale. With a Line coupon, the drink was free. The jumbo size had 350g of rice and 3 eggs, I think. The inside was butter rice, not ketchup rice, which was nice. The karaage was small and crispy, with 3 pieces served fresh. There was plenty of coleslaw, so you can get your veggies even without ordering a salad set. Personally, I could do without the coleslaw, haha. The Terimayo sauce wasn't too much, but it tasted great with the karaage. I also noticed the daily doria, which looked tempting. It was lunchtime and most places were crowded, but this place was empty and I was able to get in right away. I will visit again, thank you for the meal.

A restaurant located inside Avanti near Kyoto Station. I wanted to have tea near Kyoto Station but it was crowded so I came here. I ordered a cafe au lait and cake. Both were safe in taste, but the atmosphere was not too noisy, making it a good place to relax and have a conversation.

This is a Western food specialty restaurant located in the basement of Kyoto Avanti. I sat at a small table in the back right of the cozy interior. It wasn't too crowded even during dinner time, so I could enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace. I ordered the Hamburg Steak Combo for 1280 yen (excluding tax). Surprisingly, the shrimp fry stood out more than the hamburger. The buttered potato was a nice touch. The juicy and meaty hamburger paired well with the crispy shrimp fry. It tasted even better when I squeezed some lemon slices and dipped it in the sauce. The popular menu item seems to be the Omu-Hayashi Rice. I'll try that next time I visit.

At Kyoto Station, I went to the restaurant area at Kyoto Avanti with my family of three for lunch. It had been a while since I last visited, and I noticed that some of the shops had changed. We chose a restaurant that seemed kid-friendly. The menu had a variety of Western-style dishes like omurice. I ordered a Japanese-style omurice, my companion ordered the "adult lunch" version of the kids' lunch, and we also got pancakes for the child to share. The food was as expected, but still delicious. The adult lunch had a good amount of food and a nice touch of creativity. Overall, there were no major negatives, so I would consider revisiting to try other dishes if the timing works out.

I visited around 19:30 on a regular day. There were three other customers visible. I ordered the Fresh Salad Set for 890 yen and upgraded the Smoll Omelette Rice for an additional 100 yen, with a soup set for another 100 yen, totaling 1090 yen plus tax. The Omelette Rice was with Hayashi sauce, which was more like a white sauce rather than the usual Hayashi sauce. It tasted more like a not-so-authentic chicken curry. The salad I chose was supposed to be German Potato Salad, but it was just potato salad with bacon flakes. The soup was average, but seemed a bit overpriced at 100 yen. Overall, the portion size was generous and I left feeling full.

We had a meeting on the 7th floor and afterwards we went for a late lunch at an omelette rice restaurant in Avanti basement. The menu had a lot of options and was very reasonably priced. My husband ordered the "Paku Paku Lunch" for ¥780 (excluding tax), which included a choice of omelette rice, gratin, or pasta, as well as a choice of soft drink, soup, or salad. He chose ketchup omelette rice and iced coffee. The omelette rice looked and tasted normal, but the portion was surprisingly generous for the price. I also ordered the "Paku Paku Lunch" and chose the Tuna Corn Cream Omelette Rice. It was a bit different from the usual omelette rice, but I found it to be just okay. The combination of tuna and cream was a bit too rich for my taste. Our daughter ordered the "Cake Drink Set" for ¥540 (excluding tax) which included a Gâteau Chocolat cake with a hefty amount of whipped cream. Perhaps the restaurant caters more to young girls with its offerings. Overall, the restaurant was affordable, served generous portions, and had a good variety of set options.

Last time I couldn't eat the ketchup rice so this time I ordered cheese omelette rice! I asked for a large portion but it was smaller than last time... The ketchup flavor is weak and the cheese is strong, I can't tell if the cheese is overpowering the ketchup flavor or not, but I wish it had more ketchup flavor. The ketchup rice had very little ingredients, so I wish they would put more effort into it! It was a bit disappointing.

While wandering around at lunchtime, I stumbled upon a restaurant where I could eat omurice! I love omurice, so I ordered the daily special jumbo size because it wasn't too expensive. When it arrived, it was quite large! It was called Terimayo Omurice, so the presentation was a bit different. However, a major mistake was discovered - the rice inside was not mixed with ketchup... I regret not ordering the regular omurice. It was difficult to eat, so I started with the salad and then ate the fried chicken, which seemed like it was store-bought. The buttered rice-like filling without any ingredients was quite intense. I didn't like the Terimayo Omurice, but I will come back next time to try the regular omurice!

