It was a very delicious tofu course that was satisfying. I ordered the Shimizu course. Every menu included tofu, yuba, and wheat gluten, which was a pleasant surprise. The grilled items, in particular, were enjoyable and tasty. Personally, I liked the miso-marinated tofu the most. I wish the service operation was a bit smoother.

On the evening of July 2023, after completing all the missions, what to do? Feeling hungry. What to eat? Before that, let's take a short walk in Kyoto... There's no need to walk slowly, even if it's a bit hot, since we're in the ancient capital. So, taking a little time for a stroll. Watching the float practice in Kawaramachi, crossing the Kamo River, glancing at Pontocho, and then heading to Yasaka Shrine via Hanamikoji, and finally to the Five-story Pagoda. This is roughly a 2-hour walking course. As it started raining, we decided to go to the restaurant we saw earlier. Of course, we confirmed by phone in advance. We tried the "Shirako" tofu course, a summer tofu kaiseki course that seems to be a staple. The restaurant has a traditional machiya atmosphere, which enhances the experience. The tofu dishes were the highlight. The appetizer trio was seasonal and well-seasoned, and the warm tofu in a bucket-like electric heater allowed for unlimited refills. The tofu itself had a great texture and flavor. The other dishes were also delicious and well-balanced. The yuba was particularly tasty. The closing rice dish was also amazing, with hiki and soybeans mixed in. It left a lasting impression. Thank you for the meal.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very nice! We were able to dine in a warehouse setting, which was great. The staff were very kind and provided excellent service. We chose a course meal that cost around 6,000 yen per person. We were very satisfied and full! The tofu hot pot was so delicious that we had seconds. Payment was accepted by credit card or cash only. There were counter seats available, and we saw some foreign customers coming in without reservations, but since the restaurant is small, it's better to make a reservation. We definitely want to go back again!

I had been curious about this place for a while, so I made a reservation and went for lunch. I don't usually eat yudofu or yuba, but since I was in Kyoto, I thought I should give it a try. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice with its old traditional building. I ordered the course menu. I think some men may not eat yudofu or yuba often. Personally, I had the impression that yudofu and yuba were not very tasty as they are light in flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised. The yudofu had a rich soybean flavor and the yuba was delicious. I would definitely want to go back again.

I had a lunch course at a restaurant in Gion, Kyoto, where I wanted to eat tofu dishes and yuba. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet and calm, and the service was attentive. The dishes were delicately and beautifully arranged, centered around tofu, and the flavors were delicious, allowing the natural taste of the ingredients to shine through. In addition, I was able to enjoy reasonably priced sake that might be expensive in other areas of Kyoto. The portions were satisfying, especially with the option for extra servings of yuba tofu. I left feeling full and satisfied. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy tofu dishes in Kyoto.

When visiting Kiyomizu-dera, I felt like eating yudofu for the first time. The restaurant is located along Higashiyama Street before climbing the slope to Kiyomizu-dera, between Kiyomizu-dera and Kodai-ji Temple. I had the yudofu course. Overall, it was light but the tofu had a strong flavor which was satisfying. Recently, the majority of customers are foreigners, with about 70-80% on average, and it can even reach 90% on busy weekdays. I sat at the counter and had a pleasant conversation with the chef.

I heard that restaurants in Kyoto are crowded, so I made a reservation and visited. When I made a reservation over the phone, I also ordered the tofu kaiseki meal "Shirakawa" for 6000 yen. I arrived a little early for my 5:00 reservation, but the restaurant was still preparing, so I waited at the entrance. Soon, a few other groups lined up behind me. When the restaurant opened for the night, I was seated at the counter. There were only 4 groups at the counter, and 2 groups in the old storehouse converted into a dining area. Today, they were only accepting reservations. The meal consisted of appetizers, sashimi, miso-marinated dish, simmered dish, tempura, and more. You could have seconds of the yudofu (tofu hot pot). Each dish was delicious, and I asked for seconds of the yudofu multiple times. I enjoyed the tasty meal with hot sake, chatting with the chef and other customers at the counter, and savored the night in Kyoto.

Everything was delicious! The texture and taste of the sesame tofu appetizer, the purple sweet potato tofu with a distinct purple sweet potato flavor, and the texture of the sashimi konjac were all delicious. The hot tofu was cylindrical in shape, and I tried eating it from the top, middle, and bottom - I liked eating the bottom part the best in just a minute and a half. Eating the hot tofu with seaweed salt was the best. The tempura was delicious, especially the crispy fried yuba and the lightly battered enoki mushroom tempura. The rice was just right, not too heavy. The mixed rice was a bit cold, but it had a nice fragrance and was delicious. The dessert, apple soy milk sherbet, was not too sweet and was a refreshing way to end the meal!

