I visited this restaurant for lunch during work. I was attracted by the display of various food photos on the floor guide, and the soba noodles looked delicious, so I decided to try it. They offer a wide variety of side dishes and not just soba noodles, but also udon noodles and other menu options. The small dishes are abundant and there are many different combinations available, making it a great choice for those who like to try a little bit of everything. It is conveniently located in front of Kyoto Station and you can also use the Aeon parking lot.

About a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, I went to the Japanese restaurant and sweets shop Soseki KYOTO in AEON Mall Kyoto. I was craving Japanese food and casually walked in. With a wide variety of menu options, I ordered soba, eel, chawanmushi, and more. The prices were reasonable overall, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was calming, allowing me to enjoy my meal leisurely. The name Soseki caught my attention, haha.

I was surprised by the warm zaru soba! I wanted something cooler, so I changed my order from the kaiseki meal to the tempura set, while my friend stuck with the Momoyama kaiseki. When I lifted the soba with my chopsticks, steam rose up! The noodles clumped together like dumplings, with a light aroma and loose texture, which was disappointing. However, the tempura was crispy and the soup suited my taste. There were many menu options and the cost performance was good, which is why we chose this place. My friend said even the dessert was delicious.

There is a variety of Japanese dishes available, with a focus on dishes like 20-grain rice, udon, soba, tempura, tororo rice. I chose the Healthy Set which includes salad, dried radish, warabi mochi, miso soup, chawanmushi, tempura, and tororo rice with 20 grains. The tempura included squid, shrimp, and okra. The Healthy Set is packed with vegetables, and my favorite was the chawanmushi with grilled eel and ginkgo nut inside. Although I wished there was some dashi or soy sauce on the table to add to the tororo rice, the light flavor would appeal to those who prefer a subtle taste. With so many dishes offered, the price of 1300 yen including tax is a great deal! The soba and udon sets are even more satisfying and affordable, making it a great choice when you're feeling hungry!

After attending a funeral planning meeting for my late aunt, we decided to have lunch at Kyoto Aeon Mall with relatives who came by JR train. It was already 2 pm and we were quite hungry, so we chose a soba restaurant because there were elderly family members with us. We ordered the "Ten Zaru Gozen" set which came with sushi and tempura. The soba was decent, but there was a lot of ice water left in the zaru, which was a bit disappointing.

Children love this place and always want to go. They have udon, sushi, and other popular dishes that kids love, plus they get a toy. For adults, the food is decent. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get, so it's a win-win situation.

I went to lunch with my family. My husband chose this place, but I wasn't very hungry that day. Still, I decided to order the "Tororo Fried Chicken Set" with soba noodles, thinking I could give the side dish to my husband. However, the fried chicken and small side dishes turned out to be surprisingly delicious, and I ended up finishing it all by myself. I wish there was more tororo because the portion was small.

I stopped by this place while visiting Aeon at night to have dinner. This time, I had a simple katsudon. The katsudon has a prominent fried pork cutlet sitting on top of the egg. When I tried it, it was quite tender. Not too tough, with a good texture. The breading was crispy. The egg had a decent flavor of the sauce. Thank you for the meal.

On the way back from Hatsumode, I had lunch at AEON Mall KYOTO. The tempura and zaru soba looked delicious, but the beef hot pot also seemed tasty... It was cold, so I ordered the beef hot pot set for 1,280 yen. It was a bit disappointing in terms of portion size compared to the sample. Places like Sukiya or Yoshinoya might be better...

For the last dinner of my trip to Kyoto, I went to this restaurant on the 4th floor of AEON Mall Kyoto. I ordered the Asuka Kaiseki (980 yen before tax), which includes three sushi rolls, a choice of mini noodles (warm udon), four types of tempura, pickled vegetables, cold tofu, a small side dish, and dessert. The tempura was crispy, and the sushi was decent for the price. Overall, the food was satisfactory. If you visit on a Saturday, it gets crowded after 6:00 PM. It's best to arrive right at opening time (5:30 PM) to easily get a table.

