From the city center of Fukuchiyama, head towards Tottori on Route 9. Pass Shimoya Kuno Station and go about 2 km. Along the national highway, on the right side, there is a standalone shop. It looks like a drive-in. The parking lot is spacious in front of the shop so you can park easily. Inside, there are several counter seats in front, table seats on the right, and a tatami room on the left with three tables for six people each. The clientele is diverse, with salarymen at the counter, housewives on the right, and elderly couples on the left, just like before. Looking at the menu, the previous option of fried oysters and ginger yakitori is no longer there. I decided to go for the "recommended set by the manager." The food arrived in a few minutes, including tempura, beef yakiniku, sashimi, and squid vinegar dish. It also came with rice, miso soup, and pickles. The tempura was decent but the shrimp was a bit tough. The beef yakiniku had a rich flavor that went well with the rice. The sashimi and vinegar dish were standard in taste. It's nice that you can get a refill of rice. The total cost was 1300 yen (including tax). They also offer catering, which I've used for ward events, so it's a familiar taste in a way. Overall, it's a bit on the pricey side, with tonkatsu set at 1155 yen and rice bowl with udon or soba at 1045 yen (both including tax). The note on the yakiniku set saying "the meat is served on the hot plate after being cooked" makes me wonder... I'll have to try it if I get the chance. Thank you for the meal. Menu for June 2021.

I barely made it in time for my last order. I got the Katsu-toji Nabe set meal for 1050 yen, excluding tax. You can choose between soba and udon noodles. This is not recommended for those with sensitive tongues (lol), but you can transfer it to the plate in front to let it cool down while you eat. The katsu is thick and satisfying. The udon has finely shredded kombu seaweed and the noodles are thin but have a good firmness. Delicious!

Today I visited this restaurant for the first time during my touring trip and had the pork cutlet rice bowl (served with udon noodles and a side dish) for 980 yen. The cutlet was very delicious.

When driving west towards Yakyuno, I came across a drive-in type of restaurant that I hadn't noticed during the daytime. The interior was different from what I had imagined based on the exterior. I ordered a parent and child bowl set, expecting a large portion, but it was just a bit more than a mini size. The quality was mediocre and the prices were neither cheap nor expensive. As I drove further west, I noticed many more restaurants along the way.

Fukuchiyama city, heading towards Tottori on Route 9 from the city center, there is a standalone shop on the right side of the road. It looks like a drive-in from the outside. Once you go inside, you'll see office workers, housewives, and elderly couples - a shop loved by everyone. I was intrigued by the fried oysters on the sign outside, so I decided to order that along with ginger pork. When the dishes arrived, I was surprised by the generous portions! The oysters were large and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. They came with both sauce and tartar, which was a nice touch. The ginger pork was also delicious with a rich flavor that went well with the rice. I opted for the large rice portion, which was tasty too. The set also included miso soup, pickles, and chawanmushi, all for only 1000 yen with change left over! The only downside was that smoking is allowed, so the atmosphere gets one star. The shop is spacious, so I hope they can at least have a smoking section. They also offer catering services, which is convenient for community events. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

We ordered a special meal to celebrate my father's 80th birthday and my mother's 77th birthday. When we made a reservation over the phone, the staff was very kind and accommodating, listening to our requests. My mother especially enjoyed the chirashi sushi, finishing it in no time. We opted for the head-on shrimp fry instead of the tai fish, and it was very satisfying and delicious.