After visiting Kiyomizu-dera and Yasaka Shrine, I made a reservation and visited this place for lunch. Perhaps because of the reservation, we were seated in a private room-like area called Hanare at the back. This Hanare has a charming atmosphere, said to be 130 years old. On this day, I chose the seasonal course lunch (3400 yen) which included 5 dishes, the famous Yudofu hot tofu, rice, and dessert. A miniature bucket-like container for the Yudofu was placed on the table, and the lunch started with the Yudofu being served. The appetizers included sesame tofu, Nanjing tofu, and mugwort tofu. The sesame tofu had a sweet taste, and the Nanjing tofu had a distinctive roasted soybean flavor. The Yuba sashimi was refreshing, with a rich soybean taste. The Yudofu itself was flavorful and delicious. Then, we had tofu Dengaku and Koya tofu Dengaku. The tofu Dengaku had a crispy miso seasoning, while the Koya tofu Dengaku had a more savory taste. As a refill for the Yudofu, we tried the green soybean tofu for the first time, which had a lighter bean flavor compared to the regular tofu. Next was the Yuba tempura with vegetable tempura and crispy fried Yuba. The crispy fried Yuba had a fragrant and memorable taste. The rice dish was Hamo fish simmered rice tea, which was like a rice ball in tea broth, and it was delicious. Lastly, we had mango and soy milk sherbet for dessert, which was a perfect way to end the meal. Enjoying Kyoto's famous tofu dishes in a charming 130-year-old Hanare was a typical Kyoto sightseeing experience, and I was satisfied with the delicious flavors. Thank you for the meal. I chose a course in the 5000 yen range, and it came with all-you-can-eat yudofu, and all the dishes were delicious! I was very satisfied because I could have plenty of tofu, yuba, and fu. You can also order soy milk separately, which is thick and delicious. It's so rich that it even comes with hojicha. If you like tofu, I definitely recommend trying it!

I made a reservation for a kaiseki meal with all-you-can-eat tofu hot pot. The restaurant is located in a renovated old building, which created a lovely atmosphere. Every dish was delicious and I was very satisfied. The manager was very friendly, boiling tofu for us while chatting with us. It was a fun experience. I would love to visit again.

When you come to Kyoto, you definitely want to try something Kyoto-like, right? That's the feeling I had when I visited the tofu kaiseki restaurant "Tosuiro Gion" near Yasaka Shrine, around Gion Shijo station. The restaurant is located in a renovated 150-year-old machiya house, exuding a nostalgic atmosphere. It feels like a detached building, doesn't it? Cheers with plum wine made from plum. It looks like wine, but it has a strong plum flavor. - Appetizer: Chrysanthemum greens, pine flavor, tofu skin in soy milk, datemaki (Japanese omelette), black beans. A celebratory-looking appetizer assortment. - Oboro-yudofu ★ Recommended by Isshi: Two types of tofu made from adzuki beans and green soybeans, boiled for different lengths of time. The tofu is served with spinach inside. You can enjoy the direct taste of tofu as the boiling time and arrangements are changed each time. It's so heartwarming and delicious. This is what Kyoto is all about, right? The Awaji Island salt served later enhances the sweetness of the tofu, so I recommend it. - Sashimi: Tuna, Spanish mackerel, yuba (tofu skin) sashimi. The Spanish mackerel is seared on the skin side, allowing you to enjoy a change in texture and the sweetness of the fish. - Side dishes: Tofu in miso sauce, yuba in miso soup, salmon sushi, grilled pumpkin, tofu with sea urchin, sweet potato, shimeji mushrooms, shishito peppers. Served with elegant dashi broth, grated daikon radish, and ginger. - Ochazuke: The meal ends with a smooth ochazuke. Inside are Kyoto Akadaka chicken, yuzu, and more. The daikon radish, mizuna, and purple pickles are of such high quality that you'll want to buy them as souvenirs. - Tofu sherbet: I usually prefer oily foods, so eating light Kyoto cuisine in such a nostalgic setting made me feel like an adult. The humorous talk by the owner also added a nice touch to the delicious meal.

Before visiting the Kiyomizu-dera temple light-up event, we made a reservation for dinner at this restaurant. As we arrived, we saw a sign at the entrance saying "Today's fully booked with reservations!" Phew, that was close! We were warmly welcomed and guided to the counter seats. We ordered the "Yasaka" course meal for tonight, along with non-alcoholic drinks. On the counter, there was a small wooden tub-like object with a warm feeling, connected to a power cord. We were served "green soybean tofu," "bean curd," and "scrambled tofu" for two people. The chef said, "It'll be ready in 5 minutes," and would occasionally give us updates like "3 more minutes." When it was ready to eat, he would say, "Here you go, it's ready!" This hot tofu dish was refillable, and we ended up having three additional servings. All-you-can-eat hot tofu! There were two other couples at the counter besides us, and the chef interacted with all customers equally, which was impressive. The dishes included various items like salads, grilled dishes, sashimi, side dishes, and fried foods, all served in small portions. For the finale, we had a delicious tea-soaked rice with grilled mackerel, which was light and tasty. The atmosphere of the restaurant, the chef's personality, and the staff's attentiveness were all perfect. The delicious and colorful dishes were also exceptional. Everything was top-notch! Unlike high-end Kyoto kaiseki restaurants, this place offers a reasonable price for enjoying great food and ambiance. It's a charming place that I would love to visit again. The chef even escorted us to the exit when we left. Definitely a place worth revisiting!