One of their popular dishes is the freshly fried tempura rice bowl set, which costs 850 yen plus tax. You can choose between miso soup or a mini noodle dish to accompany your meal. Opting for miso soup will make the set 100 yen cheaper. The mini noodle dish can be either udon or soba, served hot or cold. The tempura rice bowl includes two shrimp, pumpkin, and eggplant. The taste was enhanced by the flavorful sauce, although it lacked sophistication. The portion size was larger than expected. The mini soba should be considered more as a bonus than a substantial addition to the meal.

I arrived at 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 20, 2020. I ordered the delicious set meal and my taste buds were happy. I am completely satisfied and full of happiness. It's great that you can have unlimited rice refills. I want to try various dishes when I come again. It's easy to come here as it is close to Kyoto Station. Thank you for the meal. I spent the New Year's holiday in Kyoto. I quickly had dinner at the Kyoto Station Aeon before the start of the Red and White Song Battle. I wanted to eat soba noodles on New Year's Eve, so I chose a Japanese restaurant. It wasn't too crowded, which was nice! My companions strangely chose udon noodles. I guess noodles are good too? It was cold outside, so warm food tasted really good.

It was really cheap! I got a set with tempura and soba for 850 yen, and there were many other sets with tempura, soba, and sushi for under 1000 yen. There were lots of small side dishes that women would love, and I thought mothers would be happy too if they came! I didn't have high expectations, but it turned out great. The soba noodles were too soft and lacked flavor, which was a downside, but the broth was good. I really liked the tempura, it had a light and crispy batter that stayed crunchy until the end. Even though I asked for extra sauce on my tempura donburi, they didn't skimp on it! They might sprinkle salt on it before adding the sauce, as there was a nice hint of saltiness. The tempura was my favorite kind, with just the right amount of saltiness. My husband prefers a thicker, sweeter sauce on a denser batter, but he still enjoyed it. There were sushi sets available, but I didn't want sushi, so I hope they add more sets without it. Also, even though we ordered the same thing, the nori on my tempura donburi was missing. Well, it's not a big deal, because it was delicious! Overall, it was surprisingly good for a restaurant inside a mall.

Today, I explored Aeon Mall Kyoto and had lunch at a Japanese restaurant. The restaurant was called "Washoku to Kanmidokoro Sokyu". The interior had a traditional Japanese style. The menu included the "Momoyama Gozen" set which consisted of 6 kinds of sushi, tempura, cold tofu, udon or soba, and warabi mochi. The set was served on a large tray with a strong presence and a luxurious feel. The 6 kinds of sushi included negitoro, salmon, tuna, shrimp, and more. The tempura assortment had eggplant, pumpkin, shrimp, and conger eel, with a crispy and delicious batter. I chose warm udon for the noodles. To finish, I had warabi mochi which was very satisfying. Although the lunch was a bit pricey, the generous portion and variety made it worth it. It was a luxurious meal that I enjoyed after a long time.

I didn't have high expectations for the soba, so I casually entered the restaurant. I ordered the Charcoal-grilled Chicken Warm Zaru Soba for ¥1113 including tax, with an extra ¥300 for a noodle special portion, and a Mini Pork Cutlet Don Set. I was surprised that the soba was not rinsed in cold water but served warm. This was probably done so that it can be enjoyed with warm soup. The soup had a slightly light flavor, which is typical of Kyoto. The Mini Pork Cutlet Don was quite generous in portion and tasted delicious. Since this is a tenant soba restaurant, it offers a more casual dining experience rather than focusing on craftsmanship. One downside was that even with the extra noodle portion, the amount of dipping sauce was insufficient. It ran out before I finished the noodles. They should consider providing more sauce. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

The soba noodles had a generous portion size and each one had a distinct and strong flavor.

The miso soup was too strong in flavor and I couldn't finish it.

It was delicious. Even though it was after hours, they kindly brought out the dessert I mistakenly ordered. Very kind service.
