This is my third time visiting this restaurant, and I added them as a friend on LINE after a good experience last time. However, sadly, things have changed. First, when I asked about the lunch menu, I was told, "We don't have a lunch menu." I could have sworn they had a more affordable lunch option before. There used to be a sign outside too. I was a bit worried when I didn't see the sign before entering. "We offer free rice and cabbage refills for those who have registered on LINE," they said. But wait, wasn't the free refills available even without registering before? Although Katsugyu is a chain restaurant, I want to believe that they have a consistent policy nationwide, but the changes are hard to believe. The restaurant is small and located near Kyoto Station, crowded with tourists (including many from overseas) with their suitcases taking up even more space. I recommended this place to a friend after my last visit, but I won't be going back. It's a shame.

I visited the restaurant around 12:00 on a weekday and had to wait for about 2 groups, probably about 15 minutes. It was my first time, so I decided to try the most popular item, the sirloin steak. It was tender, but there were some parts that were a bit tough. I also tried the Southwestern-style miso sauce for an additional 150 yen, but I felt it wasn't necessary as the steak was already flavorful on its own. The minced cutlet was the juiciest and most delicious I've had so far, with a thick and meaty texture.

When I heard about beef cutlets, I didn't have a clear image of whether it was beef cutlet or Milanese cutlet. I entered the line before the store opened and ordered the Beef Tenderloin Cutlet Kyoto Tamazen. It is made from lean beef tenderloin, which is low in fat and high in protein. I enjoyed it with beef tongue sauce, wasabi, and Japanese pepper. The beef cutlet was rare and crispy. This restaurant is also expanding overseas to Canada, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, etc.

In the Yodobashi store in Kyoto, there is a restaurant called Gyu Katsu Kyoto Kachigyu! They are known for their rare beef cutlet that is fried for only a few seconds! They have a variety of dipping sauces which is great. If you add them as a friend on LINE, you can receive coupons. I was able to get in right away on a weekday night without waiting in line!

I visited the long-awaited Kyoto Katsugyu restaurant and ordered the Assorted Sirloin and Fillet. The food was served quickly, almost immediately after ordering. However, the meat was smaller than expected. The sirloin was okay with slightly tough fibers, but the fillet was tender and delicious. One good thing was that if you show the talk screen of adding a LINE friend, you can get unlimited refills of rice, red miso soup, and cabbage. It was nice that the staff accepted the refills without any unpleasant expressions.

The autumn foliage season is crowded everywhere, and we almost ended up being unable to find dinner. Even the tonkatsu restaurant had a line outside, and we waited for about 20 minutes. I ordered the sirloin steak, and the meat was tender and delicious. Thank you for the meal, I would love to visit again if I have the chance. (^^)

I didn't have much time for lunch, so I went to this place near the hotel! It was tasty, but the meat quality was lacking a bit! It just didn't have that satisfaction of beef cutlet! Well, it's okay for a quick lunch option, I guess.

This is a chain restaurant located along Shichijo Street near Kyoto Station, specializing in beef cutlet set meals. I visited for lunch and found that the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed as there were not many of them. The restaurant is small with a narrow entrance and deep interior. The highlight of the lunch menu is a combination of beef sirloin cutlet and minced cutlet set meal. It costs 990 yen before tax, which comes to 1,089 yen after tax. By adding the restaurant on LINE, you can get free refills of rice, miso soup, and cabbage. Depending on the menu you order, my lunch arrived in less than 5 minutes. However, a group of four people who ordered a more expensive set meal received their food only when I was finishing mine. The price is reasonable, but the cutlets were smaller than expected. The beef cutlet could have been cooked a bit more as it was a bit rare in the middle, making it difficult to chew. The minced cutlet, on the other hand, was small but juicy when bitten into. It had a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior, which was delicious. Since each set comes with multiple side dishes, it was enjoyable to try different combinations. Thank you for the meal.

You can enjoy various ways of eating such as wasabi soy sauce, sansho salt, and beef cutlet sauce. It is made from rare cutlet of lean meat, so there is no guilt about the fat content. The breading is made with fine breadcrumbs, giving it a simple and crispy texture. Eating it with sansho salt was the most delicious. The rice is barley rice, giving it a chewy texture! It is located near the station, so it was bustling with many customers. ☺️✨

I visited the restaurant around 18:45 on a weekday. There was one group of customers and one person already there. I ordered the Assorted Beef Cutlet Set which included beef sirloin cutlet and beef loin cutlet for 1749 yen. The beef loin cutlet was a bit tough to chew, maybe because it was redder in color. Both cutlets were delicious. On weekends, many restaurants have long lines, but I couldn't tell if it's worth waiting in line for, as my taste buds are not very discerning.

