In March 2022, when I visited the Kameoka area, I went to "Maki-gama Pan Fukukuru" bakery. Although I had passed by a few times before, I had always thought it was a private residence and overlooked it. Inside the impressive house (shop), they bake homemade natural yeast bread in a handmade kiln, creating a charming atmosphere. When I entered, I saw various delicious bread such as Sausage Dog, Croque Monsieur, and Bacon Epi. This time, I purchased about four bread items focusing on local ingredients. They also had bagels, among other things. I bought the following: - Sakura Daizu (Soybean) Bread (350 yen): A bread with salted cherry leaves mixed into the dough and combined with large daizu beans, resembling cherry mochi. - Black Soybean Bread (310 yen): Made with Kameoka-grown, pesticide-free "Kurosenkoku" small black beans. - Seasonal Yeast Bread (Sake Lees Yeast Petit France) (240 yen): Using sake lees from Oishi Sake Brewery. - Chibimaki Bread (Sweet Red Bean) (130 yen). I enjoyed them at home immediately. Each bread had delicious dough, with local ingredients adding a nice touch. Personally, I especially liked the Sakura Daizu and Black Soybean Bread. I look forward to trying the Sausage Dog and Bacon Epi next time. Thank you for the meal!

I visited FukuKuru, a wood-fired oven bakery in Kameoka. It's a bakery in an old Japanese house. I bought mini loaf, lemon fruit campagne, bagel, bacon epi, and scones. The loaf was incredibly soft and toasting it made it crispy, with just the right amount of salt. The bacon epi was chewy. The fruit campagne and scones were delicious too. Once again, I found a great bakery.

The croque monsieur was fantastic and delicious. The bagel with cream cheese and orange needs some improvement in the texture of the bagel, but the combination of cream cheese and orange puree shows promise. The miso cheese campanile has a crispy exterior and a soft interior, and the salty taste goes well with red wine. The bakery specializes in wood-fired bread, but they don't offer sandwich bread, baguettes, or Danish pastries. The shop is only open three days a week, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11:30 to 16:00, so it can be difficult to visit. They also have occasional days off, so it's recommended to check their website before going. I had tried to visit before but they were closed, so I made the effort to come back this time. I even cycled 40km each way for 2 hours and 40 minutes to get there.

FukuKuru, I apologize for not visiting for a while. It's not that I was tired of it, I just couldn't make it. No matter where I go, I get excited by new encounters and impressed by the deliciousness, but FukuKuru's bread always feels right in my body. The gentle atmosphere of the shop is packed into the bread, creating a special taste. The miso cheese campanule is so dear to me, the aroma alone brings back nostalgic memories. It's now a bit smaller and easier to buy. Even though it's small, it's still delicious. I couldn't wait and had a little in the car. The fruit and nut campanule is also a favorite of mine. It would be nice if there were more orange peels in it. The wine-scented chocolate campanule is just too delicious! It smells like wine and is so juicy. It's a very adult-like bread. Even my boyfriend, who doesn't like sweet things, loved it. I, who love dark chocolate, was right in the middle of it. The raisins and figs are so delicious. I want to eat more, but I resisted and took it home. I look forward to baking and eating them. FukuKuru is a wonderful bakery that I love and can't wait to visit again.

Recently, I visited a bakery on the way from Kyoto to Kameoka and Osaka, which had been closed three times. They explained that during the summer, it's difficult for their natural yeast to work properly, so they had to take a break. I had thought they were closed because the wood-fired oven was too hot, but maybe that's also a reason? The bakery offers a variety of healthy and delicious breads, most of which are dairy-free. I bought some for my daughter who is coming back soon: bagels, mini wood-fired oven bread, pumpkin bread, nut and dried fruit bread, half pea bread, and sourdough petit France. The next morning, I enjoyed the dried fruit bread and the pea bread with some apples from Nagano that had arrived at the bakery. The dried fruit bread was sliced thin and had a chewy texture with sweet and sour fruits. The pea bread had a crispy crust with lots of air bubbles, making it delicious. It's a bit of a drive to get there, but if you're in the area, I recommend stopping by this bakery. Just make sure not to miss the small sign by the road!

When I was returning from Kameoka, I noticed the sign for Shin'yo Bakery Fukukuru-san for the first time. They had a variety of bagels, including Campagne, which I bought. You can also eat in the store, and I saw one group enjoying their meal. I had Campagne toast with butter, but since it's a natural yeast bread, it has a slight acidity that goes better with jam than butter. The crust had a nice flavor and it was really delicious! It was more of a well-behaved taste than a super tasty one. I will definitely buy it again in the future.

