I enjoyed a delicious dish priced at 500 yen (excluding tax). It had a subtle sweetness and an elegant flavor.

It was a very delicious dorayaki. It is known for being expensive but tasty, and my senior bought it as a souvenir for me. It was really delicious. The red bean paste in the dorayaki was very tasty, and the fluffy pancake was also delicious, making a great combination. The packaging was also very luxurious, and it was really delicious. It goes well with Japanese tea. It was delicious.

This is a gift I received - Umayadono's Baru Daiginjo Dorayaki from Tanba Tsuruya. It costs a whopping 540 yen per piece! It's made with a rare variety of beans called Baru Daiginjo Azuki, which is said to be extremely precious. By the way, a regular Tanba Daiginjo Azuki Dorayaki costs 300 yen. The dorayaki itself is a bit large, with a fluffy texture and a hint of butter. The filling has large beans that stand out, and you can enjoy the elegant sweetness of the beans. Oh, it's delicious... A meticulously crafted item, no wonder it's so expensive. They even have a sweet bean paste that costs over 10,000 yen... Unbelievable. Anyway, it's a place I could never afford to shop at on my own.

I also stopped by when I visited Fukuchiyama. From in front of the city hall, I walked north on a narrow one-way street. The building of the "Old Fukuchiyama Shinkin" completed in 1928 has been renovated. The exterior is already too beautiful, and the interior is breathtaking as well. There are displays of organs and irons from that time, and the high ceiling is impressive when you look up. There are also benches to sit on. If there was a café here, it would definitely be popular. But anyway, I will purchase the dorayaki that I came for. I bought the type that is made fresh every morning after ordering. It can only be kept for the same day. When I tried it, it was made with "Tamba Dainagon" beans and had a refreshing sweetness. I don't like too much red bean paste, so I liked the balance with the dough. The dough is a rich type, and it hardens as time passes. So, it's best to eat it as soon as possible after purchase. Not only the product but just seeing this building is also worth it. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Newly registered store on 11/29/2014 This store, known as the second store of Adachi Otoemon in Fukuchiyama, Kansai, opened on 10/1/2014, just a 10-minute walk from JR Fukuchiyama Station. The concept of this store is probably to convey the past to the future. It reminds me of a similar feeling to one in Toyooka that was established in 1925. The design of the store conveys the thoughts of the designer on how they want to propose the store. It's a store with a lot of charm. Fukuchiyama is a castle town, and castle towns often have delicious sweets. Perhaps this store aims to blend Japanese and Western styles. The flavors focus on chestnuts and adzuki beans, providing a satisfying and gentle taste. This store will probably be a hit. The specialty of this store is probably the yokan, but one piece costs 10,800 yen, so I couldn't purchase it. Nevertheless, I believe this store is worth experiencing just for its atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.

At Tanba Tsuruya, the Kasuga Dainagon red bean paste dorayaki costs 583 yen. The dorayaki has a moist Western-style yellowish skin. Although it is small in size, it is thick, and the red bean paste inside is plentiful and heavy. It is nice that the paste reaches all the way to the edges. The red beans are slightly firm. The sweetness is somewhat restrained and elegant. Since it is a high-quality product, I shared it with my grandmother by cutting it in half. Although it is small, the sufficient thickness makes it a challenge for my grandmother in her 90s to finish one by herself. It has enough weight for elderly people. Thank you for the treat once again.

[Tamba Tsuruya's Kyoto Tamba Adzuki Bean Dorayaki] I always wanted to try this high-end dorayaki that costs 680 yen each. The stylish packaging, dorayaki wrapped in paper, and placed in a plastic case surprised me. I've never seen dorayaki presented like this before. The dorayaki skin has a yellow hue, and it is fluffy and moist. It contains fermented butter, giving it a sensation similar to Western confectionery. The integration with the adzuki bean paste is impressive. The luxurious adzuki bean paste is soft, elegantly sweet, yet has a deep richness. Honestly, this is the most delicious dorayaki I've ever had. Of course, it also comes with the highest price tag. It would definitely be a well-received gift item. [Umaji Adzuki Bean Dorayaki] 583 yen I forgot to take a picture. This one is slightly less sweet. The red bean paste is thick and has a pleasant bean texture. It truly exudes a sense of luxury, and you can experience the awe that matches the price. Treat yourself to this occasional luxury.

At Tanbaya, the Tanba Dainagon red bean dorayaki costs 410 yen. It is considered reasonable compared to other items in the store, but still quite expensive for one piece. The amount of red beans is minimal, with a higher proportion of smooth sweet bean paste. This makes it enjoyable even for those who don't like the grainy texture of red bean paste. The sweetness of the paste, which seems to melt effortlessly, is delightful. Although I forgot to take a photo, the dorayaki came in an elegant white package with a crane design. It is my second favorite dorayaki after the 680 yen Kyoto Tanba Dainagon dorayaki. It's a bit pricey, so I can't buy it often, but I definitely want to have it again someday.

My wife received a high-quality water yokan from a friend who is knowledgeable about sweets. The yokan is made with only chestnuts, sugar, and agar, and it has a rich chestnut flavor and a smooth texture. It is a bit expensive, but it was a luxurious treat. Thank you for the delicious dessert.

Machiya Daikon Small Bean Dorayaki ¥540 I visited the Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi main store event on October 17, 2015. It was a holiday in October, and I decided to spend a relaxing day nearby, so I visited the Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi main store. I discovered this shop at the event space on the first basement floor. Since I had visited all the wagashi shops in Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi, this event was a valuable opportunity to discover new shops. To my surprise, they were selling dorayaki for ¥540 each! This was one of the highest prices I had seen for a regular-sized dorayaki. The reason for the high price was the use of Machiya Daikon small beans. I had never heard of these beans before, but they are known as the best beans in Japan. While Tamba Daikon beans are famous, the beans harvested in Machi Village are considered special and are called Machiya Daikon beans. It's like the highest grade Matsusaka beef in the world of beans. I decided to purchase one dorayaki made with these premium beans. When I weighed it at home, it was 117g, exceeding the 100g mark for a regular-sized dorayaki. When I split it in half, I found a generous amount of filling inside. The skin was like a pancake, with large air bubbles, and it was nicely fluffy. The filling, made with Machiya Daikon beans, was unique. It had a subtle sweetness, allowing the flavor of the beans to shine through. The texture was also different, with a plumpness and a distinct bean texture. While the dorayaki was delicious, I felt that the beans could be enjoyed more simply, without being used as a filling. Overall, it was a tasty dorayaki with room for improvement.
