Kameoka is really cold and snowy. The trains are delayed a lot. I had an appointment with someone I've never met before, but I had to call them to cancel because of the train delays. They were very understanding and told me to be careful on my way. They were so kind that I felt relieved when I left. On my way back, I passed by a sake brewery. I had to go in. They greeted me cheerfully and offered me free tastings of three different types of sake: Okina-zuru, Kura-dashi, and Namazake. They were all delicious. I saw they were selling sake lees, but I decided to buy them next time because they were heavy. The sake lees were 1kg for 900 yen, which seemed like a good deal. I gained confidence and asked for one more tasting. They happily obliged. I forgot to take photos, but I remember it was tasty. They reminded me to be careful in the cold weather as I left. The brewery visits are only available on days off.

I went to Kameoka to buy strawberries and arrived a little early, so I decided to wait at the nearby Hiedano Shrine. Next to it was Oishi Sake Brewery, which was established during the Edo period and opened a tea room and sake shop in the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, and Heisei eras. As I passed by the shrine's gate, I saw a small light, indicating that there was a shop there. I decided to take a break and saw a sign for koji amazake. It was a seasonal limited-time offer and I found it to be very sweet and warm. It cost only 400 yen, which was quite reasonable. They also offered other items like zenzai, shiratama drinks, and of course, cold sake. Since I was short on time, I didn't tour the main building or purchase any sake this time. I'll come back for a leisurely visit when I run out of sake. It seems like they also offer brewery tours.

The Dan-no-ura region associated with Akechi Mitsuhide is a familiar area for me. Near my home, there are the ruins of Akechi Mitsuhide's castle and a temple. There are also products like sake and manju with the name of Akechi Mitsuhide in the area. Akechi Gosuke is refreshing and easy to drink, perfect for evening drinks. I used a Temma kiriko sake cup on the first day to match the bottle. The snack was a Nagoya Cochin chicken set with shirako. The next day, I enjoyed the aroma with a thin glass. The snack was frozen saury marinated in mountain pepper soy sauce. It's about 1500 yen, I think. I bought it thinking it was okay, but it turned out to be 500ml instead of 750ml. It was a bit of an expensive drink. I drank it while thinking of Hidetoshi Hasegawa more than Akechi Mitsuhide. That's all.

I stopped by on a bus tour. First, I went up to the second floor of the building and received an explanation from the staff, then I explored freely and had some tastings before shopping. There were many photos and autographed boards of famous people, including the cast of the TV show "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". The building had multiple sections, offering not only alcohol but also ice cream, pickles, skincare products, and more. I tried some sake and plum wine, both of which were delicious and easy to drink, but a bit pricey. I ended up buying a small bottle of premium sake for 1700 yen and a yuzu cocktail for 700 yen. I also tried some skincare products, which had a strong sake scent. Lastly, I bought black bean ice cream for 360 yen and black bean monaka for 270 yen, which I enjoyed eating on the bus. The black bean ice cream was rich and creamy, with a lot of black beans in it. I can't wait to try the sake I bought at home!

I visited on the Sunday after Golden Week with a group. There seemed to be several buildings, but at first, only a shop in front was open, while the main building appeared to be closed. However, they noticed the large number of customers and opened it up. Inside, there was an exhibition room with a retro feel. The first floor had a spacious gift shop and a tasting corner where you could try several types of sake. I tried a cloudy sake and a junmai ginjo sake, both of which were good.

I visited the nearby Hiedano Shrine and made a stop at a place where there is a mannequin who once appeared on the TV show "Detective Night Scoop" expressing a desire to marry a mannequin. They also sell mannequin-labeled alcohol. The building where alcohol is sold is separate from the one selling seasonings and sweets. You can sample the alcohol in the building where it is sold. Even if sampling is difficult, the staff will explain the flavors to help you find your preference. In the end, I bought cooking sake without salt. I wanted to buy mirin too, but they only had it in large bottles which were too heavy. There were also bottles in a material like a PET bottle, but the quantity was too much and still heavy. Since I came with a friend that day, I couldn't carry it when I bought it. If you want to buy mirin, it seems like you need to drive back home with your own car. There also seemed to be shaved ice available at the sweets shop.

I am "Noronori," who mainly walks around eating lunch, mainly in Sakai. This sake brewery used to make sake in bamboo in the spring. I visited after a long time. They are not making sake in bamboo anymore because the craftsmen are not there. They offer brewery tours, so please contact the store for more information. I visited in August, so there were also cool bottles of chilled sake, perfect for summer. The other three members, all big fans of sake, immediately started tasting. I like sake too, but I don't know much about it and I have to drive... which one is which~ They were all having a great time! Each person bought their favorite sake to take home. I bought a sake that everyone said was delicious and Nara pickles made with Osaka daikon and cucumber. Both were very delicious, and I wished I had bought more. Thank you for the meal.

During the Kanizanmai bus tour, we stopped by Oishi Sake Brewery. I had the opportunity to taste their new sake twice. Even though I'm not a fan of Pon sake, I found it fruity and delicious. The handsome cellar master, Houto, who made his debut on the TV show "Detective Night Scoop," was a bit rough around the edges but certainly present. I bought a souvenir for my son, who has recently become a fan of one-cup sake. While Otokoyama's one-cup sake was priced at 250 yen per bottle, here it was 500 yen for a 300ml bottle - equivalent to two one-cup sakes. It's the cost of having a handsome guy on the label. Established during the Genroku era, Oishi Sake Brewery is a long-established sake brewery. Their flagship product is 'Otokoyama'. Although I have never tried it myself, I have heard that it is often seen in Kyoto restaurants. The brewery has a spacious site with well-maintained exhibition rooms. Inside the exhibition room, there is a handsome mannequin wearing a happi coat, which is quite entertaining. I would love to try their sake if I come across it at a certain izakaya.