On May 5th (Saturday) around 12 o'clock, I was informed by a friend who loves bread that there is a bakery in the mountains of Kameoka where they bake bread with firewood. Although my friend had never been there, they urged me to go check it out. I was hesitating, but after seeing the photos on Tabelog, the bread looked delicious, so I decided to go. It was during Golden Week when I was visiting my parents, so it was a perfect opportunity. After some research, I found out that it was near Hokiji Pass, which happened to be very close to my parents' house. It felt like a backyard, so I was nervous about going into the mountains, but after crossing the pass, the drive was a bit challenging but scenic. When I noticed a small sign, I had already passed it, so I had to make a U-turn and found another sign for Fuku-Kuru bakery along the narrow road. The place was packed with cars, indicating its popularity. I had to park at a vacant space near a sign along the road. The bakery looked like a regular old house without the sign. Apologizing for the intrusion, I opened the sliding door to a face-to-face sales style. There was only one group of customers ahead of me, which seemed less crowded considering the full parking lot. I noticed a tatami room that served as a cafe space, where coffee was being served. I wanted to try it, but I decided to save it for next time. The items I purchased were fig and walnut campagne, bagel, orange & cream cheese cinnamon roll, anpan, bacon epi baguette, among others. I chose the orange & cream cheese bagel, which had a nice orange peel aroma and a good amount of cheese. It had the perfect chewy texture I expected, and it was delicious. The anpan was small with sesame seeds on top, filled with delicious sweet red bean paste. My child's feedback was that it was not too sweet and tasty. The anpan seemed to have a French bread dough-like appearance. The cinnamon roll was not overly sweet, which was good. The bread dough had a slight sourness, but it had a good flavor and texture. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

2017/0113 Another revisit★ Once again, I visited without a reservation, but they had some available. They had the miso cheese campagne bread! I arrived 30 minutes early by mistake, but they welcomed me warmly. The miso cheese campagne bread had changed its shape from round to rectangular for easier cutting. They kindly mentioned that the shape affects the texture, so let them know if you have any preferences. I purchased two loaves, including the freshly baked ones from yesterday. I also tried the chocolate campagne bread for the first time. Additionally, I had the freshly baked white miso red bean bagel. The miso cheese campagne bread was my favorite, with a slightly thicker outer layer that added a different texture. I really love this bread. The chocolate campagne bread had a rich chocolate aroma and paired well with fruits like figs. It made me feel luxurious with each bite. The white miso red bean bagel was incredibly delicious, with a chewy texture similar to baked rice cakes, a hint of saltiness from the red bean paste, and a crunchy texture from the walnuts. I couldn't stop talking about the deliciousness on the way back home. Fukukuru is truly amazing. 2016/1125 Another revisit★ A loyal customer reservation for another visit. I was grateful for being able to visit my beloved miso cheese campagne bread again from Osaka. The autumn leaves were beautiful, and I was excited as I was welcomed. They had reserved two loaves for me, knowing that I couldn't come often in winter. They seemed to remember me when I entered the store, which made me happy. I also got to taste the stollen, which made me feel happy. Of course, I immediately enjoyed it in the car! It's delicious, isn't it? It's still delicious! I want to tell everyone how delicious it is. The miso cheese campagne bread, with its simple combination of dough and cheese, is incredibly delicious. It offers various flavors to enjoy, from the smoky aroma and bitterness of the outer layer to the chewy and moist dough with chunks of mild cheese. I don't know why I'm so captivated by the simplicity of this bread; maybe it's the amazingness of miso. What's even more amazing is that it tastes even better when taken home. There's no way I could finish it all. When toasted, it becomes even more delicious, with the dough's elasticity, crispy exterior, and the cheese becoming pleasantly soft, enhancing the miso flavor when warmed up. I also tried the fig and walnut campagne bread, and when compared, it was clear that miso cheese does an excellent job! I really love it to the point of being annoying. The fig and walnut campagne bread is delicious as well, as I know the fruit campagne bread from Fukukuru. But I guess it's my fault for loving miso cheese too much. I felt a bit unsatisfied with the other bread. The yuzu chocolate bread has a soft dough with a refined aroma and bitterness of yuzu. The combination of chocolate and yuzu creates a delicious bread for adults. Ah, the reassurance of having miso cheese campagne bread stocked in the freezer. It's really sad that my boyfriend can't eat cheese. Today, I'll enjoy the best toast with excitement! 2016/0602 Another revisit★ After a while due to family circumstances, Fukukuru is back in business, and I received the reopening announcement! I waited in the car for the opening time and visited the store. I waited so long that I was exhausted, but it was worth it. During that time, I even went to a bakery with baked oven bread, thinking they might have bread similar to Fukukuru. Both were really delicious and beautiful. I had the chance to try various breads and had a great time. However, the miso cheese campagne bread here is truly special, as I confirmed once again. What makes it so special? I love it to the point of wondering why. The cheese doesn't overpower the dough, and the dough doesn't overpower the cheese. It's perfectly balanced, with a great aroma when baked, crispy yet chewy.

