There were many positive reviews on SNS, so when I decided to go to Uji, I visited this restaurant after visiting Sanjusangendo Temple. I was able to come from the Uji River, but the navigation chose the Sawayabi road, which confused me a bit, but I arrived safely. The restaurant is facing the Uji River and even though the weather was cloudy, it was very bright. The chairs were comfortable with good cushions, and before I knew it, an hour had passed while I gazed at the Uji River. The limited parfait is popular at this shop, but they had run out, so I opted for the homemade pudding parfait instead. It had coffee in it and was less sweet than I expected, but still delicious. They said no reservation is needed when there are no limited items. The atmosphere is nice, so I want to try both the limited and regular items next time.

I visited "Consola" again for a break while I was nearby, and this time I tried their seasonal parfait, the "Hydrangea Parfait." I ordered it without hesitation. I visited around 1 pm, and luckily there were only 3 hydrangea parfaits left, so I was able to get one. If you want to make sure you get to try it, I recommend making a reservation. The parfait was not only cute and stylish, but also delicious from top to bottom. The atmosphere of the restaurant, the service, everything was great. It's a wonderful place that makes you want to visit whenever the season changes.

The hydrangea parfait was yogurt-flavored, refreshing and easy to eat, making me want to eat it again! The jewel soda was also fun to drink, with the jelly layer that you can crush yourself. I was able to explore the Uji area with peace of mind knowing that I could reserve the parfait in advance and enjoy it later.

When my family visited Uji for sightseeing, we had lunch here. I had been curious about this place since my previous visit for a mystery-solving event, so I was glad to come back. I had the Tartine and homemade pudding for lunch. The dressing used new onions, and the soup was made with spring cabbage, both had a rich taste of the ingredients and were delicious. The Tartine had cheese and tomatoes on homemade bread, filling me up just right. The pudding was firm and had a blissful sweetness to it. We were a group of three, so we couldn't get a window seat, but the large windows offered a lovely view of the Uji River, making it a great spot for a date. The lunch was also reasonably priced in the 1000 yen range, which I think is just right.

I found this place on Instagram and I just had to come try their parfait. The limited-time parfait during this season is the Happy Bunny Parfait. It consists of lemon mousse, glazed carrots, Langue de Chat cookies, strawberry compote, strawberry ice cream, fresh strawberries, fresh oranges, homemade granola, Chantilly cream, lemon and lime jelly, and strawberry tea jelly. Every bite was delicious. I also got a set drink with rose tea, which had a lovely fragrance and tasted great. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all, so I was able to relax and enjoy my time there.

In Uji, Kyoto, there is a hidden gem café called Kissa Consola (@consola_uji) where you can enjoy a delicious lunch while overlooking the Uji River. I tried the Seasonal Whimsical Tartine for 1400 yen. Located near the World Heritage Site "Ujigami Shrine," the café offers a stunning view of the Uji River through its large windows. The tartine was crispy on the outside, with a chewy baguette filled with bacon, cheese, and a perfectly runny fried egg. It was absolutely delicious. They have parking available, and dogs are welcome on the terrace seating.

Located about a 6-minute walk from Keihan Uji Station and a 15-minute walk from JR Uji Station, this cafe is situated near the World Heritage Site, Ujigami Shrine. From this cafe, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Uji River and indulge in visually appealing parfaits. For this visit, I chose the limited-time Happy Bunny Parfait and the fluffy Consomme-style simmered hamburger. The parfait, designed to look like a rabbit hat, consisted of 11 layers of flavors. After lunch, I felt like having something sweet, so I decided to visit without a reservation. I was able to walk in without waiting. There were a few groups already in the shop. I was seated by the window with a nice view! I ordered the rabbit parfait that I was looking forward to. (There was also a seasonal parfait, which made it a tough choice...) I was told to transfer the rabbit part to the plate to eat. Inside the rabbit was vanilla ice cream. The jelly at the bottom was white wine jelly, but I'm not a fan of alcohol so I skipped that part... Everything else was delicious. They also had a lunch menu, so I definitely want to come back when the season changes!

The interior is tastefully decorated with antique furniture, creating a cozy atmosphere. I enjoyed my time sitting by the window, admiring the rainy scenery outside. I tried the Autumn Leaves Soda, which was beautifully colored in shades of orange, yellow, green, and blue, resembling the colors of autumn leaves. The drink also had pieces of autumn leaves inside, and the scent of homemade yuzu added a refreshing touch. I also ordered the Apple Parfait with a cute bear on top. The parfait consisted of apple mousse, ice cream, fresh apples, jelly, granola, chantilly cream, and caramel tea jelly. The overall taste was refreshing due to the sweet and sourness of the apples.

On a Saturday around 3pm during a long weekend, I visited the restaurant without a reservation. The seats with a view of the river were full, but the inside of the restaurant was quiet and had a cute and stylish atmosphere. I ordered the Pudding Parfait for 1200 yen. The parking lot was also empty, and when the parfait arrived, a seat with a view of the river opened up. I asked to move there, and enjoyed my dessert while looking at the Uji River. They were selling mini financiers, which were too cute to resist, so I bought some to take home for only 150 yen. I definitely want to visit this place again.

I visited a cute cafe with a great location and friendly service. I tried the pudding parfait, which was a bit sweet for my taste, but I was satisfied with both the taste and presentation. I would like to try a different parfait next time!

The parfait includes homemade custard pudding, nougatine, vanilla ice cream, fruits (kiwi, banana, orange), granola, whipped cream, and rich coffee jelly. It's overflowing with goodness... The pudding is slightly firm, perfectly sweet, and goes so well with the whipped cream. The abundance of fruits is delightful, and the slightly bitter coffee jelly finishes it off perfectly. I definitely recommend it to pudding lovers. The cafe opened in March last year and is a place where you can relax and enjoy your time. I want to try the cheesecake plate next time I visit. The name "Consola" comes from "Consolateur (= comfort)" and it truly lives up to its name by providing a calming and peaceful atmosphere. I'm sure once you visit, you'll want to come back again. I visited this stylish cafe along the quiet Uji River after seeing hydrangeas at Sanjusangendo Temple. My friend had made a reservation, so we were seated right away. The cafe has a terrace where you can bring your dog. The interior is chic and has a calming atmosphere, with each table having its own unique style. For lunch, I ordered the Margherita Tartine made with homemade bread, accompanied by seasonal soup (on this day it was Vichyssoise), fresh salad (with carrot dressing), and homemade pickles. The homemade bread had a crispy crust and a soft interior, which was absolutely delicious. The cheese was rich and flavorful, providing a satisfying meal. For dessert, I chose the "Jewel Soda," which had colorful layers of jelly in the glass that sparkled like gemstones when mixed. The jelly was not too sweet and paired well with the soda. The staff at the cafe were very friendly and provided excellent service, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing time. I look forward to trying the parfait next time!

The cafe, which started with takeout under a tent, has finally opened for indoor dining. Located on the opposite bank of Byodoin Temple, near the Asagiri Bridge. To put it simply, it is along the road where Shubaku-san is located. They offer food and desserts made with homemade bread, all with a French twist. Despite being a cafe, the food menu is quite substantial. The Baked Custard Pudding and Coffee Duo is a combination of firm pudding and soft coffee taste. It is served with demitasse coffee sauce. The siphon coffee has a clear taste without acidity. The Valentino cups match the atmosphere perfectly. The calm space with antique tables and an open kitchen with a view of the Uji River between tables is very relaxing. It's nice to try something other than matcha-based treats in Uji once in a while.
