Visited as the second place on a Sunday night. The restaurant was full, but I was able to get in because I had called ahead. The interior was clean and had a nice atmosphere. There were also foreigners, making it lively. I really like this kind of place. As the second place, I just enjoyed craft beer without having a meal. I felt the prices were a bit high, but when you're drunk, you tend to stop caring. They also had fresh oysters. I'd like to try eating while drinking next time. The staff were cheerful and fun to watch.

Near the Kyoto Manga Museum, there is a shop that offers a variety of beers along with delicious dishes and snacks. You can choose from sizes S, M, and L for the beers, with the best value being the L size if you want to drink a lot. The beers were well chilled and there were many unique types to try, all of which were delicious. The dishes were also tasty and paired well with the beers. In particular, the tomato stew dish had a flavor that made you crave pasta. If I have the chance to visit Kyoto again, I would definitely want to go back to this place.

I wandered around without relying on the internet and stumbled upon a nice-looking restaurant for lunch. The atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly, so I decided to give it a try! It seemed to be a craft beer place. They were having an event collaborating with FUKUOKA CRAFT BREWING, a brewery from Fukuoka. They had about 10 types of craft beers from FUKUOKA CRAFT BREWING and 6 types of Fukuoka specialty foods available. I started with an ale beer in a pint, which was very easy to drink and delicious. I ordered sesame mackerel, gyoza, and grilled skirt steak for food. They were all so tasty that I couldn't resist ordering another pint of lager. The place was full of regular customers and international guests, all enjoying craft beer in a friendly atmosphere. The staff recommended a dessert shop and the brewer introduced me to the charms of Fukuoka. It felt like a festive time! I now want to visit both this restaurant and FUKUOKA CRAFT BREWING's shop.

On Friday, I finished work early and decided to stop by. It was around 5 o'clock, but tap 3 and 4 were already sold out. What's up with that? I tried the Sour IPA from Niitaka Brewing, which was vibrant and had a strong hop flavor that I liked. The chef seemed like a skilled artisan, and because it was still early, there were even families with small children, creating a lively atmosphere that didn't feel like a typical bar.

After sightseeing in Kyoto, we searched for highly rated craft beer near our hotel and visited this place. When we arrived around 8 o'clock, the counter table was full, so we sat at an available table. We were more focused on drinking than eating, but we found that the dishes, although not many, were elaborate and went well with the beer. The beer options were listed as S, M, and L, and we realized later that the difference in price between S and L was not significant, so it's better value to order the L size! I wish I had noticed that before ordering the S size. The tartar sauce for the fish & chips was good with the fish, but personally, I prefer ketchup. There were around 10 types of Japanese craft beer available, and even though I'm not a big beer drinker, I enjoy the fresh taste of craft beer. If you're looking for delicious beer around Karasuma Oike, I recommend this place.

July 18th is the anniversary of the founding of this restaurant, so we are celebrating. I have visited this place over 30 times from 2017 to 2020, and everything from the atmosphere, beer, and food is excellent. In addition, the service from the staff is also top-notch. Since moving to Tokyo, I have not been able to visit, but whenever I visit Kyoto, I always make sure to stop by. This is the best pub in Japan for me. I hope to find a place in Tokyo that surpasses it, but I doubt I will.

I visited the restaurant around 12:00 on a regular day without making a reservation for takeout. I ordered the Duck Meatball Tomato Stew Bento for 1200 yen. The rice was really delicious, with a nice aroma and perfect texture. However, I felt that the portion was a bit small. The duck meatballs were delicious as expected, and I particularly enjoyed the fried eggplant. The pickled radish went really well with the duck meatballs, and the carrots and purple onions were also tasty. The Rosemary Stir-Fry with bell peppers and zucchinis had a strong rosemary flavor that paired well with the duck meatballs. Overall, it was a tasty bento. Since I don't drink beer and probably won't dine in, I would like to order this bento again for takeout.

Located near Karasuma Oike Station, this place was bustling on a Friday night. The interior has a few counter seats and table seats. They offer around 10 types of beer, some of which may be sold out later in the evening. The glass sizes available are S, M, and L, each with a set price for straightforward billing. I decided to try a Kyoto beer, the Kyoto Brewery's "Haru no Kimagure American Pale Ale" in size M for 1,000 yen including tax. It was easy to drink and delicious. Since I was having a meal, I didn't order any snacks, and there doesn't seem to be any service charge or table charge. You only pay for the beer you drink, which is great. After enjoying my drink slowly, I settled the bill. It was nice to be able to enjoy craft beer in a relaxed atmosphere.

