Located in Nishidaikoku-cho, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, this bakery is operated by Kyoto Itahashi Gakuen. The nearest stations are Fushimi Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line or Tanbabashi Station on the Keihan Main Line, so it is recommended to travel by car or bus. Here, they use Fushimi's sake lees, homemade grape yeast, and domestically produced wheat as ingredients, and students and staff of Kyoto Itahashi Gakuen work together to create delicious bread. The bread here is truly delicious, especially the shokupan (Japanese white bread) is outstanding! It's always delicious no matter when you eat it. However, it is so popular in the neighborhood that it sells out quickly. Reservations are not accepted, so it is recommended to purchase as soon as they open if you want to try it. Once sold out, they will close, so please be aware. Thank you for always providing delicious bread!

I had some business to do at the ward office, and I decided to check out this cafe that I had been curious about for a while. They had drinks starting from around 250 yen, and a variety of sandwiches and deli breads. Among them, the cream bread, pumpkin cream bread, and raisin bread looked oddly delicious. I wasn't in the mood for sweet bread, so I went for the curry bread lunch set. It was 500 yen for a choice of bread (180 yen), a mini bread, mini soup, and a drink of your choice. This cafe, like many welfare cafes, uses additive-free and safe ingredients, so I think it's less taxing on the body compared to having lunch at a typical chain store. The soup was pumpkin soup, with pumpkin seeds in it. Delicious! The mini bread was made with sake lees yeast, and it had a rich and flavorful taste - so delicious! This bread and soup were a big hit. It's very comforting. The curry bread was not fried, and it was just delicious. The tea also came in a pot, and all of this for 500 yen is amazing. There's a library nearby too, so it's very convenient for taking a break. The bread seems to be made elsewhere, as a female staff member who came for delivery had a sparkling smile, so I'm sure the other bread is delicious too. Anyway, it's convenient and delicious, so I will definitely come back!

When I stopped by this place in Fushimi, it was a little after 11 in the morning. The store was small and didn't have a wide variety of items (maybe I was too early?). I was looking for something like a deli-style bread, but they didn't have it, so I ended up getting 5 different kinds of bread: jam bread, cream bread, red bean paste bread, pumpkin cream bread, and chestnut red bean paste bread (all 150 yen each). When I took a bite, I thought, "Hmm, this bread dough..." But when I ate it with the filling, it matched really well. I thought the chestnut red bean paste bread would have actual chestnuts inside, but it turned out to be chestnut paste, which was actually quite delicious! Whether it was the cream, pumpkin cream, or red bean paste, they all tasted great. The only one that was just okay was the jam bread, but overall, this place was not to be underestimated!

Coupe-san couldn't make it in time because the store closes at 5:00 PM, but finally managed to visit! The bread here is carefully packed in sealed bags (not just taped with tape). Here are some of the items I tried:
- Fig Country Bread @ 400 yen: Figs, raisins, and walnuts baked over direct flame.
- Strawberry Chocolate Melon Bread @ 130 yen: Melon bread topped with strawberry chocolate bits.
- Baked Red Bean Bun @ 150 yen: Plenty of Tamba Dainagon red bean paste. Soft and delicious!
- Nanchili Sauce @ 180 yen: A spicy-sweet chili sauce that is addictive!
- Mayo Corn Bread @ 180 yen: Plenty of mayonnaise, corn, and ham!
- Sausage A @ 200 yen: A whole Schüblig sausage wrapped in Danish pastry.
- Jam Rabbit @ 150 yen: Limited edition today!
- Cherry Blossom Red Bean Bun @ 150 yen: Cherry blossom-scented additive-free red bean paste wrapped in a soft bread dough.
- Pistachio Cookie @ 300 yen: A premium cookie with a fragrant pistachio flavor.
The following three bread items are kept in the refrigerated case, and they were kind enough to take them out for me:
- Apple Danish @ 180 yen: Handmade custard and apple sauté are exquisite.
- Caramel Nuts @ 180 yen: Walnuts, almonds, special caramel sauce, and white chocolate on top.
- Danish Chocola @ 180 yen: Danish pastry with chocolate chips inside.
I also tried two highly recommended bread items:
- Matcha Uguisu Red Bean Bun @ 150 yen: A luxurious red bean paste mixed with matcha and uguisu beans, topped with azuki beans.
- Cream Cheese Cranberry (with homemade blueberry jam) @ 200 yen: French bread with dried cranberries mixed in, topped with cream cheese and jam.
I was tempted by the Mayo Corn Bread, but I had to follow the recommendation. So, I tried the Matcha Uguisu Red Bean Bun and Cream Cheese Cranberry, which were both delicious. The Matcha Uguisu Red Bean Bun had a wonderful matcha aroma and a perfect balance of sweetness. The Cream Cheese Cranberry, when warmed up, was incredibly tasty with the cheese and jam blending together. The store closes at 5:00 PM, but even at 4:00 PM, they had a wide selection of bread. The store manager mentioned that there were many other bread items I might like, so I will definitely be back for more. Thank you for the delicious treats!

