甘辛ダチョウ
Last week, my partner brought home a type of bread from a bakery that we had never heard of before (laughs). The name of this bread is "Mist Bread" (゜o゜;) What? It is made by a bakery called Ordinary Day in Kameoka, Kyoto! The ingredients of Mist Bread are flour, milk, cream, sugar, honey, butter, salt, and yeast. We toasted it and tried it. Surprisingly, the balance of sweetness and saltiness in this bread is just right! It has a slightly sweet taste from the cream, honey, and sugar, but it is not overly sweet, and the simple yet delicious flavor of wheat and the soft texture are outstanding. I really enjoyed the sweet and salty taste, so I ended up buying it again last week and this week! Since the bakery is located in Kameoka, Kyoto, we don't usually go there, but they seem to participate in department store food events in the Kansai region. Let me introduce Kameoka a little bit here. Kameoka City is located in the central-western part of Kyoto, and it is the third most populous city after Kyoto City and Uji City. It has many historical landmarks, such as the ruins of Tanba Kameyama Castle, believed to have been built by Akechi Mitsuhide, and Izumo Oyashiro, which boasts a history of over 1000 years. (It is said that there has been an Izumo Shrine in Kameoka even before the Izumo Taisha Shrine in Shimane). Additionally, there is a scenic train running between Arashiyama and Kameoka, and it is popular during the upcoming autumn foliage season. However, the name "Mist Bread" remained a mystery to me until the end... (・・;) Could it be that Kameoka has a high occurrence of mist?
