I found a roll cake shop right behind the Kinkakuji-michi bus stop! It seemed like a new store with flowers displayed outside. I decided to go in since they had a café space. I ordered the classic fresh cream roll and coffee first, and then I was drawn to the limited-time offer of cherry blossom roll cake. The interior of the shop had a bright atmosphere with white as the main color. It wasn't very spacious, but it was a nice place to take a break. The roll cakes were delicious! The fresh cream roll had a light cream with a subtle taste. The cake itself was not too soft, which I liked. I could easily finish one whole roll by myself. The cherry blossom roll had a slightly firmer cake base and the cherry blossom flavor really got me in the mood for spring. When I asked the staff, they mentioned that they use special eggs in their cakes. That's why they also have a menu item like egg over rice.

The other day, I saw a limited-time shop at Marui in Shijo Kawaramachi, Kyoto, and I wanted to try the desserts I saw there. They all looked simple but that made them even more delicious. I was particularly interested in the Red Velvet Roll and the creamy custard & fresh cream roll, but I decided to only get one this time, so after much deliberation, I chose the custard & fresh cream roll. When I got home, I enjoyed it with my favorite chamomile tea. The fluffy texture of the dough was amazing. Next time, I definitely want to buy the Velvet Roll. Thank you for the delicious treat.
