I love Yoraku's strawberry daifuku because the strawberries are big and delicious. The strawberries are surrounded by white bean paste and wrapped in two layers of mochi, making it light and easy to eat. I always have two at a time. It goes well with tea. Yoraku's mixed fruit daifuku is the best, but the strawberry daifuku is also delicious. I felt happy after eating it again after a long time.

I first tried the strawberry daifuku here over 20 years ago. At that time, I rarely ate sweets or fruits, but the deliciousness of the strawberry daifuku here left a lasting impression on me. I recently tried it again after a few years, and it is still incredibly delicious. The freshness and sweetness of the strawberry, the softness of the mochi, and the overall taste and texture are all perfect. I don't think there is a better strawberry daifuku than this place. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing lunch at a nearby restaurant, we unexpectedly came across a shop specializing in strawberry daifuku. Intrigued, we decided to stop by. The shop seemed to be the main branch, although there is another one in Matsuiyamate. I ended up purchasing some "stylish traditional Japanese sweets" as my wife bought the daifuku. I also noticed they had my favorite snack, jōyō manjū, available in small sizes. They also had various sizes of samples for reservation. Although tempted, I resisted buying more and left with the daifuku and traditional sweets. Back home, we enjoyed the treats together. The daifuku was delicious, especially the strawberry one with a perfect balance of sweetness and a hint of acidity. The persimmon daifuku and fig daifuku were also tasty. It was a delightful discovery of new and delicious desserts.

I have never really thought that fruit daifuku was delicious. Sometimes I would buy it, but it always felt like something was missing. The only one that I thought might be delicious was the mikan daifuku I had in Ehime. It had a whole mikan inside, which was very juicy, and it had white bean paste. Yuraku-san. I knew about the store in Matsuyama, but it was always crowded, so I would just pass by. This time, on the way back from lunch, I happened to pass by the main store. When I saw the sign, I couldn't help but think, "Oh? This is Yuraku-san, right? I remember the fruit daifuku that Mairebi-sama had." "Wasn't it white bean paste?" "Is it delicious?" "It looks delicious!" I didn't know the main store was located here! My partner asked if we should stop by, and of course! We're definitely stopping by! At this time of year, the fruits may be different, but it would be nice if there was something delicious. I parked the car and went inside. It was early afternoon, and the daifuku available at that time were fig and persimmon, strawberry, and plum. There may have also been chestnut mochi. Among them, a particularly large fig daifuku caught my eye. It seemed to be popular, as it was the last one. It was a bit more expensive than the others, but it was big and I like figs. It's the season, so I also bought persimmon daifuku, and the classic strawberry daifuku. Let's each have one with our family, I thought, but in the end, we ended up sharing. I wanted to try all the varieties. I cut them up randomly and said, "Please help yourself to your favorite!" I made hot tea and let's eat. Starting with the classic strawberry daifuku. Maybe because I cut it, the first thing I tasted was the strawberry. Sweet, strawberry! Juicy! The slight acidity was also perfect! The white bean paste and mochi followed after. I thought the white bean paste would win, so I'm glad that the strawberry didn't lose. Strawberry daifuku, there is a delicious one! Next is the persimmon daifuku. A firm texture persimmon. The refined flavor of the persimmon wasn't overpowered by the white bean paste, and it might be delicious after all. Of course, the persimmon was fresh and sweet. Finally, the fig daifuku. I thought the bean paste would overpower it, but I ate it. Even when cut, it had quite a volume. I thought it would be overpowered by the bean paste, but the unique flavor of the fig was clearly noticeable. And the soft sweetness of the bean paste, the mochi disappeared in my mouth. Not to mention, the aftertaste also felt delicious. The fig itself was also sweet and very fresh. Even though the bean paste and mochi are sweet, the balance of each fruit's unique taste is well understood, perhaps because the overall balance is well thought out. And the fruits. The sweetness, elegance, and even the way the moisture is handled seem well thought out in the procurement. I wanted to try the pineapple that was chopped. White bean paste fruit daifuku, delicious. Especially the fig one, I really liked it. Next time, I'll buy enough for everyone. I might be okay buying from this store seasonally. Also, the chestnut-shaped baked goods my partner secretly bought. It was quietly delicious. Can't stop eating.