I was surprised to see the menu - it's so cheap! They offer a variety of dishes like omurice, gratin, omelettes, and appetizers, all at very reasonable prices. I ordered fried chicken cartilage, cheese-in-hayashi omurice, cheese-in-hayashi omelette, and chorizo sausages, all for just a little over 2,000 yen! This amount for this price at Kyoto Station is incredibly cheap. The omelette was like scrambled eggs with cheese and plenty of hayashi sauce inside. The portions were satisfying, especially the omelette, so the omurice with extra ketchup rice would definitely make you full. The chorizo sausages were small, six in total. While they weren't exceptionally delicious, they were satisfying for the price, and all the dishes had rich flavors that would be appealing to children.

I visited with my family. Before returning to Kyoto, we stopped for a quick drink. My family had plum wine on the rocks, while I had hot water with sweet potato shochu. For snacks, we had dried fish with mountain pepper (290 yen) and raw scallops with balsamic vinegar (490 yen). Overall, we were satisfied with the cost-performance, service, and dishes. The dried fish with mountain pepper had a nice spicy flavor and was a great snack. The raw scallops with balsamic vinegar were thick and delicious. I wish we had more time to spend there. I would like to visit again.

The atmosphere was retro and there were many customers during lunchtime, but I was able to enjoy my meal in a calm manner. The omurice for today's lunch had a gentle flavor and was delicious, I finished it in no time. However, the portion might be a bit too much for women.

The portion was large and I am full! The cost performance was good.

I love omurice and tofu, so it was amazing!

Steamed chicken and Kyoto Mizuna with Japanese tomato sauce omelette rice♪ Chocolate & Berry Deluxe Parfait♪

Before talking about the taste, I was surprised to find a smoking allowed restaurant these days. Is Kyoto like that? The smoke was so thick, it was surprising. I had been on a bus for a long time and wasn't feeling well, so I thought I could eat here. I ordered the Kyoto-style omelette rice since I came all the way here. But then suddenly there was so much smoke. It's underground, full of smoke, nowhere to escape, supposed to relax and have lunch... but my clothes smelled and I felt really tired. I wish the restaurant had a sign that says prominently, "There is a risk of passive smoking."

On the final day of our stay in Kyoto, we went to Kyoto Station to buy some typical Kyoto souvenirs in the morning. After finishing most of our shopping, we all had lunch together at a restaurant in Avanti, located at the Hachijo-guchi exit of Kyoto Station. The restaurant we randomly chose was a bit sketchy-looking. It was called P Dining and it was located in the underground restaurant area of Avanti. Avanti used to be a popular commercial facility that suddenly appeared in 1984, revitalizing the previously quiet Hachijo-guchi area of Kyoto Station. The bookstore on the 6th floor was particularly famous and attracted many visitors. However, in recent years, with the redevelopment of the main entrance of Kyoto Station at Karasuma-guchi, Avanti has seen fewer visitors. The area has become more lively with the opening of department stores like Isetan and electronic retailers like Bic Camera. As for the food, I ordered the Kyoto-style Omu-rice with Kyoto yuba (tofu skin), tofu, and shredded mountain pepper sauce for 950 yen. Although it didn't look as pretty as the photo on the sign, it tasted like a cross between Omu-rice and Tenshinhan (sweet and sour pork over rice). The sauce had a hint of Chinese flavor, perhaps due to the tofu in it. Overall, it was delicious, but more reminiscent of Tenshinhan than traditional Omu-rice. I enjoyed it nonetheless, as I also love Tenshinhan.

I visited the restaurant in June 2017 for dinner. Avanti is a place where shops change frequently. I wasn't sure if there was a similar restaurant before, but I decided to go in. They offer various types of omurice and doria. I was drawn to the Kyoto Omurice. I ordered the Yuba and Tofu Omurice (S) for 734 yen and added soup for 108 yen. There are several types of omurice using Kyoto ingredients. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is dark. It would be better if it were a bit brighter. Even though there were many empty table seats, I was seated at a dark counter seat when I said I was dining alone. The food was okay in terms of taste, but not particularly delicious. I wish the soup had more effort put into it. I heard that the Avanti card will end in September 2017. With the renewal of Kyoto Tower, Avanti at Hachijo-guchi may become even quieter. It feels a bit disappointing. I also recommend the Avanti at Hachijo-guchi.
