Today, I secretly visited a restaurant called Aikamu in Minamicho, Ichijoji, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. I was looking for a place that serves hearty Western food, and I think this restaurant was a hit. I was in the mood for some fried food since morning, and I remembered a restaurant in Ichijoji that was featured on Gatsumeshi. However, it turned out to be closed on that day. So, I decided to visit Aikamu instead. When I arrived at the restaurant around 12:20 PM, there were a couple, a solo male customer, and a group of students as the other customers. The restaurant had about 5-6 tables and a large oval table for shared seating. I chose to sit at the shared table where I could easily take pictures of the comics displayed on the wall. I planned to order the "Chicken Soy Sauce Aged" dish, but it seemed to have been removed from the menu. So, I decided to go for either the Oirin Chicken or the Bakudan Minced Meat. I chose the Bakudan Minced Meat in L size with an extra-large portion of rice. The Bakudan Minced Meat dish arrived after a 10-minute wait. It was a large minced meat cutlet, not the softball-shaped one I was expecting. It was generously sized, weighing around 250-300g. The presentation of the dish was unique, and the sauce was drizzled in a creative way. The minced meat cutlet was juicy and flavorful, and it went really well with the rice. The meat was coarsely ground, giving it a meaty texture. The juiciness of the meat was evident as soon as I took a bite. The sauce, although similar to tonkatsu sauce, was unnecessary as the minced meat cutlet itself was delicious enough. Overall, the Bakudan Minced Meat dish was a satisfying and tasty meal. I enjoyed the meaty texture and the juiciness of the minced meat cutlet. The presentation was eye-catching, but I would have preferred the sauce to be served on the side to fully appreciate the flavor of the meat cutlet.

The deliciousness of the chicken itself is great, and it pairs perfectly with the plum-grated sauce. I never get tired of eating it. The wait time is a bit long, which is a downside, but they have manga books you can read while waiting. The location is a bit inconvenient, but the unbeatable taste makes me want to keep coming back.

It goes well with salt sprinkled on top. Other dishes that other people were eating looked delicious too, but the long wait was just too much. It's not a place suitable for students to chat with friends while eating; it doesn't match that kind of scene.

The taste is absolutely delicious. Every menu item is top-notch. The rice is perfectly cooked and the miso soup with bean sprouts is a favorite. Enjoy the main dish while savoring the side dishes that change daily. There are 4-person tables, so it's great for hanging out with friends or dining alone. There are manga books in the restaurant, so feel free to stay a while. Just remember to give up your seat if there are people waiting.
