Ginza Sansuya Ginza Namiki Street, just finished work in the morning. There is a shop I always want to visit during the oyster season. I will go to that shop. This one area hasn't changed at all, right? In this season (March), they have oyster fry. It's like a winter tradition on Namiki Street. The only thing that remains unchanged in this area is Sansuya. The entrance is tucked away from Namiki Street. Let's go inside. The set meal looks something like this. I ordered the oyster fry set for 1600 yen. The sign outside the shop says oyster fry, but the menu inside says oyster fry. Not a big deal. First, pickles and tea are served. Then, the oyster fry arrives. Rice and miso soup are served, and everything is ready. Five large oyster fries. A winter treat that you can't resist when you visit Ginza. The feature of this shop is that they provide seafood dishes that are worth the price. It's not cheap, but the quality of the food justifies the price. Below are photos from a night visit in June 2016. Looks like a sashimi platter. This is the shop's specialty chicken tofu. Below are photos from a daytime visit in December 2013. It's been 10 years, but the atmosphere of the shop hasn't changed. It seems they ordered the oyster fry set. Near this shop, there used to be Ginza Namiki-za, a serious movie theater that showed classic Japanese films. All the old buildings have been turned into commercial buildings, but this one old area remains, so keep up the good work.

I revisited a popular izakaya near Kyo Bridge after visiting Kajima Art in September 2023. I had the "Seafood Bowl Set Meal for 1,600 yen including tax" with less rice. The seafood bowl, served in a porcelain bowl, consisted of sliced seaweed sprinkled on warm white rice, with two slices each of sea bream, bonito, tuna, yellowtail, octopus, ikura, marinated mackerel, scallop pillars, and sweet shrimp. The thick slices of fish were fresh and delicious, but the only downside was that the rice was too soft! I also enjoyed the turnip and cabbage pickles, as well as the hot namako and tofu miso soup. It was a satisfying lunch. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went to a traditional casual Japanese cuisine restaurant in Ginza for the first time, and it was really good. The atmosphere of the place was nostalgic, and all the dishes were well-prepared. Especially the fish dishes were fresh. I never expected to find such a great restaurant in Ginza in many ways. I truly found a wonderful restaurant.

Located in the heart of Ginza, surrounded by brand shops, Sanzuya has remained unchanged over the years. This popular casual dining spot is open all day, serving set meals, drinks, and snacks. Their seafood dishes are particularly outstanding. The clientele ranges from local office workers popping in for a quick meal to those who seem to be idling away the afternoon, to glamorous club hostesses and their clients. The diverse atmosphere of Ginza is welcoming and comforting. In this era of diversity, Sanzuya exudes a deep sense of acceptance that has always been there, with a classy charm that never feels cheap. It's a wonderful place that I hope will continue to thrive.

Popular traditional Japanese restaurant Sansuya Ginza main store. There were seats available.
- Seafood rice bowl set meal (1,600 yen): The fish was fresh and delicious! Especially the squid and mackerel were tasty. Also, the miso soup with a rich texture was delicious!
- Assorted sashimi (1,300 yen): Enjoyed sashimi other than the seafood rice bowl. The amberjack sashimi served as an appetizer was also delicious!

I went to Sanshu-ya, a popular casual Japanese restaurant in Ginza 2-chome, on September 11th. I ordered the Silver Whiting Simmered Set Meal with Chicken and Tofu for 1450 yen. The chicken and tofu dish was delicious, especially with the addition of spring greens instead of komatsuna. The Silver Whiting was fluffy and tasty as always, and the generous serving of pickles was also great. Everything was satisfying except for the komatsuna. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived around 2:30 pm on a holiday and went straight in. This longstanding casual izakaya in Ginza was bustling even on a holiday afternoon. This time, I had the Special Seafood Bowl Set Meal! The tuna was thick and satisfying to eat. It also had luxurious sea urchin on top, fresh and delicious. I was supposed to get miso soup as well, but I think it was forgotten! (laughs) Getting this quality of sashimi in Ginza for 2,200 yen is a great deal. Highly recommended for those who want to drink in Ginza from lunchtime! Thank you for the meal! Check out my other posts too! I also have an Instagram (@ranko_foodie). Thank you!