A bakery suddenly appeared in a quiet residential area. They offer bread made with sake lees and bread made with homemade grape yeast. It seems like they are very particular about their ingredients. Cream Cheese & Cranberry - 180 yen Made with Hokkaido stone-ground whole wheat flour and long-fermented dough. It contains cranberries and cream cheese on top. I thought it would be a hard bread, but the dough was surprisingly soft. The tartness of the cranberries was delicious, but the cheese had a slight off flavor. Overall, the balance of flavors felt a bit off.

The first stop on my bakery hopping adventure in Kyoto was "Fushimi Pan Kobo Coupe" in Fushimi Ward. I had read about this place on Tabelog and decided to check it out. I bought an apple danish and a cream bread based on recommendations from other reviewers. The danish was crispy on the outside, moist with apple on the inside, and had a perfect balance of flavors. There was a layer of cream beneath the apple, which added a delicious touch. It wasn't too sweet, which gave it a classy feel. Definitely worth the 180 yen price tag. The cream bread (150 yen) was also tasty. I had frozen it and reheated it in the microwave. It became a bit soft after reheating, but the aroma of the sliced almonds on top and the sweetness of the cream matched perfectly. I visited the store around 11:15 am and found that most of the bread was sold out, with only a few items left on the shelves. I'm not sure if they were sold out or if they were preparing for the lunch rush. The store has an L-shaped layout, with shelves extending to the back on the left side upon entering. They also have seasonal items, so I would like to visit again. Highly recommended.

While driving in Fushimi Ward, I spotted a bakery on the right side and decided to back up and park to buy some bread. I ended up having the bread at home. I bought a baguette and a cream puff. The baguette was simple and delicious, but I personally prefer a crust that is thicker and crunchier. The cream puff was nothing special, but the Danish pastries they had looked really good, so I plan to try those next time. The total cost for the two items was 350 yen.

(2011.11) I felt like having an Apple Danish and a Chocolate Danish, so I visited this bakery. Both were priced at 180 yen. The Danish pastry here is crispy and my favorite. The chocolate used is not fancy, just nostalgic milk chocolate. These two are my go-to bread choices. I finished them in no time. I also bought a large baguette-like bread with curry spread and cheese on top (250 yen). The sandwiches looked delicious too, so I'll definitely come back to try them.
(2009.3) I wanted to eat a Sakura bean paste-filled bread again this year, so I bought it. I got a regular Sakura bean paste bread and a Sakura bean paste bread in the style of "oyaki." Both the appearance and taste of these breads make me feel like spring. Also, I have another recommendation now! The Apple Danish was incredibly delicious. I think I might end up buying it every time.
This bakery was also featured in the 2008 bread special of the Kyoto/Shiga information magazine "Leaf." It's always nice to see a shop you frequent being featured. The croissants here are highly recommended. Even when eaten the next morning without heating, the texture of the dough is just right. In spring, the "oyaki cherry blossom" and "cherry blossom bean paste bread" were delicious. The white bean paste has a cherry blossom scent, with cherry blossoms on top of the bread, making it look very cute. The "cream cheese & cranberry" bread mentioned in "Leaf" was also delightful. The more you chew, the tastier it gets with the cranberries and cream cheese. There's also a habanero curry bread that was incredibly spicy! There are so many delicious bread options here! I'll be back to buy more soon.

I visited a relative in Fushimi and they recommended a delicious bakery, so I went there. The shop was small but had a cute atmosphere. I found a bread with sake lees in it, which had a nice aroma of Japanese sake. The bread was moist and I think I'm hooked on it. I also tried the melon bread and cream bread, both were delicious. The cost performance was good too, so I wish there was a shop like this near my home. The customer service at the shop was also excellent, so it has become my favorite place.

I visited a bakery that I had seen at a few pop-up shops before. The shop was small and the selection of bread was limited but unique. ★Eclepa...¥130. A product advertised with a photo on a board outside the shop. It looks like an eclair but it's not, it's a mysterious happiness called Eclepa. Unfortunately, I didn't feel happy eating it. ★Granberry Cheese Bread...¥180. A bread made with sake lees in the dough! It looks hard but it's moist and chewy. When lightly toasted, the cheese inside melts and it tastes quite delicious. ★Matcha Macadamia Cookies...¥300 (80g). Crispy and crumbly cookies with macadamia nuts for a fun texture. I also tried to ask for the popular item, the apple jam & custard (¥150), but it was sold out. Thank you for the meal.

The place is located facing the Taketa Highway. It is in a quiet residential area. According to information, this seems to be a shop launched by the intellectual disability day service production facility Fushimi Gakuen in this area. As for the types of bread, there are quite a few, including highly rated flavorful croissants, French bread, bread with dried fruits kneaded in, and delicious anpan. I became a fan after encountering a variety of "this is bread!" with rich flavors that you can savor more as you chew. It seems that no preservatives are added, resulting in a natural deliciousness.