The second stop of the bar hopping in Karasuma Oike was a craft beer specialty shop. We were lucky to be able to enter without a reservation. The stylish interior had a relaxed counter seat area and a few high tables, with a focus on Belgian beer servers. The menu featured craft beers from various regions in Japan, along with unique and appealing dishes. There were also various other types of alcohol available. Each of us chose our preferred craft beer and size to order. I decided to try the "Ooyama G (medium size)" from my husband's hometown of Tottori. We shared and tasted each other's beers, each offering a different and unique flavor, making us realize the vast world of beer. Since we were already somewhat full, we ordered the light "grilled edamame". As we are fans of lamb meat, we also tried the "deep-fried lamb leg meat with herbs". The aroma of herbs was irresistible, and the tender, juicy lamb dish was delightful. The food menu at this place was well-rounded and satisfying, making it enjoyable even after the first stop. The guy with high uric acid levels couldn't resist and ended up going for craft beer! The master's witty talk was great too! The craft beers we had today were Golden Ale, Silver Orca Platinum Ale, Porter, Mariko Special IPA (and as a bonus, a little extra at the end!) As expected, us old guys love hoppy IPAs! Tonight, the chef was off so we ended up just having beer? (Of course, you can eat at the restaurant too!) Just an excuse for us drinkers! (laughs) Thank you for the meal!!!

I heard there was a craft beer bar in Karasuma Oike, so I went there right away! I found a stylish Western-style stand bar on the east side of Oike Street from Karasuma Street! Oh! There's a big board with recommended craft beers and beer taps, nice♪ There were a lot of white foreigners as customers, making it feel like a pub in London! I started with the Imperial Stout! Rich and bitter taste that goes well with the night! I ordered the Salsiccia (with pork offal) as a side dish! It was hot and juicy, with a nice firm texture! It goes well with the beer~! Maybe I did it in the wrong order? (laughs) For the second drink, I had the Haru Arashi IPA, which had a high fragrance and was refreshing! And then, a "Konnichiwa" from the pop! The Salsiccia and this beer also go well together! I'm happy with the delicious beer and side dishes! They mainly have craft beers from western Japan (including Kyoto). I'd like to visit again as they open from 4 pm, so it's a good place for a pre-dinner drink or to enjoy delicious side dishes and craft beer! By the way, the glass size this time was medium. Thank you for the meal!!!

"TAKUMIYA" is a craft beer specialty store located near Karasuma Oike. It offers a variety of local beers from all over Japan. The restaurant also serves dishes that pair well with beer. As night falls, it becomes a popular beer pub frequented by solo customers, couples, and foreigners.

"Half-cooked "Beautiful Egg" x Avocado x Prosciutto
Just as the name suggests, the egg is beautiful. It's rich and creamy. The texture of the baguette, along with the avocado and prosciutto, all go together perfectly. The Fish & Chips with cod and seaweed is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just like freshly fried. The tartar sauce is also amazing. It has a slightly Japanese touch to it. The abundance of tartar sauce is delightful."

The interior doesn't look like a typical bar, and when I entered, there were only foreigners. There were 10 types of beer on tap at the counter, mostly from the West. I came for dinner, so I ordered pasta and pickles. The pasta with sardines was delicious. It's a bit too much for one person, but I'd like to try other dishes too. It's a good place to stop by alone.

There are many domestic craft beers available, which is irresistible for craft beer lovers. The food also pairs well with the beer, offering a variety from hearty to light options, making it a great choice for a first stop. The staff is friendly and the interior is clean, attracting many female customers as well.

It had been a while since I last visited, and they were having an Okinawa Night event. It was my first time trying Helios straight from the barrel (^^) I also enjoyed some Awamori!

Marutamachi Station's Takumiya, the sister store of Takano Mugi Shuzoten, was quite good, so I decided to visit here. While Takano Mugi Shuzoten focuses on craft beers from overseas, Takumiya focuses on Japanese craft beers. Takano Mugi Shuzoten was a bit pricey, so I thought the domestic beers here would be cheaper and visited for some reconnaissance. Indeed, the prices were lower here. However, compared to regular beer gardens, the prices were still on the higher side. Also, hmmm, the IPA was delicious, but I wasn't impressed with the other options. Overall, I felt that overseas craft beers are generally tastier. In conclusion, I found Takano Mugi Shuzoten to be more appealing.