In the morning, I visited my mother's grave at a cemetery in Joyo. Afterwards, I passed by this store on my way and decided to stop by. Back in high school, my friends and I used to come here to buy their famous "strawberry daifuku". That was almost 40 years ago. My mother and I also visited once, and she loved their "sekihan" (red bean rice). It was by chance that my husband chose this route on the day of my mother's grave visit. The sweets we tried on that day were my husband's choice - mitarashi dango and warabi-an. They were not too sweet and had a nice balance of flavors. We didn't get the strawberry daifuku this time, but I hope to come back for it in the future. Thank you for the meal.

A friend who came to my house brought a souvenir *\(^o^)/* We went to a soba restaurant for lunch and unexpectedly ran into another friend who was staying at a nearby second home. We first visited this friend's second home and had the peach daifuku. I thought I couldn't eat peaches anymore, so I was happy *\(^o^)/* It was quite large, so half was enough. The sweetness was just right, and the white bean paste was elegant and very delicious. I took the strawberry daifuku home and ate it later. I chilled it in the refrigerator, and the daifuku skin became slightly firm, which was also delicious. I love the rice cake. This was a special day, so I was very happy with this souvenir. Is it strange to have red rice as an offering? But my husband also likes red rice, so it's okay (^з^)-☆

I suddenly felt like eating the "Fruit Daifuku" here after a long time, so I decided to visit the shop! When I arrived after 5:00 PM, I was prepared for the possibility of the items being sold out, but when I entered the shop, the male staff member who had served me before with a smile welcomed me warmly! The "Fruit Daifuku" items were almost sold out as expected, so I chose from what was left. I purchased the following items this time: - Pineapple Daifuku 300 yen - Ohagi 170 yen - Chestnut Pie 220 yen *All prices include tax First, I tried the Pineapple Daifuku. When I cut it open, I could see pineapple seeds inside. The smell of ripe pineapple filled the air, and the fruit was juicy and delicious. Next, I tried the Ohagi, which had a slightly chewy texture but a great taste of red bean. Lastly, the Chestnut Pie had a whole chestnut inside, and the buttery flavor of the pie crust paired well with the chestnut and sweet bean paste. Although the items I wanted were sold out this time, I still enjoyed my selections. I would like to visit earlier next time to try the Peach Daifuku and Grape Daifuku that caught my eye! Thank you for the delicious treats!

Because it's Children's Day, I decided to buy kashiwa mochi and chimaki, so I went to Yoraku, famous for their strawberry daifuku. Normally I go to Nagi or Shinmei, but this time I went to the main store in Joyo. They open at 9:30 AM, while other stores open at 10 AM. I bought kashiwa mochi with smooth red bean paste, miso paste, coarse red bean paste (with mugwort), 5 chimaki, and strawberry daifuku. Everything was delicious. I arrived at 9:30 AM and there was already a line forming at the popular store. The strawberry daifuku was especially amazing! Thank you for the meal.

After enjoying a delicious tonkatsu at Maruka Shokudo in Nagaokakyo City, it's natural to crave something sweet, right? When I asked my friend if there was any place they wanted to go, they said, "Let's go to Yoraku!" So, we hopped into my beloved car, Rapako, and headed there right away! We arrived at the shop around 1:30 pm. Looking at the showcase, it seemed like there were fewer varieties of fruit daifuku compared to my last visit. Maybe it's seasonal? Anyway, since we couldn't find what we were looking for, we decided to choose from what was available. Here's what we bought this time: - Orange Daifuku 350 yen - Uguisu Mochi 170 yen - Plum Daifuku 210 yen - Chestnut Pie 210 yen - Mikasa (complimentary) Now, let's talk about each item: - Orange Daifuku: It had a big piece of orange inside, giving it a slightly larger size. The taste was more like orange or maybe even a hint of orange flavor. The sweetness depended on the fruit inside. - Uguisu Mochi: It had large azuki beans inside and a green coating, which I couldn't identify. The taste was pretty normal. - Plum Daifuku: It contained Kishu plum and white bean paste. The plum taste stood out, and it was sweet and sour. - Chestnut Pie: My friend liked it, so we got it, but I didn't try it this time. - Mikasa: It was given to us as a service by the kind male staff. It had a fluffy and thick dough with delicious sweet red bean paste inside. I really wanted to have strawberry daifuku, but my friend vetoed it, saying we had it last time. They also bought the chestnut pie again this time. Next time, I'll make sure to voice my opinion! If I get the chance to visit again, I'll definitely go for strawberry daifuku! Thank you for the meal!

