The restaurant is located on a corner just off National Route 178, so it's easy to find. The entrance may be a bit hard to spot. The interior is dimly lit, creating a unique atmosphere that can make you easily tipsy (in a good way, in my opinion). The place mainly focuses on drinks rather than food, and I enjoyed savoring Miyazaki shochu, which I really liked. The owner, who seemed to be a motorcycle enthusiast, added to the charm of the place. Originally, it seemed to be a traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant, and the food was delicious (they also operate a restaurant called Uozan). This review is for the bar next door (UoZEN). Apologies for any confusion...

When it comes to traditional Japanese restaurants in Miyazu City, "Uozan" is the place to go! They serve delicious seafood and mountain delicacies from Wakasa Bay and Tango. The spacious main hall is perfect for banquets. They also offer a variety of local sake such as "Kyoharu" from Ine Town and "Yosamon" from Yosa District. It's located about a 10-minute walk from Miyazu Station. Today, I had the pleasure of dining here. The meal started with an appetizer platter including shirako (milt), local beans from Tango, and shishamo fish eggs. I enjoyed sake such as "Amanohashidate ni Youkinatta" and "Shiraito" while savoring the fresh sashimi of guji (red sea bream), a high-class fish in season. The grilled dish featured a rare delicacy called inezu (golden threadfin bream) that you can only find in traditional Japanese restaurants. I also tried the Odemaki steamed dish, a specialty from Osaka with fluffy egg and smooth udon noodles. The course menu ranges from 6,000 yen, and during winter, they offer a special course featuring Matsubagani (snow crab). It was a night of indulging in rare delicacies from the Japan Sea, and I left fully satisfied. (First visit in September 2013)

It is about a 10-minute walk from Miyazu Station. Just cross the signal on Route 178 west of the commercial facility Mipple. The shop is located at a corner in an alley, and the entrance is a bit hard to find. However, once inside, there is a chic counter and chair seats, with a tatami seating area in the back that can accommodate about 10 people. The food mainly uses local ingredients and is generally lightly seasoned. In particular, the simmered small "Ishidai" fish caught locally was delicious with the flavors well infused. They also offer a variety of local sake from nearby breweries, which was enjoyable to drink. The service was good and overall it was a restaurant that left a favorable impression.