It's been a while since my last visit. This place offers a kaiseki meal featuring yudofu (hot tofu) with unlimited refills, which makes it guilt-free as it's a tofu-based dish. The tofu and yuba (tofu skin) were consistently delicious, and the guava and soy milk sorbet for dessert was surprisingly good. Each dish had its own distinct aroma without overpowering each other. You can sit at the counter if you're with a small group, or in a private room if you're with a larger group. The cost performance is great, and the location is perfect for a trip to Kyoto. This is a recommended lunch spot for those who want to eat to their heart's content. Non-smoking, with ashtrays available outside. Credit cards accepted.

I visited Kyoto for a trip. It's usually crowded, but shortly after the end of the pandemic, there was nobody there, which was quite surprising. I requested two types of sake to drink, and they recommended a specific pairing order. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy drinking them. I had plenty of refills of yudofu, so even though I had a lot of tofu, it was a satisfying amount. It was great to be able to eat delicious food during my trip.

When you reserve a counter seat, the chef will guide you on the best timing to enjoy the aroma of the charcoal-grilled tofu and the freshly made tofu. You can also enjoy a fun interaction with the chef. I had the lunch kaiseki, and every dish was carefully prepared to bring out the charm of tofu. I was surprised by the smoothness of the tofu sauce used in the white ae, the delicious aroma and taste of the perfectly grilled tofu, and the crispy and flavorful yuba tempura. Most importantly, all the dishes are healthy, so you can feel satisfied without any guilt. The soy milk cocktails and plum wine were also delicious. Total bill: Lunch kaiseki 3927 yen (including tax)

Due to the significant decrease in foreign visitors, I decided to visit this place where it's always full and hard to get a seat. You can enjoy a gentle taste of homemade tofu. The meal includes a combination of shrimp and fried food, seaweed from Mizen Temple, crab with white vinegar, black bean rice, ozoni (Japanese soup with rice cakes), tiramisu, soy milk and apple sherbet, and purple sweet potato yokan.

Dinner in Kyoto was at the tofu cuisine restaurant Miso Suiro Gion. It is located in a renovated 130-year-old machiya. We made a reservation for our visit. We dined in the Kura-an, a renovated storehouse that was left in the machiya. We had the chef's recommended "Kyoto cuisine" course. The meal included appetizers with five autumn harvest items, served with Nishijin sake from Sasaki Sake Brewery. The brewery is the only one remaining within the city limits of Kyoto. The famous O-boro yudofu was a standout dish, and we couldn't resist getting seconds. The sashimi platter and assorted tofu dishes were meticulously prepared and delicious. The almond tofu soup was light and flavorful. The steamed sea bream and turnip dish, fried taro tofu, and vinegar-marinated salmon and tofu were all excellent. The meal concluded with soybean rice and fish, tofu in fermented soybean paste, and a refreshing dessert. The staff were friendly and engaging, even escorting us out of the restaurant. It was a delightful dining experience.

Recommended by my daughter, we visited this restaurant half a year ago. It is located close to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Unfortunately, there is no parking lot, but there are plenty of coin parking lots nearby, so we had no trouble parking. Since we didn't make a reservation, we visited on a whim. We were seated at the counter as a family. The various dishes that were brought out little by little gave off a feeling of "Ah, this is Kyoto!" Honestly, I tend to eat a bit more than the average person, so while eating, I thought, "I don't think this will be enough. Maybe I'll have a hearty ramen later..." But by the time I finished eating, I felt satisfied. The hearty hot pot course included yudofu, which I enjoyed. One thing I particularly liked was the "tofu milk." It was rich and delicious. I think I will visit again, but next time I want to make a reservation.

I went to have dinner at Yudofu in Gion! \(^o^)/ I've always wanted to go to Mamezurou, but the main store in Kiyamachi is so popular that it's hard to get a reservation. Luckily, I was able to make a reservation at the Gion store this time. It's located near Kiyomizu-dera, in a 130-year-old machiya where you can enjoy Kyoto cuisine. I visit Kyoto every month and when I stay overnight, I can also enjoy alcohol (I always come by car for day trips, so it's reassuring to be able to drink without worrying about driving). I sat at the counter and toasted with plum wine. ♪(*^^)o∀*∀o(^^*)♪ The famous Yudofu was delicious and warmed me up nicely! The assorted appetizers, sashimi, freshly baked yuba and fu, simmered daikon and burdock, and tempura were all incredibly delicious! I also tried the tofu with salt. Pickles, red miso soup, and seasonal rice were served as well. For dessert, there was yuzu sherbet. Overall, I was very satisfied with the Kyoto-style dinner. It was so delicious! \(^o^)/ If you have time, please visit Princess Cinderella's blog as well. ♪(´ε` )https://pricin.exblog.jp/28861475/