On this day, I visited various shops and ended up forgetting the names of the items I purchased here. I apologize for the vague writing. I arrived before the opening hours, so I waited in the vacant lot next door (parking space). The weather was nice that day, and it reminded me of the peaceful countryside where I used to visit relatives when I was young. I wondered if it was difficult to come all the way here, but then several cars arrived one after another. When the store opened, I went inside. Surprisingly, it was a small shop with a face-to-face service. While I was choosing, the customers who came later all waited outside. Although they were not displayed in the showcase, they also had mini bread. When I asked what type of bread they had, they said I would understand if I looked through the glass. I wasn't looking for that kind of answer, but the other customers were waiting behind me, and some acquaintances of the shop owner came, so I quickly selected a few items and left. I purchased mini pain de campagne (probably 1/4 size), two types of bagels, and five scones for 1110 yen. The mini bread had a crispy texture, and the pain de campagne was chewy with a tangy flavor. It may not be my favorite type. The bagels were delicious, but the cream cheese & orange one had a strong orange flavor. The scones were sesame! I wonder where the soybean flour went... Considering the journey to get here and the taste of the shop, I wonder if I will visit again? It's quite difficult to decide.

When I go from my home in Kyoto to Osaka or Toyonaka, I often drive. I take the Kyoto Jukan Road or the rural roads through Minoh Tunnel and Nosesan, and once through the tunnel, I am in the bustling city of Senri Chuo. Along the way, I casually look around for interesting shops while enjoying a leisurely drive. Sometimes, my daughter sitting in the passenger seat spots a small sign. "Huh, Wood-fired Oven Bread?" she wonders. She overlooked it, but it caught my attention. Someone who had liked my post on social media had introduced a natural yeast bread shop in Kameoka, and I thought, "Isn't that on the way?" So, I went there right away. I bought bread when heading to Osaka, and bought some again when returning. I also bought some when I went to Osaka at the end of the year. I wanted to buy some when returning to Kyoto, but my freezer was full, so I had to pass. In less than a month, I went there three times. It's become my favorite. They bake the bread in a rocket stove. You can see the kiln through the glass from the earthen floor of the old folk house. The natural yeast is self-fermented, and the wheat flour is domestically produced. A young couple runs the shop. Having experience living in an old folk house, I couldn't help but ask, "Isn't it cold?" But near the wood-fired kiln, it was warm and cozy. I bought mountain bread, bagels, miso campanile, and scones. In the dim, thin earth-floored shop, I didn't notice the mountain bread, but when I saw it in the bright room, I was thrilled. The crust looked delicious. The bread was chewy and substantial. The campanile had a nice natural aroma. This street also has an egg over rice shop, an English village of Durimton with red tea, a Tanba beef shop, and a vast gardening place called The Farm Universal in Ibaraki City. The cafe here was a disappointment, but the cacti were amazing. I was having so much fun that I was running late for Osaka. If you have a car, you should definitely check it out!

We participated in a handmade market held at a shop that has a connection with our company's activities on Halloween day~ヽ(*´∀`)ノ I had known about this shop even before it opened, but I couldn't visit because of my schedule. This was my first purchase from them, and unfortunately, the bread I was aiming for was already sold out due to the hustle and bustle. So, I bought some biscotti and scones instead~♪♪ The biscotti, a firm Italian cookie, is one of my favorites. I can't stand it when they are too soft, but this one was perfectly crunchy and fragrant~(*≧∀≦*) It had a nice touch of raspberry flavor too. The matcha scone with chocolate chips was also delicious, with a crispy and fluffy texture that I really enjoyed~ We are planning to visit with a few colleagues next time as a way of introducing ourselves (lol) Since they have irregular opening hours, it might be a good idea to contact them in advance before going♪♪

Pan no Yama bakery's bread is amazing. The Campani Miso Cheese, Campani Fruit Nut, Strawberry Yeast French Bread, Uji Matcha Kanoko, Anchovy Walnut, Uguisu Shokupan, and Moromi Miso Shokupan were all delicious. The bakery has a wonderful aroma that stimulates the senses. The Strawberry Yeast French Bread had a fruity aroma and a gentle taste. The Uji Matcha Kanoko had a strong matcha flavor with a hint of sweetness from the kanoko. The Anchovy Walnut was addictive, with the smoky flavor from the stone oven enhancing the anchovy and walnut combination. The Uguisu Shokupan was light and spring-like in color, with a perfect balance of butter and uguisu beans. Overall, the bread from Pan no Yama bakery is deep and satisfying, making it perfect for a relaxing day of enjoying bread.

