I had to work on my day off, and although it was nerve-wracking, everything went smoothly. Since I couldn't eat a proper lunch, I decided to have a light meal and a beer after work at a restaurant I had been eyeing on Tabelog. I was seated at the counter and ordered a beer and the evening special set meal. The beer arrived first, poured into the glass with care. I took a sip and couldn't believe how delicious it was after a hot day at work. I couldn't stop myself from drinking half of it in one go. When the set meal arrived, it included rice, miso soup, pickles, sashimi, and 9 side dishes. The sashimi looked elegant and appetizing, with shrimp, scallop, squid, and tuna. The side dishes included lotus root and celery stir-fry, komatsuna and fried tofu simmered dish, hijiki seaweed, stewed eggplant, pumpkin with salted butter, red fish in vinegar sauce, tender chicken breast simmered, and crab stick and green onion omelette. Along with rice, it totaled to 13 items. Looking at the sashimi and side dishes, I felt like having sake. I finished the beer, ordered sake, and was surprised when more than 10 bottles of sake were brought to me. I forgot to take a picture of it. I ordered a junmai ginjo sake, but I forgot the brand. However, when I tasted it, I felt a soft acidity, a pleasant sweetness, and a refreshing aroma. It was a good sake. The sashimi, especially the perfectly cooked shrimp, was sweet and delicious. The scallop, squid, and tuna were also very tasty. Ordering sake was a great decision. The side dishes were all delicately flavored to bring out the natural taste of the ingredients. The lotus root and celery stir-fry had a pleasant blend of celery flavor and lotus root texture, while the stewed eggplant had just the right amount of dashi soaked into it, making it delicious. The pumpkin with salted butter had a nice balance of pumpkin's sweetness and the savory salted butter, making me crave for beer. The crab stick and green onion omelette paired well with rice. The miso soup had a rich dashi flavor, making it a perfect accompaniment to the meal. The side dishes were all delicious, and I was amazed by the variety of sake available. The menu also offered other set meals like fried chicken, ginger pork, tonkatsu, and grilled fish, catering to different preferences. With such a wide selection, I believe one can enjoy a meal and drinks here in a fun and enjoyable way. I definitely want to visit this place again.
