On this day, I visited the restaurant aiming for the weekday lunch set. There have been many price adjustments in the past, but the price difference between the ramen set and the fried rice set is only 50 yen. This reflects the slight difference in portion size between the ramen and fried rice. In my many years of visiting this restaurant, I know that the perfect size for me is the "fried rice set," so I ordered it without hesitation. Of course, I made sure to request extra green onions and bean sprouts. The fried rice arrived first, and I waited without touching it for the ramen to arrive. Three minutes later, the ramen was brought to me. This! This! This! Covered in green onions with bean sprouts hidden, I immersed them in the rich clear broth and enjoyed the blissful moment. Then, I savored the happiness of slurping the firm, low-water straight noodles boiled to perfection. After finishing the noodles, I continued to enjoy the plentiful green onions and bean sprouts in the soup by savoring the fried rice. This. This is it. Yes! I haven't visited the bustling Takabashi main store crowded with tourists for many years. For me, the best place, then and now, is here. I will definitely come back again.

I came at a different time than usual, so I tried the ramen set for 1000 yen (until 3 pm). The taste was consistently good as always, and I was satisfied with the deliciousness. It's a popular shop, so there were many customers coming in and out, and it seemed like everyone was satisfied.

I came to Uji city because I had some business there and wanted to eat ramen. I looked at the menu and was torn, but ultimately decided on the Deluxe size. Even though it was 3:00 pm, an odd time, the restaurant was full of customers. I waited a bit and my Deluxe ramen was served. The portion size was amazing! I probably could have gone with a smaller size. The thick slices of chashu were luxurious and really made me hungry. The soy sauce soup had a nostalgic taste to it, and paired perfectly with the medium thick noodles. The balance of all the elements was just right, truly a deluxe flavor. I left feeling full and satisfied. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Visited around 11:30 am on Saturday, August 19, 2023. There was a line in front of the store, which was a bit surprising. It seemed to be a group, but as a solo customer, I was promptly seated inside. I ordered the regular firmness ramen. It took about 10 minutes for the ramen to be served, which felt a bit long for a ramen shop. The slightly salty soup was delicious, and the texture of the noodles was great, very close to the taste of the main branch of First Asahi! The green onions went really well with this soup. I added a bit more of the table's spicy miso and finished it, and it was still delicious, a taste of Kyoto indeed.

I came to Kyoto by car for business! On the way to my destination, I purposely got off the highway to have lunch at "Honke Daiichi Asahi Terada-ten" restaurant, my favorite ramen shop in the world. This is the first branch of the renowned "Daiichi Asahi Honten" in Kyoto Station Takabashi, faithfully continuing the legacy of the main store. Since the main store is always crowded, the Terada branch is a very welcome presence. I knew they were relocating, but due to the distance, I couldn't visit until now. Today, I brought along my junior colleague, Nishi, for his "Daiichi Asahi" debut. Please let the taste remain unchanged!! We were guided to a spacious table seat and placed our order! ・Ramen with extra meat... 900 yen (tax included) I really wanted to order a large serving, but I'm not young anymore, so I settled for extra meat! The appearance of the ramen when served was just as I remembered. Now, let's dig in... Mmm! Delicious!! The rich and flavorful soy sauce broth, Kondo Seimen's medium straight noodles, Kujyo green onions, and thinly sliced char siu. The taste of my youth is still alive and well! In a modern world filled with delicious ramen, I may be giving high praise to this classic soy sauce ramen because it contains a special spice of "nostalgia" and "sentiment" for me, so please take note! ・Aged miso ramen... 800 yen (tax included) ・Fried rice (small)... 380 yen (tax included) Despite it being my "Daiichi Asahi debut," why miso ramen! I couldn't help but complain, but I am still interested in trying something new like "miso." Let me take a bite... Well, it's delicious, but Daiichi Asahi is still all about soy sauce! "Honke Daiichi Asahi Terada-ten" Oh, it was so delicious!! Thank you very much for the wonderful meal!

The restaurant has surprisingly short business hours until 19:30, considering it's a ramen shop. I visited around 19:00 and there were still several groups waiting in line. It was my first visit since they moved, and I was pleased to find that the interior was spacious and very clean. The food was consistently delicious, and I will definitely visit again!

Before working the night shift, a visit to Terada's Daiichi Asahi for a meal is a must for ramen enthusiasts. I arrived at 16:30 and there were 3 customers ahead of me. After ordering, it only took about 5 minutes for the food to be served. I ordered the Deluxe Ramen (special) for 1150 yen and a side of fried rice (regular) for 550 yen. The soup had a good aroma of animal-based broth with soy sauce. The noodles were firm as I requested, giving a nice chewy texture. However, they softened quickly after a few minutes, so you have to eat it fast. The Deluxe option had plenty of pork slices and extra noodles, making it a good value compared to Jiro-style ramen. The fried rice was fluffy and had a strong meaty flavor. It was about 0.7 servings, which left me feeling satisfied. Overall, it was a filling meal.

