The frozen margaritas are delicious! A must-visit place when in Kyoto. Conveniently located directly connected to Karasuma Oike Station, in a renovated old telephone office building (Shinkan). A stylish place where retro and modern blend together. During dinner at PIOPICO, the dimly lit setting with comforting lighting makes you feel like you're in a foreign country. I think it offers good value for both the food and the atmosphere.

It had a nice dim atmosphere. I was satisfied with the all-you-can-drink course. However, the Mexican dishes had a similar seasoning and didn't taste delicious until the end. The male staff who served us was polite and made us feel comfortable.

The high ceilings and the availability of empty seats nearby made it easy to have conversations. We ordered the Piopiko Dinner Set, which included a variety of dishes as well as all-you-can-drink for around 5000 yen per person. They checked for allergies or food preferences before serving, so even those unfamiliar with Mexican cuisine can feel at ease. Personally, I really enjoyed the "Smelt with Sansho Pepper, Furikake, Burnt Oil" and the "Tostada with Tuna." The flavors were a mix of Mexican and Kyoto-style seasonings, creating a unique and enjoyable taste experience. The drink menu included a selection of wines, which were of high quality and not your typical all-you-can-drink options. The staff provided excellent service, being attentive and friendly throughout the meal. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I look forward to visiting again.

I visited because I love Mexican food. It's a bar and restaurant with foreign bartenders. I only used the bar, but I tried some dishes. Mexican food is so delicious, I wonder why. However, they didn't have chili con carne. The foreign bartender is fluent in Japanese and even let me try some base samples, great service. I would like to stop by again next time.

The interior is luxurious! The chairs are very comfortable and the staff are friendly. The cafe latte is delicious! My friend ordered tea and was surprised by the huge teapot they brought out, which was a great value. The tea had a nice aroma and was very good. I think it's a good place to go on a date!

This is my second visit here, and this time I ordered the burger lunch set. The patty was just right with a coarse grind, and the slightly strong pepper seasoning was to my liking. I heard that you can eat tacos, so I went directly from Karasuma Oike Station to PIOPIKO Bar & Lounge on the 2nd floor of Ace Hotel. The 2nd floor is a lounge and the 3rd floor is a bar. The design is modern with a high ceiling and an open feel, creating a stylish space that feels like being abroad. Drinks are ordered individually per person. Although I wanted to order a variety of items, after considering our hunger level post-afternoon tea, we decided to share the fried fish tacos between two people. I was worried about the herb-based tacos on the menu (including tomatoes and onions) having a strong taste, but when all the flavors came together, it was surprisingly delicious. The fried fish was crispy and not greasy at all, I wanted to eat more! Although I originally wanted to try the crispy skin type, I was completely satisfied. I want to go back again!

I visited on a weekday night. I had made a reservation a few days ago, so I could enter smoothly. I ordered the evening course, which was 4,800 yen with 90 minutes of all-you-can-drink. The drink menu included draft beer (SORACHI♡) as well as Margaritas and Mojitos. The course included appetizers, spinach quesadilla salad, avocado and tuna tostada, jerk chicken and grilled vegetables (with tortillas). The food was delicious and satisfying. The atmosphere was nice and spacious, allowing for a relaxing time. The staff's service was also good. I will definitely go back again.

I ordered a hamburger set which was delicious and had a good portion size. However, the dessert was too heavy and I couldn't finish it. Many others seemed to have left it uneaten as well, so it may be better to change the dessert. The atmosphere and the food were both good, and I was able to relax and enjoy my meal.

After finishing dinner, I wanted to have a little drink so I went to Hotel Piopiko. This place is led by Wes, the owner of the popular LA restaurant Guerilla Tacos. Inside, 80s R&B music plays, which we enjoyed as it's from our generation. We toasted with a small draft beer and chatted aimlessly. The restaurant is larger than imagined, with seating even under the stairs. It seems like a place you can enjoy not only at night, but also for lunch or dinner. Thank you for the meal.

I stayed at this hotel and enjoyed a luxurious late lunch, so I decided to head to the hotel restaurant for dinner. When it comes to Kyoto, I usually think of Japanese, ramen, or yakiniku, but this time my wife suggested Mexican cuisine (well, her suggestion is more like an order...). The restaurant was a bit dimly lit and there were more young people than us, which made us feel a bit out of place, but it was a nice change to have some Mexican food. Once I looked at the menu, I forgot about everything else around me. I wasn't very hungry, so I chose some light dishes and enjoyed a Corona beer. The food was all delicious, but I felt like the table was a bit low. My slightly picky stomach didn't appreciate the leaning forward posture (laughs). It might be better to reserve a booth on the upper floor for a more substantial meal, but the food was definitely tasty. I will definitely revisit soon.

The food is more like appetizers rather than full meals, but as a drinker, I had a great time. Both red and white wines were of decent quality and had a good cost performance. Despite the all-you-can-drink option, you could also order some cocktails, which made it worth the price. Perhaps it's because of the pandemic. If it becomes crowded with foreigners, I don't think they will offer all-you-can-drink anymore, so enjoying it as a light meal + bar experience may be the main focus. Being an Ace Hotel, all the furniture is custom-made, and the space design is perfect. In simple terms, it is probably one of the most stylish spots in Kyoto.

I usually play it safe and order a typical drink when I go out for Mexican food, but this time I decided to try something unique that I can only have here. It's a rice milk drink. The base is rice milk, and there's something mixed in... I forgot. It's a slightly sweet drink and very delicious. The tacos are filled with generous portions, so you have to take big bites to fully enjoy them. The potato sauce, I think it was called aioli, was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Stylish attire is suitable for casual dates. We were lucky to be able to use the benefits of "Go To Travel" and the regional common coupons. The restaurant is located a short walk from Karasuma Oike Station, inside the Ace Hotel Kyoto. You can go up to the 2nd floor from the central staircase in the lobby. The space is relaxing with high ceilings. There are also seats on the upper floor, and we chose to use the box seats overlooking the glamorous bar counter. The table seats may feel more spacious, while the box seats are a bit cramped. The main lunch set menu on Saturdays ranges from 2,500 yen to 3,200 yen. I was drawn to the Beef Steak Lunch, but ended up choosing the Tacos. If there is a next time, I might try the burger. The Tacos Plate Lunch Set includes a variety of tacos, salad, soup, salsa & tortilla chips, and dessert. The volume is sufficient, and the three types of tacos were enjoyable - pork, shrimp, and sweet potato. The pork taco was particularly impressive with a smoky flavor and a kick of spiciness. The salad with romaine lettuce and avocado, the lime-based soup with mushrooms, and the sweet potato dessert all had a hint of spiciness. I also tried their homemade craft cola, which had a unique spice and a hint of sweetness.
