During my stay at Hotel Monterey, I searched for a baby-friendly restaurant and decided to try Okinawan cuisine, which I love (I've been to Okinawa about 10 times). I started with an Orion beer as an aperitif, followed by plum wine. For Okinawan dishes, I ordered "Jimami tofu," "Island pickles," and "Goya champuru," all of which were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The tofu was firm, the pickles were whole and flavorful, and the champuru had a strong dashi flavor with plenty of Goya. Feeling confident in my choice, I added another Orion beer, spring rolls, seaweed vinegar, fried chicken, juushi (pork soup), and Soki soba. The fried chicken had a curry spice flavor, which paired well with the drinks. The portion of juushi was generous, and although the fried chicken wasn't traditionally Okinawan, it was still tasty. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, and the bill came out to be around 9,000 yen for two people, which was a pleasant surprise. I would love to visit this restaurant again when I'm in the area (they had 107 types of plum wine, which I wanted to ask the owner about, but they seemed busy). Looking forward to the next visit!
