I arrived at Kyoto Station without any issues and headed to the underground floor of the building to look for souvenirs for my family. After some deliberation, I managed to make a purchase and all that was left was to head back. So, I decided to visit a nearby izakaya to pass the time. I had already found a nice looking restaurant in advance, so I easily located it. The restaurant was called "Kyoto Heso," apparently related to the standing bar "Heso" in Shinbashi. There was a sign at the entrance advertising a special deal where a specific type of shochu was only 99 yen per glass. I couldn't resist and went inside. The place was quite busy, but I had no trouble finding a seat. I started with a watered-down shochu toast. It was a bit weak, but since it was my last drink, it didn't bother me. The manager was a dignified person with a great personality. While sipping on my shochu, I reflected on the day. However, I got thirsty and ordered another watered-down shochu within 5 minutes. Even the manager seemed surprised. Then, our ordered appetizer arrived, which seemed to be oden. Both of us were quite relaxed, enjoying our drinks. But the second item we ordered was taking a while to arrive. After about 10 minutes, it was time for the third glass of watered-down shochu. I called the manager to confirm our order. "Oh, it's coming right up," was the usual excuse. The appetizer finally arrived - "Shirako Ponzu" and "Shirako Nigiri." This led to me ordering another glass of shochu. However, this unexpected turn of events led to a commotion. Wait, what time was our departure again? It was already past 7:50 PM. If this was Shizuoka Station, I would know where to go, but it was Kyoto Station. Being a bit tipsy, getting lost could be dangerous. My relaxed mood disappeared, and I quickly finished my drink, paid the bill, and rushed out of the restaurant. Everything was the fault of that shirako. As I left, I realized there were less than 10 minutes left until my train's departure. Despite my previous experience, I barely made it to the train on time. The train left Kyoto Station and I safely returned to Shizuoka without any issues. Farewell, Kyoto, and thank you for the meal.