On my way back home, I stumbled upon this place by chance! I thought it opened at 11:00, but it actually opens at 10:30! No reason not to go in (lol). There were about 10 people waiting in line. I ordered the special ramen! The soup is irresistible! Delicious! By the time I finished eating, there were about 5 people waiting outside. It's a popular place!

I visited this place for lunch after a long time. I arrived around 11:45 am and there were only a few seats available at the counter, but by the time I left after about 20 minutes, there was already a line forming. I sat at a counter seat and ordered the "Deluxe Nami," which I had never tried before. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes. The Deluxe Nami came with thick slices of chashu piled high, giving it a powerful appearance. The ramen itself was the classic delicious Tonkotsu Shoyu soup from Terada, with a clear and slightly sweet flavor. The chewy noodles were also excellent. The crunchy bean sprouts and green onions added a nice touch. Adding the spicy miso made it a whole different, spicy experience. The tender chashu slices were flavorful and not too fatty, making them quite tasty. With 5 generous slices, it was quite filling. The "Taro" option had a sweet and savory sauce coating the meat, adding a unique flavor to the ramen. It allows you to enjoy the stable soup flavor as is. The menu offers a choice between the complex taste of Taro and the simple deliciousness of Deluxe, making it easy to satisfy your meat cravings. I look forward to trying the miso ramen next time, and I'm also curious about the summer limited cold noodles. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived in the early afternoon hoping to find a shorter line. Despite that, there were still about six groups ahead of me, and I waited for about 15 minutes before being seated. The ramen here has a generous portion even for a small size, so I always go for the small ramen. I also always order the gyoza, which never fails to satisfy. Thank you for the delicious meal!

As expected, Takabashi never disappoints. I feel like eating there at least once a month. So I decided to try a Takabashi location I had never been to before. It was around 2:00 PM, but there were 6 staff members! Is that many necessary? Haha. There were about 4 customers. I ordered the lunch ramen set for 1000 yen (regular ramen + small fried rice), and it arrived right away! Yep, the taste is consistent and top-notch. Now I understand why there were 6 staff members. Shortly after I sat down, about 10 people from a nearby construction site also came in. Haha.

Akira, an old-established ramen shop with a lot of history and delicious food! The original Asahi Terada store in Kyotanabe, Kyoto, specializes in ramen with extra meat. Established in 1967, relocated in 2021. I ordered the special ramen with extra meat, grilled meat, small rice, and raw egg. I chose the caramel flavor (strong taste), with extra vegetables (green onions and bean sprouts) and extra fat. The special ramen comes in a huge bowl like a washbasin. I arrived at 13:40 and there were some empty seats (about 60% full).

"Ramen Hontei Asahi" is often confused with the famous shop near Kyoto Station on Takakura Shio-koji where there is always a long line (for details, please ask Google). However, it is actually a different place, the "Main Branch Asahi Takabashi Terada Store," which has been relocated and reopened. It is known for its clear tonkotsu shoyu broth, often referred to as the "Akira style" of Asahi, with a refreshing and good taste. The assorted chashu (fourth and fifth photos) is moist and thick, perfect for those who love tender chashu. The restaurant also has a parking lot, making it quite popular in the area. Thank you for the delicious meal. #Grateful for life.

It's been a while since I visited Asahi-san. Today, I want to try ordering the "Deluxe" ramen, commonly known as the Chashu ramen in a special size - Chashu Ramen Large. The price is 1050 yen. I visited at 4:00 PM and there were about 30% of customers already there. After ordering, it took about 10 minutes for the ramen to be served. The noodles were firm, with plenty of green onions, and the order came with a flavorful broth packed with umami from animal ingredients and a tangy soy sauce aroma. The noodles were medium-thick and straight with a nice chew. The ramen was delicious, and since it was a large size, the bowl was bigger and filled with noodles, making it very satisfying. The chashu had a good balance of saltiness and tender meat. Overall, it was great.

I visited this place while on a work trip. I ordered the Ramen set (1000 yen) which came with a regular ramen and a small fried rice. The fried rice had a mild flavor that went well with the ramen soup. The ramen had a generous amount of chashu pork slices. I was able to get full for 1000 yen.

I visited around 11 am on a sudden cold holiday. I was surprised to find that there was an 8-person wait. It took about 15 minutes. The kimchi ramen cost 950 yen and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. It wasn't extremely spicy, but I couldn't eat it quickly. It had a delicious level of spiciness and I was satisfied. There was plenty of chashu as well.

