I haven't been to Nara at all, but I come to Kyoto occasionally. Last time, there were some things that didn't quite satisfy me, so even though I didn't have much time, I came to buy and confirm! ⚫︎ Hiro Special Croquette 130 yen x 3 pieces This time, I bought 3 pieces again. When I microwaved them at home, they smelled really good. When they're hot, the taste is a bit blurry, so I let them cool down a bit. Still, I feel like the meatiness has diminished compared to before (´・_・`) ⚫︎ Hiro's Specialty Minced Cutlet 160 yen When I microwaved it, it seemed to have shrunk a bit? It's juicy with a rich meaty flavor, but the aftertaste is a bit oily maybe. ⚫︎ Today's Grilled Bento 1200 yen There's a big piece of meat on top. If I microwave it as is, the pickles also get heated up and the smell becomes stronger (^_^;) Despite having chili peppers, the sauce tastes sweet. The meat is tender and delicious, but since there's only one piece, it's gone in no time, and there's not much rice, so it feels a bit expensive. It's tasty, but overall, it lacks a meaty taste.

Yakiniku Hiro now has various branches and a wide range of budgets, so I often go there, but it had been a long time since I visited this takeout shop. Probably about 10 years! First of all, the appearance had changed a lot. The area for buying meat and the area for buying side dishes and bento were separated, so I could easily grab a bento without waiting. Also, when choosing a bento and paying, the inside of the shop looked spacious, and I was impressed by the staff cutting the meat, which seemed very authentic. By the way, it was self-checkout. Self-checkout has become more common recently, but personally, I find it convenient and like it. As for the bento, it was quite reasonable. There was so much meat and fried food included for the price, I was surprised. There were many types of bento, so I would like to try buying one again if I happen to be nearby to avoid waiting another 10 years.

It's been a while since I visited Kyoto Station (about 4 months?). Whenever I come to Kyoto Station, I have to stop by here. I arrived around 6 pm and the bento boxes were already sold out. I bought 3 croquettes. When I got home, I microwaved one. Huh? It wasn't as impressive as before. I couldn't taste the sweetness of the meat at all! I microwaved the second one. This one also tasted different from before. It lacked the richness of the meat. If the meat tastes like this, it's not much different from buying it anywhere else. I thought while microwaving the third one and eating it. !!! This one had the sweetness of the meat! Do the flavors vary depending on the item? Individual differences shouldn't be allowed (´・_・`). I bought the new special beef skewer cutlet that was newly released (there was also a sign saying it has been improved to be more delicious). This one was definitely all about the meaty flavor. It was a bit firm. This time, there was some variation in taste, which was a bit disappointing. Looking forward to the next time.

This is a time-shifted post. The visit date may not necessarily match the posting date. I tried the special skewered cutlet at Hiro, located in front of Kyoto Station. It cost 200 yen. It was a large skewered cutlet with onions inside, offering a satisfying meal. It was delicious.

I bought some croquettes before and they were delicious. Since the store had shortened hours, I decided to buy them before leaving. I put them in my eco bag, but the smell of fried food was so strong that people I met that day might have wondered where the smell was coming from. At night, I reheated them and ate them. - Special croquette: Still packed with the deliciousness of meat, it was extremely tasty. It's currently my favorite croquette. I will definitely buy it again next time I come to Kyoto. - Hiro's special minced cutlet: This was my first time buying this. It also had the deliciousness of meat, but it was a bit oily. Still tasty though. I hope they will be open until I can buy a bento box next time.

When it comes to yakiniku in Kyoto, Kodo is the place to go. It offers delicious food at a reasonable price with a great atmosphere, making it a top choice for yakiniku in the area. This time, unfortunately, I had to settle for a bento to eat at home instead of dining in. However, I have heard good things about Kodo from my colleagues, who often buy their bento boxes from the store at Aeon. Kodo has a variety of bento options, including ones featuring domestic black wagyu beef and a selection of premium beef. I opted for a bento that included both steak (or rather roast beef) and yakiniku (or beef bowl). The steak was thick and satisfying, while the yakiniku was flavorful and plentiful, making it a great choice for a meal. The bento also included a slice of pumpkin and two pieces of bamboo shoots, keeping the focus on the meat. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food, especially considering the reasonable price of 1,650 yen.

In the final days of the year during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shinkansen train was sparsely populated. I tried the open hamburger steak and yakiniku bento for 1,080 yen. The bento had yakiniku on one side, hamburger steak on the other, with simmered bamboo shoots and pumpkin in between. The yakiniku was delicious, but there was not enough rice to balance the sweet and savory flavors. The hamburger steak was thick and flavorful, with a layer of shredded egg underneath. The bamboo shoots were sweet and the pumpkin was just right. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, even though the rice portion was small.

Here is the famous Kyoto meat shop, Hiro Kyoto store. Located in The CUBE on the 2nd floor of JR Kyoto Station's west exit ticket gate. This is a popular shop that sells take-out bento boxes and side dishes. The items I purchased this time were: Hamburger Steak & Yakiniku Bento for 980 yen (tax included), Gokai Sugata Yaki Bento for 1,100 yen (tax included), Hiro's Kalbi Yakiniku Bento for 1,300 yen (tax included), and Croquette for 130 yen (tax included). The yakiniku in the Hamburger & Yakiniku Bento is made with finely chopped pork belly and onions mixed with a sweet sauce, quite tasty. The hamburger is average. The Gokai Sugata Yaki Bento was the best, with thin but good quality meat. The Kalbi in Hiro's Kalbi Yakiniku Bento is delicious, but I wish it was a bit thicker. The croquette is average. Overall, the meat quality is good and the sauce is tasty. The bento boxes are well-made, making me want to visit their yakiniku restaurant. It's nice that they don't focus on the place of origin. Many restaurants claim to care about the origin but end up using fake information, so it's refreshing to see a place that prioritizes taste over origin.

