Fukufuku-tei is a popular restaurant where even Asian tourists line up before the 11:00 am opening. I ordered the Fukusoba and Oyakodon set. The Fukusoba had plenty of ingredients like 2 shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, and fish cakes. The fluffy beaten egg combined with the sweet bonito broth was delicious. The Oyakodon had a gentle flavor that paired well with the sansho pepper. For this taste and this price, it's a great deal.

In Kyoto, Rokkasho Shinmachi, Shofukutei Katsudon Set (Katsudon & Cold Green Tea Soba) for 1,230 yen. Sundays in Kyoto can be tough for lunch, as there is a high chance of restaurants being full or unexpectedly closed. Today, after being turned away from three places, finally found Shofukutei. The Katsudon here is topped with a thick omelette instead of being simmered. Kansai-style Katsudon has a less sweet sauce, so having less sauce on the breading might be better. Thank you, Shofukutei, for the meal. #Kyoto #RokkashoShinmachi #Shofukutei #Katsudon #Lunch #PopularRestaurant

A long-established udon restaurant located just down from Gojo Shichikencho. I ordered the pork cutlet bowl set for 1190 yen and added 40 yen for cold udon. The pork cutlet bowl at this udon restaurant is delicious with a flavorful broth. The pork cutlet has a crispy outer layer and a tender inside. The udon is also delicious.

"Parent-child rice bowl and soba set" has moved to the opposite side for the first time. A restaurant where the green tea soba is delicious. The broth of the green tea soba is rich and really brings out the flavor of the soba. The broth is amazing. And then there's the parent-child rice bowl. A favorite combination. The parent-child rice bowl was also delicious, but my memory is dominated by the green tea soba, leaving a lasting impression. Each udon restaurant in Kyoto has a nostalgic atmosphere, and they are all lovely.

I had the Ag curry rice bowl set. It came with pickles on the side, hidden under the bowl. The fried tofu in Kyoto is delicious, and the curry sauce had a nice dashi flavor. I visited on a Saturday evening, so it wasn't crowded, which was nice. I left feeling full and satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

North of Higashi Honganji Temple, I saw lanterns as I walked up Shimbashi Street and discovered the restaurant. There is also a parking lot available. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter. I ordered the famous "Fuku Soba" and it arrived quickly. It must be convenient for people who are working. The soba noodles are all made from green tea. The yellow of the egg, the red of the shrimp, and the green of the soba are very appetizing. The soba noodles are not very firm, but the broth is slightly sweet. It warms the body. I wish I had also tried the rice bowl dishes. The mixed rice set also looks tempting.

It seems to be a famous soba noodle restaurant. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from Kyoto Station. Despite being famous for soba noodles, it actually feels more like a local diner with set meals. The menu on the table only lists individual items, but various set meals are displayed on the wall. This time, I ordered the fried curry rice bowl and soba noodle set. The warm soba noodle set was 960 yen, and the cold soba noodle set was 40 yen more, making it exactly 1,000 yen. When you take a bite of the soba noodles, you can faintly sense the aroma of matcha, but when you chew it, you can taste the matcha flavor more distinctly. The soup served with it is slightly sweet and tasty, but I think it could have a stronger matcha flavor. The fried curry rice bowl consists of thinly sliced Kyoto-style fried tofu and Kujo green onions, lightly simmered in a curry-flavored sauce and served over rice. The intention behind the two slices of boiled egg on top remains a mystery. The set also included Koya tofu and pickles. Both dishes were delicious. While it may be questionable as a famous soba noodle restaurant, it is a good place for local soba and set meals. Thank you for the meal\(^o^)/

Looking for Kyoto-style udon, I went to Gojo Station on the Karasuma Line. The restaurant was clean and bustling with both solo diners and groups. I ordered the "noppai" in the ankake category without hesitation. It was a hot and mildly sweet ankake with simple ingredients like fish cake and shiitake mushrooms. It was topped with a generous amount of ginger. The udon noodles were soft and thin, perfect for mixing with the sauce. The "tori-nanban" was refreshing in taste.

Wow, at first I felt overwhelmed by the menu with so many unfamiliar items. I've had udon and soba before, but couldn't read over half of the menu. I was grateful for the kind staff who helped me out. I don't particularly dislike shiitake mushrooms, but I don't usually eat them, so having so many options was a bit overwhelming. In the end, I chose the Kasa Soba, which was like fried tofu. After ordering, I saw the Maitsutake Tempura Soba on the wall and felt regret for overlooking it... There's no option to order it separately... I decided to try it next time. As for the meal itself, I don't have strong feelings about it. The tea powder colored the noodles and gave them a strong scent similar to soba, which was interesting. The noodles were firmer than I expected, and I wondered if they used less buckwheat flour, but I couldn't be sure by the end of the meal. The soup had a good dashi flavor, but it was a bit too strong, leaving a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. The best accompaniments for the fried tofu and soba, shichimi and sansho, were provided. I enjoyed experimenting with adding them to change the flavor. By the way, not many people seem to notice that sansho has a mild spiciness similar to pepper and Sichuan pepper, and it also has a lemongrass-like aroma. However, I think many people have noticed this. The atmosphere of the long-established restaurant was great, with a spacious and beautiful setting. The prices were very reasonable. I will definitely visit again.

