During the day, I was tired from activities like the Hozugawa River boat ride. However, after deciding to visit Granada, I dragged my feet into the Riga Royal Hotel around 10 p.m. I entered a dimly lit bar on the basement floor, where there was only one other customer at the counter. I sat at the counter and opened the menu, contemplating what to drink. Remembering a recommendation or an original cocktail, I ordered the "Riga Kyoto Special" (1000 yen), a rum-based cocktail that seemed easy to drink but likely had a high alcohol content due to its short size. As I leisurely sipped on it, the other customer left, leaving me alone. There were two staff members, one of whom was busy making drinks. For my second drink, I ordered the "Piña Colada" (1600 yen), a beautifully decorated tropical cocktail with Malibu as the base. The taste of this cocktail can vary greatly from one bar to another, but I found the one here to be delicious with a solid flavor. The Granada has been operating for over 40 years since the hotel opened, adorned with timeless lamps and paintings by famous Spanish artists. The bar itself had plenty of seating, and I imagined it could accommodate a fair number of customers. However, on a summer weekday night, I was the only customer. This allowed for various conversations, which I enjoyed as I believe in engaging with the staff when sitting at the counter. While I would have liked to savor the opportunity of having the bar to myself, by around 11:30 p.m., the fatigue from the day and the slight buzz from the drinks made me quite sleepy, prompting me to bid farewell. The two cocktails cost 2600 yen, with a service charge of 260 yen, and consumption tax of 143 yen, totaling 3003 yen.