Around 7:00 pm on Saturday, I visited with one other person. There were about four groups waiting outside, and it seemed to be a popular teishoku (set meal) restaurant in Ginza. Even in the evening, they offer teishoku meals, but about 80% of the customers seemed to be there for drinks. I had the Anago Fry teishoku for 1,500 yen. I haven't eaten Anago Fry much before, but it was decently delicious. Personally, I wish the pieces were a bit larger, but it was a fry that would go well with alcohol. Honestly, if you're looking to eat in Ginza, there seem to be other good options besides this place.

I went to the restaurant right after it opened, and the place was empty, so I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal. The fried horse mackerel was crispy, but lacked the flavor of the fish. The salad had fruits in it, which may be a hit or miss depending on personal preference. The staff was friendly, but I noticed the chef and other staff members taking breaks or chatting, which was a bit distracting. The menu has a variety of dishes, so I would like to try it again on another occasion.

I visited around 7:30 PM on a regular day. The restaurant was almost full and we were seated at a large table for two. Despite being in Ginza, the interior had a casual dining feel, which was exciting. As soon as we sat down, the staff came to take our order. When we asked for recommendations, they suggested the tuna sashimi and meat tofu. We also ordered bonito sashimi. The tuna was thick and packed with the umami flavor of red meat. The bonito was also delicious. The meat in the meat tofu was pork. The tofu, soaked in a sweet and savory broth with the meat fat, was a delightful mix. We also ordered chicken tofu as an extra, which we ate with ponzu sauce. The restaurant was a bit noisy and bustling, giving off a nostalgic pub vibe. It was a fun experience. Thank you for the meal!

I gave up on the fried horse mackerel lunch I had my eye on in Kyobashi because of the huge line, but my stomach was set on fried horse mackerel, so I decided to go to Misuya for the first time in a while. It was before the peak time, so I was able to enter smoothly and ordered the fried horse mackerel set meal for 1400 yen. It's a traditional place where they serve hot green tea even in this scorching heat. The set meal was served in a few minutes. The lightly fried horse mackerel was delicious, with three pieces - two with soy sauce and the last one with sauce and mustard. The fresh horse mackerel was juicy and made me happy. I feel like the prices have gone up quite a bit since the old days, but I guess it can't be helped in this day and age... I think the special seafood bowl is the best deal. I will definitely come back!

I visited around 8:30 pm because I wanted to eat dinner. When I entered the restaurant, they asked if I wanted to eat or just drink since they only serve rice or drinks in the evening. It was about half and half in terms of customers. I had the special seafood bowl, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. Since Tsukiji and Toyosu are close by, the freshness is guaranteed. The older woman working there efficiently managed the elderly customers, which was great to see. They do not accept reservations.

A few days ago, I made a reservation and arrived at 6:30 in the evening. The restaurant was crowded and almost full. We sat at the counter. The menu was very extensive with sashimi, fried dishes, set meals, and more, making it difficult to choose. There were quite a few fish items sold out, maybe because it was late at night, so it's recommended to go earlier. The staff, mostly older ladies, provided service that felt more like being at home rather than formal. The squid sashimi and squid salted guts were delicious! There were also many solo diners at the counter, both men and women coming in casually after work. I thought it was a convenient and easy-to-use restaurant.

When it comes to going to Ginza, my wife gets excited and busy with shopping. She loves to buy high-end gourmet food, pastries from all over the country, clothes, and cosmetics. So, I feel pressured to find a stylish or classy restaurant in Ginza to match her expectations. That's how it is when we go to Ginza together. Today, after a company event in the Ginza area ended after 5 pm, I found myself alone in Ginza. I already knew where I wanted to go in this situation - my favorite restaurant, Sanshu-ya. When I come here with my wife, I feel like she might say, "This is not what I expected!" So, I decided to go alone. I ordered the signature dish, Tori-dofu, and some shellfish sashimi. The gentle taste of the Tori-dofu is perfect even in the summer. It feels like I am taking a little break with each bite. The shellfish sashimi is fresh and crunchy, delicious. I enjoyed some sake and left feeling satisfied. Thank you very much. It was a wonderful meal.

