May 2023 - Memo - Since I have plenty of time until dinner near Kyoto Station, let's take a leisurely walk there! To pass the time on the way, I made my first visit to "Stand Misaki" today. It's hot again today, so I stopped by here, which opens at 12 o'clock. There were two groups of customers ahead, and it was nice and quiet. -Draft Beer 450 yen -Chicken Karaage 380 yen -Ham Cutlet 280 yen -Hoppy Set 600 yen It was delicious as usual! Thank you for the meal. I can relax and space out a bit here. Did I manage to adjust my time a little bit?

It's been a while since I visited Stand Misaki in Shijo Kawaramachi. It's part of the Momiji group, known for their focus on chicken dishes. They offer quality items like chicken liver sashimi and raw chicken, which can be hard to find elsewhere. On this day, I enjoyed some chicken liver sashimi and several skewers before quickly leaving. Thank you as always. However, I do wish that the drinks at Momiji group restaurants were a bit cheaper. Just a suggestion for your reference.

The tsabuzu-zukuri at the first floor of Hashigo Sake was unfortunately out of stock so we couldn't try it. However, the okan's fried rice was unexpectedly delicious. Just be aware that it takes a long time from ordering to serving. The seseri nanbanzuke was also tasty. The female staff seemed tired or maybe just not very friendly as they didn't have much hospitality.

I ordered the Stir-Fried Leeks, Kimchi, and Cheese for 390 yen, the Iberico Pork and Kikuna Sukiyaki-style for 390 yen, and the Stir-Fried Squid Liver for 380 yen. The Iberico Pork and Kikuna Sukiyaki-style dish was delicious. The crunchy Kikuna was good, but the simmered one was also tasty. The restaurant's lighting is dim, so it may seem lacking in energy, but the food is reasonably delicious.

Senbero heaven, even on a rainy weekday, was a bit quiet at 4 o'clock. Of course, I ordered Senbero. Two glasses of draft beer and two appetizers came to 1100 yen. The tuna sashimi was fresh and plentiful, priced at 480 yen, and the octopus was also excellent. This place in Kyoto is the best for Senbero.

Stand Misaki in Kiyamachi. Their seafood dishes are delicious, but this time I chose some alcohol-friendly options. Quail konjac, Kyoto elevator, red pickled ginger tempura, and dried squid liver salad. All perfect for snacking while drinking. Even the dishes with names that are hard to understand make you want to try them. Good taste, good price, good service. Thank you for the meal!

In the Nomiya area of Kawaramachi, there is a restaurant called Tachinomiya. It is located on the main street along the river, making it easy to find. I was seated at the counter near the entrance. It was still the time when the evening sun was shining. The tables at the back were already lively. I asked the staff washing dishes in front of the kitchen for recommendations. Although I thought about seafood, they said this place doesn't focus on seafood like their sister restaurant Momiji. They recommended the chicken wing stew instead. So, I went with that. It was chicken wings soaked in a dark sauce, with three bones. It was tender, even the cartilage was soft. It was a generous portion for one serving, so if you're not very hungry, you might want to share it with someone. But I was hungry, so I had it all to myself. I finished my beer and then left. Thank you for the meal. The staff had a good balance of friendliness and professionalism, and they were moving around efficiently in the kitchen. The beer was Asahi Super Dry, crisp and refreshing.

This is in Kyoto. It's located in Shijo-Kawaramachi. If you walk up Kiyamachi Street from Shijo Street, past Shinbashi Street, you'll find this shop a little further ahead. I was meeting a friend at a nearby izakaya, but I arrived early so I decided to wait here. I had been here once before and knew they opened early, so I came here without hesitation. When I entered the shop, a veteran-looking waiter quickly took care of us. Most customers seem to order the Senbero set, which includes 2 dishes and 2 drinks, but since we had other plans, we just ordered a chu-hi and chilled tomatoes. The chu-hi was served quickly. We clinked glasses with my friend right away. The TV in the back of the shop was showing some gruesome news (not the shop's fault), but it was still early in the day or maybe early evening, and we were drinking and commenting on how the tomatoes were a bit firm, thinking that peace is the best. The staff was chatting and having a good time with what seemed like regular customers, creating a nice atmosphere. I think I'd like to come back here for a drink next time.

The restaurant is located about 1-2 minutes north of the Kyoto Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, near the number 1 exit. Upon entering the shop, you will be guided to the standing bar counter. We started with a toast of draft beer. For food, we ordered maguro (tuna) sashimi and Kyoto-style fried tofu. The maguro sashimi came with daikon radish and shiso leaves, served with wasabi soy sauce. The Kyoto-style fried tofu was topped with grated daikon radish and green onions, seasoned with ponzu sauce. The combination of the crispy fried tofu, daikon radish, and ponzu sauce was delicious. We also enjoyed a Kyoto sour cocktail, which was sweet and tangy. Overall, it was a great experience with light drinking and eating, but next time I would like to have a proper meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

This restaurant has really delicious dishes, all of them are quite good! It's a standing bar with great food. And to top it off, the cost performance is also good. I thought it was amazing to find such a good standing bar in Kyoto. But then, the bombshell! The service is terrible. No, not that they are mean, but the staff are overwhelmed! When I saw this, I thought the owner should hire more staff. It's chaotic, but I don't mind. Despite that, they are lowering the service points! Anyway, the food was so delicious! I love the Kiyamachi street, so I will definitely go back. The bill for two people was ¥2280. It's a great bargain!