Hello, it's me. Located in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. The atmosphere of the place is important, right? The restaurant was bustling with customers. After a short wait, we were seated.
I had the Beef Fillet Katsu Kyoto Tamazan and the Pork Loin Katsu Set (mixed). The beautifully presented beef cutlet was rare fried, crispy on the outside and full of the delicious taste of the meat inside. It had a bit of a strong fat flavor, but it was delicious.
You can enjoy various condiments like wasabi soy sauce, sansho pepper salt, and sauce. My recommendation is the wasabi soy sauce, which really brings out the deliciousness of the meat and leaves a refreshing taste. I also combined the warm egg and curry in a separate dish to make my own "Katsu Curry", which was very satisfying.
Local gourmet food is wonderful. Thank you for the meal.

The Kyoto Station Front store was located a little walk from the station, not right in front of it. I lined up in the rain, but it was worth it. The rare beef cutlet was delicious. It was my first time trying beef tongue cutlet, but it's a dish I want to eat again. The staff were all very kind.

Lunch at Kyoto Katsugyu, a place that used to have long lines. I tried the beef loin and minced cutlet set with a variety of dipping sauces, including curry sauce, wasabi, and mustard for different flavors. The minced cutlet was juicy and the loin was delicious, making the rice disappear quickly. I wished the loin slices were a bit thicker, but it was still enjoyable. The staff mentioned that the long lines were for an all-you-can-eat event, which made sense. After satisfying my hunger, I returned to work. Thank you for the meal!

When I feel like eating beef, I always come here. It's beef cutlet. There are three types of seasoning: Kyoto-style dashi soy sauce, salt and pepper, and wasabi Japanese-style sauce. Let's call it Japanese-style beef cutlet. You can have unlimited refills of cabbage and red miso soup! Steak is good too, but in terms of cost performance, this place is a must!

This year is the year of the Ox. So, I visited the Bunshi Tenmangu Shrine, which enshrines Sugawara no Michizane and cows, for my first shrine visit of the year. On my way back to Kyoto Station after praying, I decided to have lunch at a somewhat unusual beef cutlet specialty store. The atmosphere of the store, both inside and out, doesn't give off a high-end vibe but rather feels like a regular set meal restaurant. The young staff members have a friendly and soft demeanor. I ordered the beef cutlet rice bowl. It came with a bowl of sticky barley rice, a generous amount of beef cutlet, and plenty of green onions. A sprinkle of sansho pepper on top. It took about 3 minutes from ordering to the dish being brought to the table. The beef cutlet seemed to be fried at high temperature for a short time, resulting in a crispy and satisfying coating with a juicy and tender red meat inside. It was delicious on its own, but dipping it in the half-cooked egg with dashi brought out the richness of the red meat even more. It's a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and for up to 2000 yen, you can enjoy a decent amount and quality of meat for lunch. Overall, I think it's a restaurant worth knowing about, and I really enjoyed the meal.

We went as a family! When we were thinking about what to eat in Kyoto, we chose a meal that we could easily return to the hotel afterwards because it was during the self-restraint period. The tonkatsu was delicious, but the beef cutlet was also good with its refreshing taste. I never thought about dipping it in onsen tamago (hot spring egg)!! There are also places nearby, but the deliciousness of eating in Kyoto is something else. The service was very polite and the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. Thank you for the meal. I want to do a lot of sightseeing next time I go to Kyoto.

If you feel like eating beef cutlet, this is the place to go!! You can enjoy it rare, which is the most delicious way to eat it. It's a hearty meal that is also cost-effective, leaving you feeling completely satisfied! In Kansai, you can find it in many commercial facilities near the stations, so you can enjoy it anywhere!

A popular restaurant known for their tonkatsu also serves delicious beef cutlets. I ordered the Demi-Glace one-bite cutlet this time. The recommended way to enjoy it is with a hot spring egg, but I also tried it with the optional grated radish mixed with Demi-Glace, and it was delicious. The sauce was plentiful, and though the cutlet was different from the usual tender parts, it was still tasty. I realized I forgot to use my points card when paying, but I was too satisfied to worry about it.

The double-fried beef cutlet set was delicious! They seem to pay attention to cooking it to medium rare. You can choose the beef cutlet from the menu. It's great that you can enjoy it with various dipping sauces and condiments, so you won't get tired of it. Highly recommend the wasabi soy sauce! It was so delicious! Thank you for the meal!
