It's a gift. The person who came to repair the machine brought it as a souvenir. It must have been for the high repair cost. I've never been to Saga in Kyoto, so I'd like to visit it someday. I've been eating too many sweets from gifts lately, so I feel like I'm going to gain weight. I'll resist and cut back on them this weekend.

Arashiyama Autumn Leaves Stroll, couldn't pass by my wife's favorite "Kokurayamaso" in front of Sagarakakisha at Jozan Koji. The store has a high-class feel as you climb the stone steps and pass through the large noren, but it is not very large as a shop. When I asked the veteran-looking staff, they said that this store does not have any original items, but the "Kyoto Chirimen Sansho Senbei" in a box with a Gura Miyako Koshiki is limited to Kyoto and not available for online purchase. It is sold at only 7 stores in the Kyoto area, 21 pieces for 972 yen including tax. If there is nothing else interesting, and feeling a bit peckish, I bought the "Saga no Yaki" (my favorite), a few mm square nori-studded senbei that was the only product when it was first established, and ended up buying the "Gura Miyako Koshiki" as well, led by my wife. We ate one piece each on the bench on both sides of the entrance noren. The Tamba Asakura Sansho seeds mixed in with the chirimen and pressed together with rice grains like burnt rice grains, creating a crispy senbei. The Asakura Sansho seeds are large and have less bitterness typical of Sansho, with a rounded taste and aroma as described on the website. Indeed, it lacks the strong bitterness of Sansho that can be irritating after eating, and the saltiness is also mild, making it easy to eat continuously. I also think it wouldn't hurt if the soy sauce flavor came out more, but that's the refined Kyoto senbei. This level seems to be a good balance even for Kokurayamaso freaks. Well, in any case, a visit to Kokurayamaso in Arashiyama, Kyoto, earns a plus one and a score of 77 points.

I purchased it as a New Year's greeting gift. I also like chocolate-covered persimmon seeds, but the ones I bought this time were quite delicious. The cost performance is also quite good, and I feel like I can use it for various purposes from now on.

After passing through the bamboo grove in Arashiyama and heading towards Jomyoji Temple, I came across a charming sweets shop. I peeked inside and found a variety of Kyoto-style sweets. Among them, I was particularly interested in the ◆ Wogura Mountain Shunshu, priced at 432 yen. It comes with five bags filled with a variety of rice crackers, offering great value for the price. Although it may not be clear from the photo, there are eight different types of crackers ranging from sweet to savory. I highly recommend this one. Enjoy your meal!

No matter where you live in Japan, many people love the Okaki from Ogurayama-so. I always purchase it online, but when I visited the Arashiyama area for sightseeing recently, I visited their store for the first time. The space is not very large, but the familiar products are neatly displayed. There are also seasonal limited editions for Christmas and year-end gifts, making it hard to decide what to choose. In addition to the popular Saga no Yaki and Ogura Meigetsu, I also bought the winter-only Sake Komigashi. I first encountered this candy about 10 years ago. Since then, I have been buying it in bulk as soon as it is released, stocking it at home, and giving it to friends as gifts. Although it does not contain alcohol, it is made with Fushimi local sake, so you can fully enjoy the flavor of alcohol, and it is delicious. When you put it in your mouth, it softens quickly. However, as stated in the warning, people undergoing dental treatment (such as dentures) need to be careful as there is a high chance of it coming loose. The staff's service was very polite, as expected in Kyoto. I had a pleasant shopping experience. When you leave the store, you can see the famous Rakushisha across the rice fields. It has a nostalgic atmosphere. If you are in the Arashiyama area, be sure to stop by. Highly recommended for those who love Okaki.

The souvenir from Arashiyama sightseeing was chosen at the request of a senior at "Kokurayamaso Saga Rakugakisha Mae Store". The store had a beautiful traditional Japanese exterior and a cozy and clean interior. The staff were polite and welcoming. In addition to the classic rice crackers, I also bought the new product, "Ogurayama Shunju Arare and Chocolate (6 bags for 810 yen)". This product is not yet widely available in other stores (department stores, etc.) aside from the new store "Kokurayamaso Li-O-Chocolat" next to the Nagaokakyo main store. It was enjoyable to have both arare and chocolate together. The taste was as expected, comforting and delicious.

In recent years, this shop has suddenly increased in number! It is also located in Takashimaya and always has many customers. This shop has its own parking lot and is a standalone store where you can take your time to choose. I have tried various products, but this time I purchased one of my favorites. This time's purchase... "Arare Zutsumi 16 pieces for 1188 yen. Content and taste... Arare Zutsumi is soy sauce rice cracker wrapped in sesame seed Kyoto-style egg senbei. It is long and can be easily split into two pieces in the middle! This little touch makes it easy to eat. The soy sauce rice cracker is crispy with a strong soy sauce flavor. The sesame seed Kyoto-style egg senbei has a slightly soft texture with a sweet sesame flavor. The combination of these senbei is incredibly delicious! Overall... I haven't seen anything like this in other shops. It's an interesting mix of Japanese and Western-style rice crackers. It's my favorite senbei. It's reasonably priced, looks good, and there are small sizes available for everyday use. It's easy to use and a popular shop for good reason.

I used to live in Kyoto for a short period of time and often rode my bike to Arashiyama. I found a shop along the bamboo forest walking path that offered Mountain Pepper Rice Crackers for 500 yen. My mother wanted to eat senbei while exploring, and her wish came true when we found this shop. The shop had a nice storefront and mainly sold products suitable for gifts. Among them, I found Mountain Pepper flavored rice crackers at the counter. The staff recommended this product, mentioning that it sells out quickly and they are not sure when they will restock. As for the taste... it was just okay. The Mountain Pepper flavor was strong, but the rice cracker itself was mediocre.

On July 3, 2013 (Wednesday), I received another souvenir from Kokurayamaso [Sadayuki's Moon]! There are three types available, but the one I received was the [Kyoto-style Salad Senbei]. When I tried it, it felt like I had eaten it before, but it still evoked a sense of nostalgia. It is light, and when you put it in your mouth, it spreads smoothly and thickens. It has a slight salty taste, and when you're tired, having a bite of this with beer is great! If you have too many in front of you, you won't be able to stop (laughs).

I received a souvenir from my senior from the Torokko Arashiyama. I am grateful! The autumn leaves in Kyoto are spectacular and beautiful, and I imagine it must be bustling with tourists. I received a Kyoto souvenir in Osaka! I received the "Meigetsu Osanbei" in a decorative box (Salad, Wasanbon, Shrimp: 5 pieces each) for 525 yen (tax included). It is made with famous Wasanbon sugar. It has a mineral-rich salt flavor, topped with Japanese Wasanbon sugar, creating a sweet and spicy osanbei. It has a soft texture, not too sweet, with a hint of salt. The gentle Kyoto flavor and elegant sweetness will make you feel relaxed and happy. If you visit Torokko Arashiyama and Torokko Saga, be sure to visit the Sagano Rakugakiya store in front of the Ogurayama Villa. This is my first post, but I hope the taste will be helpful for you to consider.

Kogurayama-so in Sagakurayamadono-cho, Ukyo-ku, is a place where you can enjoy various flavors like Uguisuyamashunju. The packaging is inspired by the beauty of the four seasons at Mt. Kogura, and they offer seasonal limited edition products as well. Inside, you can find small and cute senbei and arare such as Plum Nori Arare, Tamba Black Soybeans, and Sweet Soy Sauce Senbei, allowing you to enjoy a variety of flavors. Thank you for the meal.