I visited the shop after seeing the food review by a MyReviewer in January 2021. It is located a few minutes' walk west from Kintetsu Kyoto Line Kutsukawa Station. Their specialty seems to be strawberry daifuku, but they also have other baked goods. I purchased the following items: - Strawberry Daifuku: The shop's website claims that they are the best-selling strawberry daifuku in Kyoto. The sweet and juicy strawberry is surrounded by white anko and mochi. The perfect balance of volume and the subtle white anko enhances the goodness of the strawberry. It was incredibly delicious, and I could see why they are the best-selling in Kyoto. - Orange Daifuku: I forgot to take a photo of this one. The basic structure is the same as the strawberry daifuku, but the orange is larger. Just like with the strawberry, they use high-quality fruit. The combination of subtle white anko and mochi enhances the goodness of the fruit. - Chestnut Mikasa: I forgot to take a photo of this one as well. This is a dorayaki with chestnut sweet bean paste in the center. It is simply delicious. Compared to the special feeling of the fruit daifuku, this one is more ordinary. As of January 2021, the shop has a rating of 3.32 on Tabelog, but I think it deserves a higher rating. They seem to have various fruit daifuku depending on the season, so I would like to stop by occasionally in the future.

Driving in a car with my friend near Kintetsu Hisatsu River Station in Joyo City, Kyoto Prefecture...((((((((((っ・ω・)っ ブーン Suddenly, my friend said, "Isn't this near Hisatsu River Station? I remember there was a delicious Japanese sweets shop called 'Yuraku' around here!"... and immediately I searched on Tabelog!! (*゚∀゚︎)σ "Oh, it's true! The ratings are quite high, and the fruit daifuku looks delicious!"... So we decided to head to the "Yuraku Main Store" on the spot!! The shop is located in a residential area, and while driving, I thought, "Is there really a famous Japanese sweets shop around here??"... It was a bit surprising! (^◇^;)lol Inside, it was surprisingly spacious, with only one table set up as an eat-in space! (b゚v`*) And there was alcohol placed near the entrance for COVID-19 prevention measures! ( ^ω^ )b ------------------------------------------------------------------ This time, the items I purchased were: ⚫︎ Strawberry Daifuku 260 yen ⚫︎ La France Daifuku 320 yen ⚫︎ Chestnut Mochi 180 yen ⚫︎ Chestnut Pie 210 yen *All prices include tax ◆ Strawberry Daifuku ◆ The most popular item at "Yuraku" is the "Strawberry Daifuku"! It's said to sell over 240,000 pieces a year, making it the top-selling strawberry daifuku in Kyoto Prefecture! (;゚Д゚,) Inside, there is white bean paste with one piece of strawberry! (b゚v`*) The strawberry is juicy and sweet! The sweetness of the white bean paste is elegant, and it's no wonder this is the top-selling item! ◆ La France Daifuku ◆ This is a limited quantity item, the La France Daifuku! (*゚v゚*) Made with delicious La France pears sent directly from Yamagata Prefecture! It's about two sizes bigger than the strawberry daifuku and has a chunky piece of La France pear inside! When you bite into it, the aroma of La France pear wafts through your nose, and the contrast between the crunchy texture and the soft mochi texture is very enjoyable! (人´∀︎`o) ◆ Chestnut Mochi ◆ I saw a banner for this item in front of the shop, so I decided to buy it! (b゚v`*) There was also a similar item called "Marron Daifuku," so I asked the staff about the difference between that and "Chestnut Mochi"! "Marron Daifuku" has whipped cream and chestnut paste inside, while "Chestnut Mochi" has a whole chestnut inside...(*゚v゚*) So I chose the "Chestnut Mochi"!‹‹\(´ω` )/›› When I cut it in half, there was a chestnut on top and chestnut paste below! However, the chestnut flavor and sweetness were a bit weak... Maybe it was just that day, but the fruit daifuku definitely wins! ◆ Chestnut Pie ◆ This is a pie crust on the outside, with a whole chestnut and sweet bean paste inside! ( ˶ˆ꒳ˆ˵ ) The sign said "Chestnut Pie," but the package said "Full of Chestnuts"! |∀︎・)))) My friend remembered trying this a few years ago when it was a gift from a client at work and was impressed by its deliciousness! d(´∀︎`*) She asked the client where they got it from and went to buy it herself...! ( ゚д゚)オオ-!! Passing by near Kintetsu Hisatsu River Station reminded her of that...! (b゚v`*) My friend was reminiscing about that time, saying, "This, this taste! It's delicious!" but personally, I thought it was just okay... (^^;; ------------------------------------------------------------------ When we visited the shop around 2 pm, the "Shine Muscat" and "Persimmon" flavors were already sold out...!! ( ºΔº )〣ガ-ン The "Strawberry Daifuku" and "La France Daifuku" were delicious, so I'm really curious about the persimmon and Shine Muscat flavors now...! (;:゚:;д;:゚

