I have been going to this amazing okonomiyaki restaurant for a long time. I believe it offers the best okonomiyaki with great cost performance and delicious taste. I have never had better okonomiyaki anywhere else. The staff is also cute and friendly. It's the best. The food is delicious both during the day and at night. It's a truly wonderful restaurant.

Uji's Donnguri, located in Ogura Renchi, is a different restaurant from the chain store Okonomiyaki Donnguri. They have been in business for decades. I have been going there with my parents for over 30 years, and in our family, when we think of okonomiyaki, we think of Donnguri in Ogura. I still love the taste and visit often. Although the head chef has changed from the old one to the young one, the taste remains delicious. "When it comes to okonomiyaki, it's definitely Donnguri here," I always think.

There is an old okonomiyaki restaurant located in a residential area about a 7-8 minute walk from Kintetsu Ogura Station. The restaurant has been around for quite some time and has a few parking spaces in front of the combined residential and commercial building. Inside, there are L-shaped counter seats and table seats on a raised platform. I ordered the Betayaki (with squid and soba noodles). The staff cooked it on the counter grill in front of me and placed it on my own hot plate when it was done. I could add sauce, powdered bonito flakes, seaweed, and mayonnaise to my liking. Although I couldn't pinpoint what made it different, this was the best okonomiyaki I've had in recent years among the ones I've tried. What I liked about the restaurant was that the staff cooked in full view of the customers, ensuring a proper cooking technique, and the preparation of cabbage and meat was also visible from the counter seats, adding a sense of security. It was no surprise that there were many local repeat customers.

At Kyoto Ogura Donguri, the atmosphere is great with a variety of whiskey bottles on display. The customer service is loud and attentive, and you can hear the conversations of other customers around you. The okonomiyaki here is delicious, with a tasty bulgogi flavor and a wonderful mix of ingredients like leeks, eggplant, and cabbage. The way they use cabbage in their okonomiyaki is impressive. Overall, the food here is top-notch and I hope this place continues to thrive in the future. Highly recommended!

Perhaps for the first time in over twenty years, I visited this restaurant. It was bustling on Sunday around 6 o'clock. This old-fashioned okonomiyaki shop is popular. When you think of Kyoto, you think of okonomiyaki, right? I ordered okonomiyaki for the first time in a while. While waiting for it to be ready, I had grilled squid and sunaguri. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable! It was amazing. The grilled squid had a unique sauce flavor with cabbage. The okonomiyaki was topped with sweet and spicy sauce. It was perfect with beer. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal ♡

Nearby store's past pick, Donguri-san at Kintetsu Ogura Station. I ordered the familiar menu and it was delicious as always. The way they use cabbage here is fantastic. Not only the cabbage in okonomiyaki, but also the cabbage fried with meat and squid is great! You can feel the soul in it. This is an old-fashioned okonomiyaki restaurant that is open all day and has a simple menu. They serve sake, whiskey, and Akadama, which are all tempting. And most importantly, the okonomiyaki cooked by the mother is seriously delicious. This taste, which you can feel the history in, is not easy to imitate. Thank you for the delicious meal as always.

While there are fewer okonomiyaki shops, there are quite a few okonomi teppanyaki places. And just like Osaka, there are many delicious options here too! The okonomiyaki here is definitely tastier than the popular Osaka shops. The way the cabbage is chopped and the fluffy texture are excellent. I never get tired of eating here! Highballs, whiskey on the rocks, and Akadama (sake) go well with the food. The familiar Tonpei-yaki, sausages, and yakisoba okonomiyaki are also delicious as always. A good teppanyaki restaurant nearby is very convenient. Of course, the prices are reasonable, and before you know it, you'll be drinking here once a month. Thank you for the meal.

In the local area, a long-established shop had been renovated without me realizing it. The last time I visited was over 20 years ago, when I remembered working hard during the day and playing mahjong at night. When I visited this time, it was during lunchtime on a weekday, and there was only one group of customers. However, soon after, the counter seats, raised seating area, and private rooms at the back all started to fill up, and the place became lively. As for what I ordered, I didn't have much time that day, so without even looking at the menu, I just asked for "extra-large yakisoba" for ¥730 (an extra ¥150 for the large portion). The yakisoba had thick noodles and a loose stir-fry, with no standout ingredients. The sauce was on the sweeter side. Although I ordered the extra-large portion, it felt like there was less than I expected. The business was run by a lively middle-aged lady and a quiet young man. They seemed to have low energy during lunchtime.

We ordered yakisoba twice, and noticed that the taste was different each time - the first one was mild while the second one was stronger, so the consistency of the taste was a bit of a concern. Overall, the food was delicious. The prices are quite affordable, so even if you eat a lot, the bill won't be high. It's no wonder that this place is popular among locals.

It was a regular night so I went without a reservation. I parked my car in front of the restaurant and saw a woman who seemed like the owner, a young man, and a young girl who seemed like a part-timer. As I was getting out of my car, the woman who seemed like the owner quickly retreated inside. It felt strange, but I went inside anyway. I had heard that the food was pretty good, so I thought it would be okay. However, the atmosphere inside was off. I ordered yakisoba and okonomiyaki, but I started to feel like I just wanted to finish quickly and leave. During my meal, there was a couple sitting at the counter and the young male staff member seemed to be yelling loudly at them. When it was closing time, the woman who seemed like the owner came out and started cleaning up quickly, even though there were still customers, including us, in the restaurant. It made me feel really uncomfortable. The food was not bad, but I don't think I will be going back there again.
