The interior of the shop is a cozy tatami room with a view of the Takase River in front of you. Enjoying a cafe time with a strawberry milk kakigori and freshly roasted coffee. The shaved powder snow kakigori was surprisingly fluffy and melted in my mouth with the perfect match of syrup and ice, disappearing in no time because it was so delicious. The coffee was also delicious. I couldn't take photos inside the shop as it was prohibited, but the owner was kind. Next time, I'll come for the mini dorayaki. The blue heron looking at the camera was so cute that I couldn't help but snap a picture. Thank you for the meal! ✨

A hidden gem of a cafe. I happened to come across this place by the river and it was a lovely find. They don't sell dorayaki in the summer, but the ice cream sandwich with red bean paste inside was amazing! My friend had the pudding and it looked delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and it seems child-friendly too.

I visited GW around 3:30 pm. It was not crowded at first, but it started to get busier and there were limited seats, so there were times when I couldn't get in. You have to take off your shoes before entering. I had a cup of coffee. It was nice to enjoy it while looking at the river and feeling the breeze. The atmosphere was very good. The sweets like Monaka looked delicious too. Thank you for the meal.

To the café Uplift. I stopped by to take a break after drinking too much at a standing bar. It has a cozy atmosphere, like a room of spirits and time, distancing from the hustle and bustle outside. The small river passing by in front adds a nostalgic touch, giving a slight countryside feel. The hot coffee for ¥550 and green tea for ¥650 were both delicious with a strong body. I'll definitely visit again (´∀`)

On Tuesday at 3:00 PM, I went to "Kissa Noboru" in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. The exterior is a traditional Japanese house, and you have to take off your shoes at the entrance before entering. There are seats at the back where you can overlook the Takase River. I sat there and ordered an iced café au lait. It arrived in 5 minutes. I took a sip. Delicious. The balance between milk and coffee is perfect. It has a strong coffee flavor and aroma, making it a truly authentic café au lait. Relaxing while gazing at the leisurely flow of the Takase River is the best way to unwind. I often visit Kyoto, but I prefer the Takase River over the Kamo River as it has a more charming atmosphere. The traditional Japanese house ambiance adds to the Kyoto vibe. Thank you for the meal.

On the first day of my early summer trip to Kyoto in 2022, I finally visited the long-awaited "Noboru" that I had been unable to visit due to overlapping with days off. It is a small room with tatami flooring, like a cozy living room. Due to the COVID-19 measures, everyone sits facing the windows like in a temple school. Below the windows is the Takase River, flowing quietly. In the restaurant, there are rules that prohibit loud chatting, taking photos, exchanging drinks, or peeking at a single phone with another person, and being affectionate. Since there were no other customers, I carefully read and adhered to the rules to avoid standing out. Unfortunately, the rumored mini dorayaki was sold out, and I had already eaten a hearty dinner, so I decided to focus on drinks and ordered a cold green tea. The green tea served after a while had a true matcha color that exceeded my imagination. This was not a cold-brewed green tea but a cold version of matcha itself. I could hear a grinding sound - were they grinding the tea leaves? I understood. I had only had matcha a few times, so I wondered if I could drink it... But the tea flowed smoothly down my throat, with a mellow taste. I could feel the strong aroma of freshly ground tea leaves and a natural sweetness. I was impressed by the real deal of tea. The owner's refreshing and friendly demeanor made me feel comfortable. I will definitely visit again on my next trip. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

The Mitarashi dango was delicious, and the coffee was also good. There were some bugs even though there were screens on the windows, which was a bit bothersome. But it can't be helped, I guess. Also, there were quite a few warning signs inside the shop, so I hesitated a lot about talking and taking photos.笑

