There are various menus available, which is good. They have sashimi and even kottechan (laughs). The seasoning suits my taste as well. I also like the sushi here. There are many good points about this place, but I can't stop listing them all. The restaurant itself is still new and very clean. The food is delicious and the prices are not too high, which is perfect for me. Fancy traditional Japanese restaurants can be surprisingly expensive, but I have never thought they were that delicious. Of course, there are many good restaurants out there, but they are too expensive for me. Tsukinohana is more affordable and that's great. Additional note: I got some sushi to go and gave it to a friend. They were delighted and said it was the most delicious sushi they had in Kyoto in a long time. It cost 5700 yen for 2 pieces of nigiri sushi. (^^)v

A narrow entrance typical of Kyoto near Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. When driving, use the nearby coin parking lot. The shop has a counter-centered layout with a few tatami rooms towards the back. The staff warmly welcome you, and the clean kitchen where they cook fresh ingredients instills trust. The menu focuses on seafood and vegetables, with each dish showcasing the flavors of the ingredients. The staff strike a good balance of being nearby but not overly intrusive, allowing you to enjoy your meal comfortably. This is a wonderful place to indulge in delicious food when you feel like treating yourself.

At the counter, I enjoyed watching the skillful chef while having a drink! The deep-fried fluffy tofu (really fluffy, I'm telling you) with hot yuba sauce over taro, and the sight of the chef shaving bonito flakes right in front of me and adding them to the dishes had me mesmerized. Delicious! Especially the hand-made rice ball with small dried fish. It was so tasty. I found out that they also sell their homemade dried small fish for takeout at 1,200 yen. I can't wait to enjoy it at home. The location was a bit hard to find, but I definitely want to come back to this place! However, it was a bit pricey.