Parking? You can park on the road in front of the store. I bought Mame Daifuku and Chestnut Daifuku. Maybe because I know about Isshindo and Futaba's Mame Daifuku, I felt this shop was simple and down-to-earth.

I visited this shop to try their most popular strawberry daifuku. Even though it is August and strawberries are typically out of season, I'm sure there is a high demand for them. This shop uses a variety of strawberries called "Natsu Ruby" from Tokushima prefecture to make strawberry daifuku even in the summer. When I arrived at the shop, alongside the strawberry daifuku, there was also a grape daifuku which seemed to be a new seasonal product. I decided to try both. The summer strawberry daifuku had a slight acidity, perfect for this season, and a refreshing taste. The combination of the mildly sweet white bean paste was excellent, creating a pleasant coolness. The smoothness of the double-layered mochi that gently enveloped the filling added to the high-quality taste of this shop's signature confection. On the other hand, the grape daifuku was filled with juicy grape filling, offering a different light and delicious flavor compared to the strawberry daifuku. Fruit combinations in traditional Japanese sweets used to be eye-catching due to their novelty and creativity. Now, they have become staple products that hold a significant position. Fruit daifuku, incorporating new ideas into classic Japanese sweets, still holds many possibilities.

Located in a residential area near Joyo Hirakawa Nishi Post Office, when you head west from Kintetsu Hisatsugawa Station, this place has a cozy and familiar atmosphere that has been rooted in the community for many years. The shop has a simple yet bright ambiance, with seasonal Japanese sweets on display. Each sweet is carefully handmade with a focus on quality ingredients. When you make a purchase, you are treated to complimentary kombu tea and Japanese sweets. The strawberry daifuku is priced at 220 yen, and it is so popular that they have sold up to 8000 pieces in a day. There are two sizes available, with the smaller mini strawberry daifuku priced at 180 yen and only available in limited quantities without reservations. The mochi is thick, yet not overly sticky, with a fine and soft texture. The white bean paste inside has a gentle sweetness, a light taste, and a distinct bean flavor. The carefully selected strawberries are large, with a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness, giving a refreshing and juicy taste. The strawberry daifuku is a popular item that attracts customers from afar, with a continuous flow of visitors due to its delicious combination of strawberry, mochi, and white bean paste, making it a well-rounded treat.

