While strolling around Arashiyama, I came across a sign for "Hineri Mochi" and decided to check it out. Hineri Mochi is a new type of traditional Japanese sweet made by mixing bracken flour with rich cream and Kyoto-style "white miso". They don't have an online shop, so you can only buy it here. I tried the Hineri Mochi set which comes with one type of mochi and tea for ¥600. The mochi flavors include rich matcha, roasted tea with white miso, black sesame with white miso, and Japanese tea with peach. The tea options are roasted tea, genmaicha, or oolong tea. I chose the rich matcha while my companion chose the Japanese tea with peach, and we shared them. The rich matcha was made with high-quality Uji matcha from Gion Kitagawa Hanbei, and it was delicious! The Japanese tea with peach was a limited-time flavor and the peach compote on top was refreshing, perfect for a hot day. It was a bit disappointing that they didn't have a restroom, but the lack of customers in the evening made it a peaceful place to enjoy our snacks. Thank you for the meal! ★

I visited Arashiyama again. I wanted my friend to experience this mochi, so I stopped by. The shop didn't have benches outside, but they had them inside, so we could enjoy the cool atmosphere while experiencing the beauty of Kyoto. It was not only delicious but also like a work of art. It was really nice! Thank you for the meal.

It was located a little off the main street of Arashiyama. The atmosphere of the shop was stylish with a Japanese touch, and there were long benches where you could sit and eat. I ordered a set of tea and matcha mochi and it was delicious! In the end, I also ended up buying some souvenirs. The mochi had a chewy texture, a strong matcha flavor, and a slightly creamy taste that was not too sweet but addictive. Even though Arashiyama was crowded on weekdays, this shop was just right in a slightly secluded area. The souvenirs were a big hit with my family!

■A unique shop that combines fresh cream and white miso with matcha or hojicha to create a novel texture of "Fire Mochi". In addition to take-out, you can also eat in the shop, which has a traditional Japanese atmosphere with background music playing. ■Fire Mochi - Rich Matcha 600 yen (tax included) The popular menu item at the shop, made by "Gion Kitagawa Hanbei" using Uji matcha and "Yamatoshi Shoten" white miso, kneaded with exquisite heat to create a mochi like no other. The mochi is soft and chewy, with a sweetness from the fresh cream and richness from the white miso, along with a balanced matcha flavor from the matcha syrup and powder. The hojicha is served in a convenient poly container, making it easy to take on a stroll. Please note that only cash payments are accepted. ■Store Information & Access: About 1 minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Line "Arashiyama Station", about 9 minutes walk from Keihan Main Line "Saga Arashiyama Station" ・Business Hours: 12:00-18:00 (Closed when sold out) ・Regular Holiday: Refer to Instagram ・Seating: Bench seating, take-out ・Parking: None (Coin parking available nearby) ・Wi-Fi: None ・Power Outlets: None

I went on a boat ride down the Hozen River and got hungry, so I found this shop near Togetsukyo Bridge and got some ohagi. It looked stylish and delicious, but the taste was disappointing. I had to get it as a set with tea for 600 yen, and it wasn't worth it. The ohagi was dry and not very tasty for the price. They had fancy ohagi displayed nicely in the showcase, but I hope they work on improving their products.

If there is a TV special on Kyoto and Arashiyama, there is a shop with a memorable and impactful name that I have been wanting to visit. The shop is called Enman Mochi-ten, and their mochi looks delicious, but this time, because it was hot, I tried their soft serve ice cream. The hojicha flavor was really good.

The large characters of "○○" are also charming. This traditional Japanese confectionery shop in a Kyoto-style building is very stylish. I tried the "Hineri Mochi", and it was amazing with its vibrant matcha color and aroma. The texture was smooth and chewy, and the black sesame flavor was also delicious.

Arashiyama's Marumaru Mochiten? It was "Enman". I can't read it... It seems to be a traditional Japanese confectionery shop, offering items like ohagi made with tea. There are also some original creations, but I wasn't particularly drawn to them, so I opted for a classic matcha and red bean paste dessert. It was simply delicious.