In the middle of sightseeing in Kyoto, I wanted to take a break and have a relaxing cup of tea as I started to get tired from walking around temples and shrines. The nearest station is Kyoto Kawaramachi. This cafe is located a little north of Bukkoji Street, along the Takase River. They are open until 8:00 pm during the pandemic, making it perfect for a nighttime cafe visit. Although photography is not allowed inside, the seating is arranged to overlook the Takase River, creating a calming atmosphere. They have strict COVID-19 measures in place, including wearing masks while chatting in a low voice. At first, I was a bit nervous about the no photography rule and the strict atmosphere, but it turned out to be a very relaxing and comfortable place. I ordered a cafe au lait (¥600), coffee (¥500), and a mini dorayaki (¥150). The cute mini dorayaki and coffee were a perfect match. The coffee had a lovely aroma and was delicious. I liked it so much that I bought some beans to take home later. The mini dorayaki was just the right amount of sweetness to satisfy my craving. They also sell two types of beans: a medium-dark roast brand (¥550/100g) and a dark roast for cafe au lait (¥600/100g). I purchased 100g of the brand beans. I was able to relax and discuss our sightseeing schedule for the rest of the day. It was a great experience!

I wonder if the photo was not good.... In the evening, all the restaurants were full and I couldn't get in, so I happened to be lured by the smell of coffee and ended up at this shop. It was a great find! The menu mentioned organic coffee roasted in-house, and it had no bitterness or acidity, just the good flavors of the beans coming through with a rich taste! The coffee was incredibly delicious! The view along the Takase River was also nice, but I was mostly focused on processing work emails.... The hot sandwich was also delicious! I definitely want to come back for a refill of coffee next time.

*Strawberry Milk Kakigori ¥800* *Cafe au Lait Float ¥700* Eating kakigori makes me feel like summer has arrived! On this day, it was so hot that it felt like the kakigori was melting, but sitting on the tatami mat and looking out at the Takase River instantly made it feel cooler. The strawberry milk kakigori had homemade syrup and condensed milk. The texture of the strawberry pulp was strong and had a slight popping sensation! The ice was fluffy, with layers of ice, syrup, ice, and syrup, so you could enjoy plenty of syrup until the end. I was surprised by how filling it was, even though it was just ice! The atmosphere inside the shop is quiet and you can relax even if you are alone. However, it may not be suitable for chatting like in a cafe.

You can enjoy a traditional Japanese cafe with a view of the Takase River. Customers take off their shoes and sit on cushions while enjoying a variety of ginger drinks like ginger ale, ginger milk, and ginger Earl Grey. The standout dessert is the crispy caramelized pudding, which costs 700 yen on its own but only 400 yen when ordered with a drink. I tried the pudding with iced coffee, which was rich and flavorful due to being house-roasted. The pudding had a crispy caramelized top as promised, but the pudding itself was lighter than expected. The cafe is a relaxing place to unwind, but there are many rules posted around, including no menu or interior photography, which felt a bit excessive. It might be better to consolidate all the rules into the menu for easier reference.

It was a day when it was raining a little, but I decided to visit a cafe that I had looked up beforehand, so I brought an umbrella and visited the cafe called "Kissa Noboru." It is a townhouse cafe renovated from a traditional Kyoto townhouse, where you take off your shoes before entering. The seat I was guided to was a table and chair facing the window, allowing me to enjoy tea while looking at the Takase River flowing in front of me. Since there are cherry blossom trees lining the river, it must be a luxurious space during the cherry blossom season. I ordered coffee and a mini dorayaki. The texture of the dough was like a taiyaki, and it matched well with the two types of azuki bean paste, cherry blossom, and regular. It was very delicious. It was raining heavily when I was at the cafe, so it was a nice place to take shelter from the rain.

A popular café featured in magazines. When I went around 3 pm, it was crowded due to snack time. The first-floor seats with a view of the river were full, so I went to the second floor, but even the window seats were taken, so I sat at a regular table. If you value the view, it might be better to avoid peak times. This time, I ordered a mini dorayaki and chai, while my companion had pudding and coffee. The dorayaki had the word "up" imprinted on it, which was very cute. However, the taste was completely different from regular dorayaki. The outer layer was like a pancake, and the sweetness was overall subtle. It was a unique taste that could become addictive, especially when paired with a sweet drink. My top recommendation this time is the pudding! The caramelized top was very hard, which was great! When you break it, there's a crunchy sound in your mouth. The firm texture adds to the satisfying eating experience! The pudding itself was not too sweet, and it paired really well with the caramel. Overall, it's a place where you can relax and take a breather as time passes by slowly. I couldn't enjoy the view this time, so I want to come back for a rematch.

