There is space in front and beside the shop. When you enter, you pick up tongs, a plate, and bread on your right hand, then pay at the register. They offer a variety of items like hard bread, sandwiches, side dishes, and sweets at reasonable prices. The staff seems to work diligently, which is reassuring. The only downside is that I would prefer to get drip coffee to go from a convenience store for ¥200. It took me more than five visits to finally try their Danish pastry with matcha and marble dough, filled with red bean paste. It had a nice texture and was topped with powdered sugar, with the word "大" written in chocolate. Enjoying this pastry while looking at Mt. Daimonji in the background was a delightful experience. I think this pastry is a great local product that the shop should continue to promote. In my opinion, this shop is more highly regarded by locals than another famous bakery nearby. I recommend pairing this pastry with curry udon from the neighboring shop, or getting it as a souvenir after visiting nearby attractions like Ikazuchi Udon or Masutani. You can even see Mt. Daimonji from a short distance, so eating this pastry while gazing at the mountain is heartwarming (laughs).

I have used this bakery a few times, but this time I tried three simple types of bread: baguette, fluffy sandwich bread, and chewy focaccia. The focaccia was small and round with a nice salty taste and a chewy texture. The baguette is great for sandwiches with butter or fillings. The sandwich bread is surprisingly fluffy, so be careful not to squish it. I ate one slice as is and toasted the rest. I initially thought of eating it plain, but I tried it with some leftover yuzu miso paste that was about to expire. I didn't think it would go well, but it wasn't bad. Of course, jam would be better. Overall, it's a versatile bread that goes well with anything.

This is a bakery in front of Ginkakuji bus stop. When I went there before 10 o'clock, the baguettes and batards were not yet baked, but they were in the process of being baked. I bought a half of a rye bread. It cost 221 yen. It still had some warmth as it was freshly baked. Although it contains rye, the amount of rye seems to be not that much. It is quite fluffy. I think it's best to eat it as it is during a meal.

I had delicious curry udon at "Otayan" located west of Shirakawa, Imadegawa, then went to this bakery next door. I thought it was a traditional Japanese sweets shop from the outside, but it turned out to be a bakery. It has a very Kyoto-like atmosphere, close to tourist spots. It was past 3 pm so there were only a few options left, but I bought 4 items for snacks later. The prices were reasonable and the taste of the bread was very satisfying. Thank you for the meal!

After dining at the soba restaurant "Minakawa," I went for a stroll and stumbled upon a promising bakery, so I decided to make a purchase. The previous day, I was not satisfied with the croissant from Fablanc, which also motivated my purchase. Although I often walk around the Ginkakuji area in Kyoto, I had never noticed this bakery before. I purchased three items:
(1) Croissant: It had a decent dough flavor but lacked the flakiness and richness I was hoping for. It was just average compared to what I've had in Japan.
(2) Quiche: Priced at 260 yen, the quiche had a thick crust with a filling of onions, bacon, and greens. However, the bacon was thinly sliced and minimal, making the flavor dominated by the onions and eggs. It was tasty, but I felt that making a more authentic version at home would be better. I prefer a firmer tart base.
(3) Cream Pan: The custard cream had a vanilla flavor, likely from vanilla essence rather than vanilla beans. It was the most delicious of the three items, with a shiny egg yolk glaze typical of cream pan. It seemed like the baker had received training at a good bakery in Japan. I can't recall the exact prices, but I found them reasonable and thought the quality-price ratio was excellent. Next time, I plan to try a harder type of bread. Kyoto has many bakeries that meet a certain standard. Thank you for the meal.

Imadegawa Street has many bakeries, but I think this one is the best. Every time I come to Kyoto, I make sure to stop by here. The croissant is crispy but not too hard, with a perfect balance between the inside and outside. The more you chew, the more the deliciousness spreads in your mouth. The quality is top-notch for this price. In Tokyo, it would easily cost double. The cream puff has a nice color and texture, with the perfect match between the surface bread and the slightly gooey filling. It makes you feel happy. I think this place deserves a higher rating on Tabelog, I wonder why it's so low.

I was asked to buy bread, so I stopped by here for the first time in a while. I bought a chocolate croissant (180 yen), an anpan (130 yen), a ham and cheese croissant (200 yen), and a white bread (?) for my parents. It had been a while since I last visited, but they had a variety of bread with strong flavors and I found many other breads that I wanted to try or buy!

It is a very delicious bakery! Personally, I think it is on par with Fabrique and Tamakido in Kyoto. I bought focaccia and a sugar-coated bread, whose name I have forgotten. I will definitely visit again.

This is a bakery located in the Jodoji area of Kyoto. They only offer takeout, but there are benches outside where you can sit and enjoy your food. At first glance, it may seem like just an ordinary bakery, but they are actually very skilled. They open at 7am, which is quite impressive for a bakery. I purchased the following items: 1. Blue Cheese Croissant (110 yen) - incredibly delicious with real blue cheese. 2. Cinnamon Roll (190 yen) - packed with crumbs and mild cinnamon flavor. 3. Nut and Cheese Bread (160 yen) - crispy texture and very reasonably priced. I really liked it and would love to visit again.

I bought bread, croissants, and another item at a bakery near Ginkakuji Temple, and they were all wonderfully delicious. There are many bakeries in Kyoto, and it's interesting to randomly enter one like this. Next time, I want to try their side dishes as well.

From the intersection of Imadegawa and Shirakawa to the west on Imadegawa Street, there is a pretty delicious bakery recommended by my mother. I chose a raisin bread, sandwich, and regular bread, all Danish-style. The bread was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, with a satisfying size for 170 yen each. Just these items filled me up completely. My mother gave me half of the sandwich, which was full of ingredients and had a moist and fluffy bread. I saved the regular bread for the next morning and toasted it. The dough was moist and fluffy, with a firm crust. Overall, it had a strong salty taste. I regret not freezing it properly last night, as it might have turned out crispier. I will have a rematch next time, either eating it fresh or freezing it before toasting.

After strolling around Ginkaku-ji, I felt a bit hungry and was intrigued by a shop on the way back, so I ended up buying something. The shop had a stylish, traditional Japanese design typical of Kyoto. I originally wanted to try their Daimonji-yaki bread, but unfortunately, they were sold out. So, I bought a cream bun for 130 yen and a sakura red bean bun for 160 yen instead. The cream bun was filled with a generous amount of cream, tasting delicious with a rich flavor. The bread was firm and satisfying. The sakura red bean bun had a sakura mochi inside, giving it a Kyoto vibe which was nice. It was a delightful meal. Thank you!

I couldn't help but stop in front of a bakery with a large sign that had a Kyoto-like character on it. They had bread with strawberries and croissants that any bread lover would want to buy. I ended up buying more than I intended, as all of the bread had a great wheat aroma. (laughs)

I stopped by on my way to Ginkakuji. The exterior has a traditional Japanese atmosphere. I went in the afternoon, but they had few types of bread left, which was disappointing. The mountain-shaped bread was soft and fluffy. My bread got a little squished because I had a lot of bags, which made me sad. (;_;)

The croissant with strawberry filling costs 230 yen, the cheesecake-style dessert with strawberry costs 200 yen.

The bread is filled with plenty of red beans and is voluminous. Eating bread at the summit of Mt. Ooyama is the best.