I used to visit this restaurant before it moved over 20 years ago, but I hadn't eaten here for the past 5 years. I decided to revisit it after it relocated, hoping to reminisce about old memories. I arrived around 2 pm, avoiding the lunch rush, but was surprised to find the place fully packed. I ordered the ramen set with extra green onions. As you can see, it was quite a large portion, but I managed to finish it just in time. I decided that next time, I will go for the fried rice set instead. Now, about the ramen - the soup tasted even better than before. It had a soy sauce base with rich pork flavor and depth. Before I could get lost in nostalgia, I found myself enjoying the delicious ramen and finishing it in no time. If there's no line, I will definitely come back to this place. Among the "Akira-style" ramen, this particular ramen from this store is my favorite. If you happen to be nearby, please give it a try. Thank you for the meal.

■Check Point - Popular restaurant that opens at 10:30 am and has long lines on holidays - Enjoy the nostalgic Kyoto ramen soup at the relocated popular main store, Daiichi Asahi Terada-ten, in Hirakawa, Joyo. Only a 3-minute walk from Kintetsu Kyukitsu-gawa Station with parking available. The exterior features a clean design with a yellow sign prominently displaying "Daiichi Asahi." The interior has 9 counter seats and 5 tables, offering a spacious and relaxed dining experience. Currently open from 10:30 am until evening, without night service, resulting in long lines since opening. When it comes to nostalgic Kyoto ramen, Daiichi Asahi is the place to go. A taste that makes you crave it after a long time. ■Ramen Set for 1000 yen - Regular ramen + small fried rice - The clear and beautiful soup with the umami of pork, despite its light appearance, has a rich depth of flavor. The amount of medium-thin straight noodles is around 120g, providing a satisfying volume with a firm texture. Asking for extra Kujo green onions results in a generous amount that fills the soup, with plenty of chashu, which is a delightful default. The fried rice is moist with the sweetness of onions, containing a good amount of chashu, making it simply delicious. It's quite filling, so next time, I'll try ordering a small ramen and a small fried rice. ◆I would be grateful if you could save this for reference◆

Friday at 2:30 PM. After finishing work, I decided to have lunch at the Terada restaurant. I was excited to visit after a long time. Upon arrival, I entered the restaurant. The new curtain looks nice. There were 3 customers ahead of me. As expected, it's not crowded. I ordered the ramen set with extra meat, firm noodles, and extra green onions. It cost 1,000 yen plus 200 yen for the extras. The ramen was served in about five minutes. It looked great with plenty of green onions and meat. The ramen had a great taste and was very satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

I have my family home in Joto, so when it comes to Ichiban Asahi, I think of the Terada store. It used to be a shop that stood side by side with the pachinko parlor "JUNBO." I have been going there to eat since junior high school, and back then, I was impressed by how delicious their ramen was. Recently, I heard that they relocated to Hirakawa in the same Joto area, so I tried to go there a few times, but I gave up due to the long lines each time. (I wish they would do something about not having evening hours.) This time, I decided to go on a weekday for lunch, and surprisingly it was not crowded, so we were able to sit down easily. It was a bit anticlimactic. My companion and I ordered the ramen set (¥1000) with extra green onions. When it arrived after a while, I felt a sense of nostalgia when I took the first sip of the soup. Maybe because we asked for extra green onions, there were more than I expected, and the amount was larger than I thought, so the noodles were better on the firmer side. It was really good to be able to eat it after a long time. As for the fried rice, I had never tried it before, so I was looking forward to it. It had a well-balanced and excellent taste. Both the ramen and the fried rice were delicious, but the portions were too large, so next time, I'll focus on ordering individual items. Thank you for the meal.

Founded as "Honke Daiichiasahi Takabashi Kutsugawa Store" and "Honke Daiichiasahi Takabashi Terada Store", this shop was relocated and reopened in the current location in December 2021. On May 23, 2022, I ordered the signature ramen "Meidai Special Ramen" in small size for 700 yen, with the option to add fried rice for 950 yen. The soup base is soy sauce with pork, rated as light-medium in flavor and thin-medium in thickness, with thin noodles. The side menu includes small fried rice for 400 yen as a standalone item, which is described as addictive with a peppery accent and a flavorful, grain-by-grain taste. The toppings include seasoned chashu, crunchy bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and green onions. The reviewer praises the rich aroma and addictive quality of the dark soup, which combines a pleasant soy sauce spiciness, a subtle complexity from the broth, and a rounded pork bone umami. The noodles are described as smooth, with a good chew and a wide flavor profile, enhancing the overall experience when combined with the toppings. The review concludes by highlighting the captivating flavor of this Kyoto-style ramen.
