On July 18, 2020, after enjoying a satisfying breakfast at Shibata-so, we moved to Yosano Town. The organizer had pre-ordered bento boxes for us. The town has its own unique COVID-19 measures, with a campaign where designated menu items are half price. A bento box that usually costs 1280 yen can be enjoyed for 640 yen. The facilities offering hot springs and accommodation are bustling. The seasonal special bento box was a luxurious two-tiered box filled with side dishes, along with Tango bara sushi and miso soup. The restaurant, which normally offers a buffet style dining experience (currently suspended due to COVID-19), had a variety of side dishes lined up that made it hard to choose what to eat first. Everything was simple and delicious. The Tango bara sushi, made with minced mackerel, was particularly enjoyable. After having dessert and tea, we were completely stuffed. The town is working hard on promoting tourism campaigns, but the decrease in revenue must be serious. I would love to support more, but with the fear of COVID-19 and its stigma, it's difficult to go out.

I was impressed by the sunflowers at the Sunflower Festival and then enjoyed a buffet. Everything was homemade and delicious! ❤️

Since I renovated it when I was in high school, I visited the restaurant with memories of going there with about six people by bus back then, but there was nothing to eat. In our twenties, we felt the gaze of the elderly people painfully. The sushi, udon, fried chicken, cabbage and egg stir-fry, apple juice, and grape juice were delicious, I think. The dessert was not that great. There was no main dish, and for 1600 yen, it was a bit expensive.

This is a restaurant inside the Rifu Kaga no Sato hot spring facility. It operates on a buffet-style system where you pay upfront. In the parking lot, fresh vegetables from local farmers were being sold at a reasonable price. The menu mainly consists of natural, vegetable-based dishes that are gentle on the body and unique to the hot spring facility. The taste was not particularly impressive, but it was not bad either. What surprised me was that everything was self-service, including returning the dishes. The process for returning dishes was quite detailed. On this day, I visited with a group of friends on a tour, and some of them unknowingly took the chopsticks from the return table to eat with. (Chopsticks are provided at each table) (Usually, chopsticks are placed near the dishes for self-service) The return area was not set up like a typical food court, but rather like shelves, which may have led to confusion. Despite being a Sunday, it was not crowded.

I had heard about it from a friend, but I finally got to visit it. Located in the mountains off a side road from the national highway, is the Refre Kagetsu no Sato. This building also includes a hotel and hot springs. The restaurant offers a buffet for 1 hour and 30 minutes for 1600 yen in a spacious setting. The menu mainly consists of locally sourced rice and vegetables, and you are served a plate divided into 9 sections. It was nice to be able to taste a variety of dishes in small portions. The focus is on vegetables with very little fish or meat, and the dishes are lightly seasoned which I liked. The food is constantly changing with new items coming out, which was enjoyable. Although I didn't see the kitchen, it felt like the dishes were made by the local lady using local vegetables she wanted to use. In front of the restaurant, handmade crafts, bread, juice, and other items were also being sold.

【Refrain Kayanori】Refrain Kayanori was built in 1998 as an accommodation facility with a large public bath by the former Kayetsu Town. A third-sector company funded by the town operated it, but due to financial difficulties, it suspended operations in 2008. In September 2010, the social welfare corporation Yosanoumi Welfare Association in the town was appointed as the designated manager, and it reopened in October 2011 after a renewal. The bathing facility boasts real herbs, offering spacious Western and Japanese-style accommodation. In the exhibition and sales area, there are exhibitions of works from the Eizan Bunko, as well as the sale of local handicrafts and processed agricultural products (such as red perilla from Yosano Town and apple juice from Tango). The restaurant has 50 seats and mainly serves buffet-style local dishes using local vegetables and fish, homemade desserts, and more. Therefore, it is "Refrain Kayanori". Since the new management took over, there was not much opportunity to visit, but the lunch buffet using local ingredients has been well received. I want to try delicious food and take a bath, so why not go! So, I decided to visit.【Forest Restaurant's Commitment】The original menu by the "Wa" chef uses freshly harvested local ingredients, allowing you to enjoy the taste of each ingredient by preparing them with a light flavor. The buffet (buffet) style allows you to enjoy your favorite menu items such as local Koshihikari white rice, seasoned rice, mixed grain rice, seasonal vegetable side dishes, tempura, croquettes, hamburgers, fried chicken, rice flour bread, deer meat curry, soup, and seasonal salad as much as you like. In addition, the drink bar offers unlimited refills of black tea, organically grown coffee, 100% juice, and more.↑ This is "Forest Restaurant," which is based on the theme of "local production for local consumption." The menu composition that effectively utilizes local ingredients is impressive. As mentioned, the overall flavoring is subtle, making it easy for a wide range of ages, from small children to the elderly, to enjoy. After enjoying a hearty meal, relaxing in the hot spring was delightful! The herbal bath was very soothing.【Bath Prices】Adults (junior high school students and above) ¥500, Elementary school students ¥300, 1 year old to under 6 years old ¥200 *By the way, customers who use the lunch buffet receive a 50% discount on the bathing fee!