I was planning to go on a café hopping adventure and came across this charming café. I was a bit disappointed to see a sign on the door stating their regular closing day, but just as I was about to walk away, the door creaked open. It turns out they were open this month despite their usual closing day. Lucky me! The interior of the café had a calming atmosphere with a view of a stream outside and natural light filling the space. The tatami flooring added to the charm. I decided to order the caramelized pudding. Breaking through the crispy caramelized layer and taking a bite, the perfect balance of the caramel's slight bitterness and the pudding's simple sweetness was incredibly satisfying. It felt like all the tiredness from a day of walking was washed away. I imagined how beautiful the view would be on a sunny day.

I fell in love with this charming townhouse cafe, Kissaten Noboru, so much that I didn't want to leave. The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming, I felt completely at ease. The cute logo "上" is adorable, and the mini dorayaki they served, with a crispy caramelized top, was enough to make me feel content. Sitting by the window, listening to the gentle sounds of the Takase River, I felt truly happy and relaxed. I can see myself becoming a regular whenever I visit Kyoto.

I visited a lovely cafe along the Takase River. It is open relatively late at night, making it convenient to visit. I ordered a hot coffee for 500 yen (tax included) and a mini dorayaki for 150 yen (tax included). I love dorayaki with a cute "up" imprint, which always lifts my spirits. The mini dorayaki, lightly warmed, was just the right size to enjoy with a crispy texture.

I was strolling around Gion, but before I knew it, I had wandered quite far. It was dusk. The area around dusk is lovely. As I walked along the river, I saw someone relaxing by the window of a building on the other side. A cafe, perhaps? The nostalgic atmosphere was irresistible, so I decided to visit the shop. It was a cafe with traditional tatami seating. It seemed like an old house was converted into a cafe. It was a two-story building, and since the first floor was full, I went up to the second floor. Unfortunately, the window seats were taken, but the atmosphere was still wonderful. I couldn't resist it. It reminded me of the latte art cafe I visited in Furukawa recently. This time, I only had a drink, but they also had unique sweets like mini dorayaki. I wonder when I can come back again. I want to come back and sit by the window, enjoying tea and sweets while looking out at the river.

I always rely on this place during my solo trips to Kyoto. The interior of the restaurant, which is renovated from an old Japanese house, requires you to take off your shoes before entering. When you sit by the window, you can see the Takase River flowing outside. Many people come here to quietly read books or organize their notebooks. - Coffee (500 yen): A light blend with minimal acidity and a mild bitterness that is easy to drink. Whether it's medium roast or brewed slowly, it tastes delicious. - Mini Dorayaki (150 yen): The mini-sized dorayaki may be small, but it has a good thickness and a satisfying texture. The red bean paste is not too sweet and has a softness that melts in your mouth. Taking photos inside the restaurant is generally not allowed, but I had permission in the past and will share the photos I took. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

At night, while walking along the Takase River, I stumbled upon a retro and quiet café in just the right spot. It feels like a secret hideout that I don't want to be widely known... The pudding and coffee were delicious. Sitting on tatami mats with low tables and floor cushions while gazing at the Takase River is wonderful! (They also have sofas) They are open until 11 pm, so it's perfect for a quick visit after drinking, for when you need a little more conversation, or for reading alone. You can also buy coffee beans. Next time, I want to try the mini dorayaki!

Simple and light mini dorayaki with coffee for 650 yen. The atmosphere of the shop renovated from an old folk house was really nice. I wonder what kind of beans they used for the coffee.
