Today, I came here. This popular udon restaurant has three locations in Kyoto. The main store in the same city of Joyo was rejected by a newly opened ramen shop, and I happened to search and found this gem (*^^*) Before going, when I looked at the Tabelog map, I was surprised to find out that this place is along the old Route 307 that I used to frequent in the past!! Just a few kilometers away is the famous "Ore no Ramen Appareya" ramen shop. After passing through the mountain pass and going a little further, I would pass by my friend's factory, and despite passing by frequently for a long time, I never noticed it at all ( ´゚д゚`) Surprisingly, I decided to visit this place on the way to my colleague's place (*^▽^*) I arrived before 1 o'clock... The parking lot next to it was full, but when I entered, the restaurant was almost full as well (( ̄▽ ̄;)) Despite being in such a local area, it was amazing! The interior of the restaurant, with a TV playing, had a charming atmosphere, with the kitchen on the left side, a L-shaped counter with 7 seats, a raised tatami room on the right side, and another room in the back where you take off your shoes to sit. It is run by three middle-aged men and women. The menu consists of only "udon". There are toppings, drinks, white rice, ginger rice (limited quantity), and a kids menu, all reasonably priced like the main store. I ordered the popular "Beef Tendon Curry Udon (limited quantity) & white rice (medium)". When I looked at the owner from the counter, he was stretching the kneaded udon dough with a long wooden stick, cutting it with a special tool, and boiling it (‘∀‘ ) It was quite a lively scene♪ It seems like they also cater to regular customers... They also take phone orders for takeout, etc. After about 25 minutes, it arrived. The udon noodles were thin, oval-shaped, with a transparent appearance and a mild saltiness. The noodles were soft and chewy, with a good stretch and a gentle and mysterious texture similar to the main store♪ The curry roux was slightly spicy and light, with a strong dashi flavor, giving it a taste of adult curry. Inside were tenderly simmered beef tendons and green onions. The rice was average, but the pickles served with it had a bit of moisture and a slightly risky taste w The meal was finished with a wipe of sweat with tissues... It was so comforting and HOT♪ Today, the sun was strong and it was sweating, and there was someone eating zaru udon, which looked very delicious with a refreshing texture♡ I'm really curious about trying this unique udon with a firm texture tightened with cold water (‘∀‘ ) When it gets a little colder, I'll try the broth-based udon at the remaining shop, "Fushimi Branch" ( ・∇・) Despite being in such a remote mountain area, the customer service was somewhat Kyoto-like with "ookini" (thank you) w○ Thank you for the meal. Personal perspective☆ Not wheelchair accessible, Washlets on the right side in the middle, and there are about 10 parking spaces on the premises.