I had some business in Ginza, so I visited Sanshuya for the first time in a while. I arrived at 11:30 and ordered the grilled yellowtail set meal. The staff informed me that it would take a little time. Upon checking the menu again, I realized that the grilled yellowtail was the only grilled dish available. However, it arrived in about 5-6 minutes. The yellowtail had a beautiful color and luster. It came with rice, Nameko mushroom soup, and pickles. The grilled yellowtail was cooked perfectly and had a great teriyaki flavor. It's a level of quality that I would like to include in my lunch routine. However, due to the aging of the building, the restaurant will be closing on September 16th. They will continue to operate at another location. Other customers were enjoying some heavy drinking from noon onwards, which was amusing.

I had been wanting to visit this place for a while since it was featured on TV, and I finally made it. I was able to get in easily by shifting my lunch time. After some hesitation, I ordered the sashimi assortment set, which arrived at the table in about 2-3 minutes. While looking around the restaurant, I noticed an additional paper menu and decided to also order a salmon fry. The sashimi, salmon fry, rice, and pickles were all delicious, nothing extraordinary. The red miso soup was the best part. They also have grilled and simmered dishes, so I would like to try them next time. Thank you for the meal.

Ginza Itchome Station. There was a notice about the branch. Due to the aging of the building, the branch will be closing on 9/16. The main store will continue to operate, but it's also a building with quite a history... The restaurant operates in a corner of the building. It's always popular♪ Today's order: pounded sardine set meal for 1400 yen. Instead of miso soup, it came with chicken tofu. Rice is free for a large serving (I had a regular serving). The fresh pickles were delicious. The sardines were also good. The ponzu sauce for the side dish was lovely. The rice disappeared in no time. Thank you for the meal.

This shop opened a branch inside the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters' main stadium in March 2023. It is located in a narrow alley between buildings in the heart of Ginza. Despite appearing small from the outside, the shop is actually quite spacious, with the ability to accommodate around 50-60 people, including seating on the second floor. The customers seemed to be a mix of regulars, with many wearing hats that suited them well. The atmosphere is reminiscent of traditional dining establishments found in areas like Asakusa and Shibamata. The menu includes a variety of dishes, with the sashimi set meal being a popular choice. The food was served quickly, with the sashimi being particularly delicious. The hot red miso soup and simmered turnip and cabbage were also flavorful. Overall, the experience at this old-fashioned diner was enjoyable, and it's no surprise that it was selected as one of the top 100 shops in the area.

I love the Mitsuya restaurant. I usually go to the Ginza Ichome branch, but this time I decided to visit the main branch. The cheerful staff members create a lively atmosphere in the restaurant. Normally, I always order the fried horse mackerel, but unfortunately it was not available today. So, I tried the seafood bowl that I had been curious about. The fish was fresh! There were plenty of thick slices of sashimi, including red tuna, medium fatty tuna, bonito tataki, octopus, sujiko, whitebait, and scallops. I love fresh fish, so I was very satisfied with the meal. The rice was not seasoned with sushi vinegar, which was a little disappointing, but the deliciousness of the fish made up for it. The pickles and miso soup with enoki mushrooms were also tasty. The saltiness was surprisingly mild compared to the Ginza Ichome branch. I might choose to come here more often from now on.

Today, I was struggling to decide what to eat in the hot weather of Obon, so I ended up going to Sanzuya in Ginza. I thought it might be empty because of Obon, but it was actually packed with people lining up. I ordered a seafood bowl, which was delicious, and wanted to order another dish, but there were still many people waiting, so I quickly paid and left. I will try to come back next time. Thank you for the meal.

Sashimi set meal for 1500 yen, seafood bowl for 1600 yen, both come with free extra rice. The flavor of the sashimi was amazing in all aspects! Especially the sea bream, the moment you put it in your mouth, it's like you're eating a rich broth. It was truly shocking. It was the best sea bream I've ever had in my life. Be prepared for the large portion of extra rice, it's quite substantial.