This shop is located at the southern end of the souvenir section near Kyoto Station, the north-south free passage, and Isetan. I bought it to eat on the Shinkansen during the noon hour. The beef bento here is delicious, but since it has only one flavor, I tried the half with the hamburger. It cost 1080 yen. The hamburger is slightly spicy, has a good chewy texture, and you can taste the meat flavor. It's quite high quality, and I would consider buying it on its own. However, at the current temperature, the beef and hamburger both seemed a bit firm in texture. It was mostly indoors, with a maximum temperature of 20°C, so it wasn't particularly cold. Also, I felt that it was slightly salty overall. It might be because it's a bento, though.

Wandering around the station building, I happened to try a croquette sample and it was amazingly delicious! The croquette had such a rich meaty flavor that I've never tasted before. I immediately bought one and also got a half-size grilled meat bento because I was sure the meat here must be delicious. I had eaten a lot of meat at Shinfukunakan before coming here, so I wasn't very hungry even when I returned to the hotel. So, I decided to have the croquette for breakfast the next day. Even though it had cooled down, it was still full of meaty sweetness and the filling was soft and melted in my mouth. It was delicious whether warm or cold. I only bought one, but I feel like I could eat many more. I wonder why it's only available in Kyoto. I heated up the half-size grilled meat bento at home and enjoyed it with a beer. It was more like a beef bowl than grilled meat, but it was also incredibly delicious. The meat was just too good. It felt like I finished it in a second. I wanted to pair it with Kyoto beer, but since it wasn't cold, I had it with Osaka beer instead. Kitashinchi beer. It's a Kölsch, so it's not very bitter and easy to pair with meals. They only offer takeout for bentos and such, but it seems they also have a grilled meat restaurant. It must be absolutely delicious. I really want to go eat there!

I visited the bento shop "Yakiniku Hiro-san" that I had been curious about since before. I bought the half yakiniku bento for breakfast. The bento box is small, but it is filled with plenty of yakiniku on top of the rice. The seasoning is not too sweet or too spicy, and I think it is simply delicious. However, I didn't feel any special feeling that it was "Yakiniku Hiro-san" instead of another shop. Perhaps I should have ordered the steak bento at this shop? I would like to try it next time.

My name is Hiroshi. The break was in 2004. My name is Hiroshi. It's the same name as Chibi Maruko-chan's father. My name is Hiroshi. This shop is pronounced "Hiro". It is a complex store on the second floor on the west side of Kyoto Station, on the north-south free passage. This passage has the entrance of Isetan, JR conventional line, Shinkansen, and Kintetsu. In the Hiro corner, there are several types of bento lined up. It seems that the staff in charge are Hiro's. I took it home and ate it. It was soft beef and onions. It had a perfect sweetness. My name is Hiroshi. Yakiniku bento (Kiosk) including tax, 980 yen. Broccoli makes you cry. My name is Hiroshi.

I happened to pass by and got some menchi katsu and croquettes to go. I warmed them up in the toaster at home. The menchi katsu had a thick coating that didn't get crispy, and it had a strong meaty and oily flavor. It had a good presence and was quite tasty with a satisfying volume. The croquette was fluffy with a comforting sweet potato flavor that was delicious. It might make a nice souvenir as a takeout option. Having both the menchi katsu and croquette was quite filling. I'd like to try their bento box next time. Thank you for the meal.

When I visited the newly renovated Subaco, I found that Hiro was operating there. Although I had heard of it before, I had never been because I'm not a fan of yakiniku. They had yakiniku bento boxes available for takeout, but I spotted menchi katsu in the showcase near the register and couldn't resist buying one. I was a bit peckish, so I ate it right away. It wasn't freshly fried, but it was crispy on the outside and the meat inside was very juicy! It was a bit rare, and the more I chewed, the sweeter the flavor became. I realized that this is what people mean by meat being sweet! At 200 yen per piece, the quality was excellent and I was very satisfied. The aftertaste was surprisingly refreshing, and it might just be the best menchi katsu I've ever had. It was a menchi katsu where you could really taste the meat.

I stopped by this place on my way to the Shinkansen gate after leaving Isetan. My daughter requested "I want to eat meat for dinner!" on Line, so I decided to stop by here. I have had the bento with a large piece of meat on it a few times before, so this time I chose something different... and ended up choosing this bento. It had plenty of beef skirt meat and onions on top of the rice. The sweet and savory seasoning was like sukiyaki, with just the right richness. I couldn't stop eating with chopsticks. My daughter and I shared it, but it was gone in no time (laughs). The price was around 1000 yen. This is definitely a repeat order. Easy to make reservations - Will definitely revisit. Thank you for the meal~.

You can find regular yakiniku bento boxes on the Shinkansen trains, but for a more extravagant experience, try the Gokai Shoyaki bento here. While the regular ones are delicious enough, you should definitely try this one at least once.