I went to "Shofukutei" for the first time in a while. I usually order tempura soba or tori nanba soba because I like their broth, but this time I ordered "Tori Curry Soba" with rice. The Tori Curry Soba that came out had a nice thick broth with a spicy kick, and it was delicious. The soba noodles also went well with the green tea soba. Even though there wasn't a lot of chicken in it, it was tasty. The spiciness of the broth paired well with the white rice. It was affordable and I left satisfied today as well.

I found a local soba restaurant while searching on Tabelog for a delicious place to eat in Kyoto. I decided to drop by and ordered the herring soba and cold green tea soba. The herring in sweet sauce with plenty of broth was delicious. The cold green tea soba was refreshing and packed with ingredients. The restaurant also had parking which was convenient. I would love to come back if I have the chance. It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

While looking for a good restaurant in the neighborhood, I discovered a soba shop nearby! I decided to go and ordered the shin soba, resisting the temptation of the chilled tea soba noodles displayed on the wall. The soba was delicious with a gentle broth and a sweet and salty flavor from the herring. Thank you for the meal!

Today the weather was nice, so I woke up early and strolled around Kyoto. Fushimi Inari Taisha was truly impressive. However, climbing to the top felt like almost mountain climbing. It was quite tiring for a walk that took a little over 2 hours round trip. For lunch, I had researched in advance and found this place. When I arrived around noon, it was almost full. I sat at the counter at the back and carefully looked at the menu. I found something unfamiliar among the Kyoto specialties! I ordered the "Fuku Soba Special - 850 yen". It was served in about 3 minutes. It looks like egg and rice bowl. It's not a thick sauce. I took a sip of the broth! Delicious! This is it! A taste that you wouldn't get tired of even if you had it every day. This is good. The ingredients included boiled egg slices, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, seaweed, and fish cake, even though it's an egg and rice bowl. It's strange that there's no green onion. The broth was so good that I finished it all. It's quite a minor place, but I'd like to come back again. Next time, I might try the curry series with a wide variety of menu options. I had a delicious meal again today. Thank you for the meal.

For lunch today, I went to a long-established noodle shop called Shofukutei in Rokujonshinmachi. My family has been a patron of this noodle shop for a long time. Today, I had the "Fuku Soba" and the pork cutlet curry rice bowl. The Fuku Soba is a tea soba with shrimp, dashi broth, and grated egg, creating a delicious combination of dashi aroma, creamy egg, and tea soba flavor. The curry rice bowl was also delicious, with a topping of curry sauce made with bonito dashi, and crispy pork cutlet on top of rice. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I finally came here on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the egg and rice bowl. The noodles were thin and easy to eat, and the broth here was delicious. It seems to be quite crowded usually, but I went around 1 pm on this day and was able to get in without waiting. I tried a bite of my friend's curry bowl, and it was very delicious, different from the curry I usually eat. I plan to come back again.

I was searching for a place near the hotel where I could enjoy noodles, and I came across this place that caught my interest. Although the store looks new, it is actually a long-standing establishment founded in 1938. I ordered a set of oyakodon and udon with green tea soba. The green tea soba had a slightly chewy texture, and it paired perfectly with the flavorful broth. The oyakodon with plenty of broth was also delightful. It seems like the majority of customers are locals. They even give out sweets as gifts to young children. It's great to have a place like this nearby.

A popular soba restaurant for lunch with soft tea soba noodles. It gets crowded with locals at lunchtime. I ordered the "Hiyashi Imo Kake," which is like soba noodles topped with grated yam. The soba noodles and dashi broth mixed with the grated yam are refreshing and delicious! I want to try the famous "Fuku Soba" next time. Hiyashi Imo Kake costs ¥900.

[Access] Exit Kyoto Station towards Higashi Honganji Temple. Behind the temple.
[Ambiance, cleanliness] It has a cozy, homely atmosphere like a local diner.
[Food received] I ordered the specialty dish, Fukusoba.
[Service] The staff were very kind and spoke in a refreshing Kyoto dialect.
[Cost] I think the prices are reasonable.
[Other] It seems like the restaurant is definitely run by a family. There was a child doing homework in a corner, which was a heartwarming scene. The soba I had was served in a bowl of beaten eggs with lots of ingredients, and the soba itself was green tea soba with a gentle, soft texture. If this place was near my home, I would probably visit frequently. Thank you for the meal.

It was almost full on the first floor even before noon, but there was no wait. The "Aged Curry Rice Bowl" was served with fried tofu, green onions, and simmered vegetables. It had a slightly sweet and spicy Japanese-style curry flavor, with a good aroma of fried tofu. It was easy to eat and tasted great, especially when topped with lots of sansho pepper from the customer customization set.
The "Tea Soba" set, with a choice of small-sized udon or soba (tea soba), was served in 8 minutes. Although I couldn't taste the tea flavor much, the broth was delicious. The side dishes like pickled vegetables and freeze-dried tofu were also tasty.

I visited the restaurant around 12:10 on a holiday. The seats were about half full and it was lively. By the time I left (12:40), it was full.
- Lucky Pot: 1050 yen
- Soup: The miso flavor was not too salty and delicious. It had a hint of spiciness, but overall it was not very spicy. However, there were occasionally whole chili pepper seeds in it.
- Egg: The egg had a good amount of protein and the yolk was liquid and tasty.
- Ingredients: Enoki mushrooms, spinach, Chinese cabbage, and carrots. The carrots were in the shape of maple leaves.
