A cafe friend recommended this place, so I visited it right away. Located on the east side of Nishioji Street, opposite the Golden Pavilion, there is a sign that leads you to this cozy, handmade-like space with a cabin-like atmosphere. Inside, you'll find various items like accessories, moss balls, homemade mushrooms, and plum wine bottles. The menu offers set meals even for dinner, along with freshly squeezed juices, shochu, and whiskey, making it a fun place to visit. I chose the mushroom stir-fry set meal from the lunch menu and ordered a hot coffee. The sound of manually grinding coffee beans adds to the charming atmosphere. The dishes are beautifully presented on Shigaraki ware, and the slightly bold seasoning pairs well with the rice. The coffee is from Clump, which is not often found in other stores. They mentioned that they regularly purchase their favorite beans. I wanted to try Bench & Mug's sweets, but I'll save that for next time. The staff mentioned that this place is a sister store to the lively standing bar "KADOYA" near Kuramaguchi. The two young staff members who served us were like Teppei Koike and Aoi Miyazaki, providing a soothing and relaxing experience. The long opening hours and availability of set meals even at night make it a welcoming place for both drinkers and non-drinkers, from students to older folks. It was delicious.
