On New Year's Day, every restaurant was packed, but luckily we were able to get a table at Kappa Sushi. Despite being extremely busy, the staff and chefs were all smiling and provided amazing service. The food was delicious and we were completely satisfied. The prices were reasonable and the overall value was great. It's a safe bet to enjoy sushi in Pontocho at this restaurant!

This time, I dropped by without a reservation and was lucky enough to get a seat. As always, the sushi was delicious. I always order the eel boxed sushi for takeout, which is excellent - tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely give it a try!

I used Kappa Sushi on a riverside terrace. This time, I ordered the Misogi River Course, which came with appetizers, grilled ayu fish, 8 pieces of nigiri sushi, and warabi mochi for 6600 yen (including a table charge of 550 yen). The atmosphere was great, as you could feel the presence of the Kamo River nearby. It was a unique experience to enjoy sushi on a riverside terrace, and the prices were not too high. The staff were accommodating when I had to change my reservation due to a typhoon. The taste of the sushi was average, similar to conveyor belt sushi. It seems like they focus on presentation and atmosphere to stand out. If you're looking for a nice atmosphere to enjoy your meal, I recommend this place.

It was late on Sunday night, so it can't be helped! The menu is quite limited and there wasn't much sushi. It feels like they cater more to foreigners. The restaurant was mostly filled with foreigners too! If they advertise that they are open until late at night, they should make sure to have enough stock.

From the protruding entrance, this sushi restaurant was absolutely delicious. As a heavy user of conveyor belt sushi, just seeing the head chef standing there got me excited. The seafood salad had plenty of fish and left me completely satisfied. Every sushi was delicious, and the tamago (egg) was exceptional.

The sushi is not conveyor belt style, but it is reasonably priced. The quality of the fish is excellent and I was very satisfied with the value for money. The seats were full even on this day, with a few foreigners also dining. The chef was friendly and it was a lovely restaurant. I think it's better to make a reservation just in case. I was treated to a meal by someone I am grateful for. I can only express my gratitude for the delicious and happy time.

The Kappa Sushi I know is a conveyor belt sushi place with affordable prices, but this one was the opposite, serving sushi at the counter and it was a very satisfying experience. ♡♡ The Chawanmushi had plenty of ingredients and the sushi at Kappa Sushi was all delicious. I tried various white fish options and they were all tasty. The marinated Thai fish and the Giji (Amadai) were sweet and delicious. The conger eel was also amazing. In the end, when I wanted to order egg, I made a mistake and ended up with a large quantity of egg (⊙⊙)!!!!! Of course, I finished it all. ♡ I found other charming restaurants in Pontocho, but Kappa Sushi was also really good. It was a very cost-effective and delicious sushi restaurant in Pontocho. It's a different Kappa Sushi from the conveyor belt sushi chain. The pike conger, sweetfish, conger eel, simmered sea bream, all were delicious. Beer goes down smoothly. After that, we had various types of sushi, but we were so engrossed in the sushi that we forgot to take photos. The atmosphere was very cozy, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you for the meal.

I have been coming to this sushi restaurant since I was young. It's casual, reasonably priced, and the quality is quite high. Today, we celebrated the coming-of-age ceremony for a part-time worker. For some reason, the girls were really excited about the sushi. I didn't get to eat much of my own today. It was snowing outside! The food was consistently delicious!

I made a reservation for Saturday night. I wanted to see the Kamo River, so I reserved a window seat, but it was too dark to see anything (lol). At first, I ordered the chef's recommendation (about 3000 yen) of 12 pieces. Then I ordered about 5 more pieces. It takes a while from ordering to serving. It's not super expensive, but it's not cheap either (lol). However, it's very delicious! Everything is delicious, but personally, I thought the yellowtail had the best value!

I used to pass by Sotomachi and was curious about it. I decided to have a light dinner in Sanjo and went to Kappa Sushi. The interior of the restaurant had windows overlooking the Kamo River, and the elegant, large counter was about 70-80% full. I was guided to the second floor, which was quiet. I sat in the middle of the large counter, ordered the omakase set of 10 pieces and the tokujyo set of 8 pieces. The chef quickly prepared the sushi after serving the appetizer. The fish was fresh and delicious. It was a non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

A friend recommended this restaurant to me. They took me to Kappazushi, a place they used to visit during their student days in Kyoto. They mentioned that the interior has changed since then, which is not surprising considering how much time has passed. It has been several years since my last visit. I happened to be walking in Pontocho and saw the lights on, so I decided to pop in for a quick bite. I was seated at the counter at the back of the restaurant. It's already 10 PM but surprisingly crowded. Let's start with a toast with beer. The sushi here is reasonably priced, starting at 120 yen per piece, so you can enjoy it without worrying too much about the cost. There are also options over 600 yen per piece, so you can't get too carried away... but still affordable. The appetizers were delicious, from simmered eggplant to grilled mackerel. The boiled tofu skin with toppings was a first for my companion, and we both enjoyed it. The foie gras was tasty without any unpleasant smell. The fried smelt tempura was crispy and had a slight bitterness that added to its flavor. The fresh octopus was finely cut and easy to eat. The mackerel had just the right amount of fat and was delicious. The herring roe was delicious and had a consistent flavor. We were both full and it was time to catch the train, so we finished up. There is a sushi restaurant in Pontocho, Gion, Kyoto. It is not cheap, but it is reasonable for Pontocho. The sushi with freshly made yuba and lightly pickled eggplant is delicious.

I used it when looking for dinner in Pontocho after a long time. Unfortunately, the riverside seats were closed due to the rain, but the atmosphere was calm and the quality of the sushi was high, overturning the image I had of Kappa Sushi. It is reasonably priced in Pontocho, so you can use it even for a quick visit!