Tonight, I drank here♪ After returning from the Biwako lakeside (Kosei) with the ruins of Sakamoto Castle to Kyoto city, it was getting dark outside so I decided to have a drink here before heading homeヽ(*´∀｀)ﾉ♪ It's been since last November when I went leaf-peeping. Tonight is also a paradise for the old man w. Green bean sesame dressing, chikuwa, and fried seaweed. I ordered a highball. On a certain day in May 2022, Kyoto to Osaka, first night, first place. The other day, my friend Numas' transfer to Osaka was decided and I immediately decided to go to Osaka first and do some bar hopping with Numa next time. For some reason, I ended up in Kyoto instead. Well, I just love Kyoto♡ After visiting Yasaka Shrine as usual, let's start from here and try going to "Stand Misaki" first♪ I don't have any connection to a girl named Misaki, but I somehow like the name Misaki. For my generation, Misaki equals Takarō Misaki though ( ﾟ∀ﾟ)･∵ﾌﾞﾊｯ!! This place is a standing bar located in Kiyamachi. There are many affordable bars like this in the area, with mostly young people and office workers as customers. But here, there are more older men, I think. I'm sure it's a place with a lot of local older men. Well, here's today's order: - Simmered bamboo shoots: 380 yen - Potato salad: 350 yen - Kyoto's elevator: 280 yen - Fried small taro: 300 yen - Broccoli and tuna mayo salad: 350 yen - Super Dry draft beer: 400 yen The small taro is incredibly delicious♡ It seems like they lightly coat and fry boiled taro, and it's so delicious that you could come here just for this! Are the ingredients local? I'm sure they are. The service by the motherly staff is natural, friendly, and very enjoyable, making it a comfortable place to be ('ω') I was curious about the elevator on the menu, so I asked about it. It turns out to be fried tofu topped with grated daikon radish and Kujo green onions. This was also delicious! Now, the important question is, why is it called an elevator? ... Those with a keen sense have probably already noticed, right? Yeah, you probably have. Thank you for the meal!

Stand Misaki, a standing bar near Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station. Visited on a Sunday when they opened. Inside the standing bar counter, there was one older sister. Ordered beer for 400 yen, fried horse mackerel for 200 yen, and potato salad for 350 yen. The potato salad had an extra touch that made it enjoyable. The fried horse mackerel was freshly fried. After I entered, 4 or 5 customers came in, all of them were solo customers. E-cigarettes were okay. Somehow, another older sister joined in. I ordered a highball, which was served in a glass from Nikka. Also ordered octopus and seaweed vinegar miso salad. Many customers just had one drink and left. I wanted to drink a little more, but stopped at two drinks. I felt good~. Thank you for the meal~

This is Kyoto. In Kyoto, on Shijo and Kiya-machi, just a bit south of Tokiwa-cho Bridge, there was this shop. I happened to pass by the front of the shop and thought it would be perfect for a quick drink, so I decided to go in. Inside the shop, there were acrylic boards lined up on the counter for social distancing, giving it a bit of an Ichiran style vibe. The experienced staff quickly took my order. I ordered a cold beer and chilled tomatoes. The beer that came out quickly was nice and cold, still delicious even in the middle of winter. The tomatoes were a bit firm, but still tasty. I quickly finished the beer and ordered a lemon chu-hi. This was also served promptly. At one point, there were lively customers which seemed to attract the attention of the local police. It was great to see both the staff and the police acting quickly.

I have loved standing izakayas since my student days. This time, I enjoyed sipping hot sake @450 along the Takase River. It's a strong and warming hot sake. The octopus sashimi @450 has a firm texture. I really like the chewy texture of octopus. The sweet rolled omelette @300 has sugar in it, so it's sweet. The combination of sweet rolled omelette and sake might be surprisingly good. This standing izakaya in Kyoto is easy to drop by for a quick drink. It's a good place to visit when you want to have a casual drink. Thank you for the meal.

I used to visit Momiji this spring, but it seems like the management has changed, and now they have multiple branches along Koya-machi street. I found a new place called Misaki near Momiji, which is a standing bar style. I ordered a chu-hi and was trying to decide on a side dish. The menu had a variety of options, but I couldn't make up my mind. In the end, I chose stir-fried green peppers and fried tofu. It was a simple dish that was surprisingly delicious. They allow heated tobacco inside the restaurant.

First, we went to a standing bar and had a bottle of Sapporo Lager each. It's so tasty after exercising. We ordered the following: 1. Stir-fried green vegetables and clams: A salty and savory dish that goes well with beer. 2. Fried young chicken: The small portion size is convenient for sharing. The bottle of beer was quickly finished, but that's how it goes when you're having a good time. We entered around 4 pm and left at 4:46 pm. It's cheap and you can quickly enjoy your drink.

I came to Shijo in Kyoto. I didn't know there were such cheap restaurants in Kyoto. I ordered the senbero set for 1100 yen. It came with two drinks and two appetizers. It seems like this alone would be enough. I also ordered two more appetizers. The taste is on par with Nanatsu-ya. Not bad. It's reasonable and easy to use.