I purchased from the Re:Bake website. It included Lemon and Earl Grey Campagne Sausage Ring Bagel, Cinnamon Raisin Matcha and Azuki Bean Bread, Onion Bread, Yeast Scones, Cranberry Chocolate Olive Walnut Campagne, and Fruit Nut Bread, a total of 8 different kinds of bread. The scones used rice koji yeast, while the other bread used raisin yeast. These were breads that I wouldn't have chosen myself, but they were delicious. This is what makes Re:Bake great - unexpected encounters like this.

After patiently waiting for a long time, I finally... I had the pleasure of trying Fukukuru's Campagne bread, which I ordered for the first time. The Campagne bread comes in flavors like chocolate, fruit, and of course, miso cheese. I just can't find a Campagne bread that I love more than this one. I eagerly wait in front of the toaster, just like a dog waiting for a treat. Every bite makes me go, "Mmm!" and I can't stop. Even though I'm already full, I still want more. Whether you love Campagne bread or not, I highly recommend trying Fukukuru's Campagne bread. Whether you eat it as is, toast it, slice it thinly, or thickly, each bite offers a different deliciousness. It's hard to describe, but each bite warms your heart. What sets apart Fukukuru's bread from others? It's not just about the taste, but there's something deeper about it. The complexity... no, the depth of this feeling. Even though there are many delicious bread out there, Fukukuru's bread conveys something more. It feels like... basking in the sun.

I am addicted to the following breads: 2 Miso Cheese Campagnes, 1 Fruit and Nut Campagne, 1 Matcha and Anko Campagne, 1 Orange and Earl Grey Campagne, and 1 Walnut and Fig Campagne. The Moromi Cheese Shokupan is also a must-try, with a unique deliciousness different from the Miso Cheese Campagne. It's been a while since I last visited, as they often don't have these breads available when I go. Ordering them online is truly wonderful. I love the Miso Cheese Campagne for its perfect balance of miso flavor, but this Shokupan with Moromi offers a straightforward joy when you bite into it, and the distribution of ingredients is top-notch. Who knew that Shokupan could be this delicious? I usually prefer Campagne, but this made me appreciate the goodness of Shokupan. The Matcha and Anko Campagne has a gentle matcha aroma that is delightful, with the sweet anko beans adding a nice touch. The beautiful color is also charming and I might get addicted to it (laughs). I have tried the other breads before, so I will refrain from sharing my thoughts on them. Overall, everything was incredibly delicious. Fuku Kuru's breads never fail to put a smile on my face with each bite. They don't just satisfy my hunger, but also fill me with joy.

Corona? Omicron? I won't lose to them! But I really want to get my third vaccine shot early, so I asked Fukukuru-san for another delivery today. I received my favorite, deliciously fragrant and satisfyingly heavy items. Here are my thoughts on each: - Miso Cheese Campagne: The rich aroma and crispy texture make this bread delicious even before taking a bite. The combination of the outer wheat and miso flavors, chewy interior, and gentle cheese is a delight. The deep flavors linger in your mouth, making you crave for more. A sinful bread that ignores your stomach. I am grateful for having encountered this special bread that has become something truly special to me. - Orange Chocolate Campagne: This bread is a must-toast-and-eat kind of bread. The intense melting of the chocolate paired with the sweet orange peel is amazing! The bold flavors demand attention, and toasting it separately before devouring it hot is a must. The powerful flavor, along with the delightful fragrance and chewiness of Fukukuru-san's Campagne bread, fills your mouth with happiness. You simply can't get enough. - Lemon and Earl Grey Campagne: The gentle yet fragrant Earl Grey combined with the refreshing lemon is lovely. The delicious lemon peel adds a burst of flavor, making each bite a delightful experience. The juiciness of the lemon and the aroma of Earl Grey are perfectly balanced. The bread is slightly less crispy, adding to its gentle and delightful nature. - Walnut and Fig Campagne: This classic combination may seem common, but this bread is different. It allows you to savor the Campagne bread while enjoying the delicious mix of ingredients. It's a versatile bread that tastes great with butter, olive oil, or ham. The joy of discovering the oiliness of the walnuts and the deep sweetness of the figs is a delightful experience. - Fruit and Nut Campagne: This bread, along with the Miso Cheese Campagne, has been a staple for me. It's a vibrant Campagne that can be enjoyed as a meal bread. Whether you eat it with butter or olive oil and ham, it's delicious. The feeling of tearing into the elastic Campagne bread and enjoying its texture is truly satisfying. I can't wait to have it again soon! Fukukuru-san's bread not only provides a variety of flavors to enjoy but also brings comfort and motivation. It's a bread that I want to have by my side in my daily life.