*I have not visited the store myself, so this review is based solely on the items I received. In March 2014, my family had some business in the direction of Joyo City in Kyoto, and they contacted me from there asking if they should buy something as a souvenir. I remembered the existence of Yuraku and quickly checked their website. I requested 6 Japanese sweets that caught my eye and they bought them on their way back.* **Strawberry Daifuku (\220, March 2014)** "A daifuku wrapped in a light homemade white bean paste with carefully selected large strawberries in a hagoromo mochi." Weight 85g (actual measurement). Must be refrigerated and consumed on the same day. Since my family returned late at night (sweat), I stored it in the refrigerator and had it the next morning. Despite being chilled in the refrigerator, the mochi did not dry out or harden. It had a moderate stretch and elasticity, with a soft texture typical of mochi. The mochi had a slight sweetness. The white bean paste inside was smooth and had an elegant sweetness. The strawberry was sweet and sour with a fresh taste. The acidity of the strawberry paired well with the sweetness of the white bean paste, creating a well-balanced deliciousness. It was light and easy to eat. It had a good volume and satisfying to eat, making it understandable why it is a popular product at Yuraku. **Sakura Sakura (\150, March 2014)** "The dough is lighter than 'Mikasa'. The filling inside is homemade 'strawberry bean paste'. The strawberries used to make this 'strawberry bean paste' are quite delicious, so it is delicious." A confectionery wrapped in a dorayaki dough with strawberry bean paste. As the name suggests, there are two cherry blossom stamps on the surface of the dough. Weight 55g (actual measurement). The dough had a strong eggy castella-like fragrance and a moist texture. Surprisingly, the sweetness was restrained, with a hint of caramel-like flavor. The strawberry bean paste inside was based on white bean paste, with a soft and sticky texture. It was fun to have the seeds popping in the smooth texture. Although it was a bean paste, it had a fruity strawberry taste with an elegant sweetness. A mysterious deliciousness! It goes well with green tea, but also pairs nicely with black tea. **White Grain Dora (\160, March 2014)** "Although it looks like 'Mikasa', the dough is slightly different and even delicious when eaten alone. It goes perfectly with our original 'white grain bean paste' inside. Winner of the 24th National Confectionery Exhibition 'Gold Award'." A dorayaki filled with white grain bean paste. Size is diameter 8.5cm x thickness 3cm, weight 86g (actual measurement). The package contains a deoxidizer. The dough was moist and had a soft texture. It had a strong sweetness similar to castella. The dough had a deep brown color, giving it a strong sweet and fragrant taste. The white grain bean paste inside was sticky with a chunky texture of hand-beaten beans, adding a nice accent. Both the dough and the bean paste had a strong sweetness, making it a quintessential Japanese confectionery dorayaki. Although I prefer less sweetness, it was good to enjoy with hot green tea. **Fig Fructose Confectionery (\175, March 2014)** "A confectionery made by pickling and aging whole figs, a specialty product of the local Joyo City, in a unique way." A confectionery made by pickling and aging a whole fig, weight 56g (actual measurement). It was packed in a paper case with a deoxidizer in the package. The texture was quite sticky and dense, requiring some effort to cut it in half with a knife. The sweetness was quite pronounced due to the pickling, but the aftertaste retained the natural flavor of the fig, so it was not an unpleasant sweetness. It was like fig yokan, with a surprisingly large size and a satisfying taste. It would be perfect as a tea snack and had a deliciousness that was somewhat addictive. **Terada Sweet Potato (\150, March 2014)** "Based on Naruto Kintoki, we have developed our own method to create a fresh cream-like texture."

I had a chance to visit the main store near Kutsukawa Station on a Saturday, and I happened to pass by the front of the shop so I decided to go in. I knew about the Kamiakira shop, but I didn't realize the main store was located here! It's in a residential area close by. Inside the store, there were tables and chairs set up. As I looked around the shop, they offered me tea with a sweet snack. I sat down on a chair and enjoyed the sweet snack, which was like a soft square-shaped sweet bean paste with mochi inside. The tea was kelp tea, and although I thought green tea or roasted tea would have been a better match for this sweet, I still enjoyed it. They also had dried fig candy for sampling on the table, so I tried that too. It was quite sweet, and I personally prefer regular dried figs. After finishing the tea, I peeked into the showcase. I had decided to buy a strawberry daifuku, and there were two sizes available. I opted for the smaller size, wondering if the size of the strawberry was different. I also bought a plum daifuku and a bean daifuku. The total came to 540 yen. There were benches and tables near the entrance of a shrine next to Kutsukawa Station, so I decided to sit there and eat. It seemed like a nice spot for locals to relax, with even a household waste bin available! It was a good place to have a meal outdoors. I started with the strawberry daifuku. The acidity of the strawberry was refreshing, and the mochi was soft and smooth. The strawberry wasn't very sweet yet. Overall, the balance of flavors felt like the strawberry's acidity was too strong and the sweetness was too subtle. I think the regular size might have a better balance with more sweet bean paste. This would probably taste even better when strawberries are in season. The plum daifuku had a whole green plum inside, and I accidentally bit into the seed. It had a unique taste, not really to my liking. The bean daifuku, with black beans inside, was more to my taste. If I have the chance to go back, I'd like to try the regular size strawberry daifuku.

I was born and raised in Kyoto. When it comes to strawberry daifuku, it's gotta be Yoraku. I can't eat any other strawberry daifuku because Yoraku's are so delicious. And their Nashi (Japanese pear) sweets are surprisingly tasty too! They are perfect for someone like me who always seeks smooth and moist textures. The prices are a bit high, so I don't go there too often, but I treat myself once a month. It would be great if they could check out a bit faster, especially when I'm in a rush during work. I'm so glad to be living in Kyoto!!!
