The appetizer assortment, Spaghettini with corn sauce, Tagliatelle with lamb and porcini ragout, Chicken Cacciatore steak with truffle, Tiramisu, Semifreddo, Homemade gelato. This restaurant is definitely good with meat dishes. The appetizers were also meat-heavy. The second course with meat was especially well-done! Very tender and juicy. The gelato had a bittersweet caramel flavor, very delicious. Coffee or other drinks were included after the meal, making it a satisfying full course. The service was slow-paced, making it feel like Italian time was flowing. It seems to be popular as they were turning people away, so reservations are probably necessary. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This is my first visit. It's a great place for adults to enjoy delicious Italian food and drinks. The menu is à la carte style, so you can choose your favorite dishes. The portions are usually for two people, but they also offer half portions for individuals, which is convenient. I'm grateful for discovering this delicious Italian restaurant that I want to visit again.

Located in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, this area is filled with various dining options such as Trattoria Leone, Patisserie S, and cafes, making it a fun place to explore. A small restaurant with only 4 table seats, it provides attentive service that makes you feel comfortable. Their homemade ginger ale for 600 yen has a strong ginger flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. The lunch course for 3500 yen includes a soup with plenty of vegetables and black cabbage powder, a flavorful appetizer of pork sausage with green olive sauce, pasta with squid, cauliflower, and water celery, homemade focaccia, roast chicken with fuki-no-to confit, treviso, black garlic sauce, and candied citrus peel, a tiramisu-like dessert with Amazon cacao chiffon and mascarpone, and a selection of mini desserts including caramel, canele, cinnamon meringue, and coffee. The dinner course offers a wider variety of dishes compared to lunch.

During the self-restraint period, they did not offer alcohol, but they had a wide variety of non-alcoholic options, and their homemade ginger ale was incredibly delicious. I ordered the appetizer platter, corn and asatsuki pasta, duck breast and kujo negi al roast, domestic beef bisteca, tiramisu, yogurt panna cotta with seasonal fruits. The chicken ham in the appetizer platter was perfectly cooked and very tasty, even for someone like me who doesn't usually eat beans. The corn and asatsuki pasta had a perfect balance of sweetness from the corn and saltiness from the noodles, very delicious! The domestic beef bisteca with truffle was like roast beef, but actually it's Italian for "beef steak." The sauce and the meat's cooking were excellent, and the potatoes on the side were incredibly tasty! The duck breast and kujo negi al roast had rare and juicy duck meat that melted in my mouth. The yogurt panna cotta had a strong yogurt flavor, which was interesting but tasty. The tiramisu was authentic and delicious. Overall, I would love to come back for lunch just to have pasta and tiramisu! The only downside was that the knife provided during the main course was a bit difficult to cut with. Nevertheless, I would love to come back when they serve alcohol after the self-restraint period, as the portions were a bit large and I would like to enjoy a meal with friends while having a good time.

#Kyoto "Cenetta Barba" / Shijo - This time, Nakamaro visited the famous Italian restaurant Cenetta Barba. The owner of Cenetta Barba has trained in Rome and the restaurant has even won the Michelin Bib Gourmand award, showing its popularity. The seating options include counter and table, with a stylish and calm atmosphere, making it a great choice for a date. The "Roman-style Carbonara" is a must-try dish, priced at 1650 yen. In Rome, Carbonara is one of the three major pastas and does not use cream. The taste is rich and delicious, with a liquid consistency but a strong pecorino flavor. The balance of guanciale and pancetta adds a perfect accent, making it a dish you could eat forever. Overall, it's a great restaurant. "Chenetta Barba" / Shijo - This time, Nakamaro visited the famous Italian restaurant, Chenetta Barba. Chenetta Barba is a popular restaurant that has received a Michelin Bib Gourmand award, serving seasonal dishes during the day at the restaurant and Roman cuisine at night at the trattoria. The restaurant offers seating at the counter and tables in a stylish and calm atmosphere, making it a great spot for a date. One of their popular dishes is the "Bucatini Cacio e Pepe" for 1540 yen, which is one of the three major pasta dishes in Rome. Cacio means cheese and pepe means pepper in Italian. The dish is delicious, with a perfect balance of peppery aroma, cheesy richness, and the savory flavor of oil. The bucatini pasta has a soft texture that allows you to fully enjoy the taste of wheat. I really love this restaurant. "Chenetta Barba"/Shijo - This time, Nakamaro visited the famous Italian restaurant Chenetta Barba. Chenetta Barba is a popular restaurant that has received the Michelin Bib Gourmand award, serving seasonal dishes during the day as a Ristorante and Roman cuisine at night as a Trattoria. The restaurant offers both counter and table seating in a stylish and relaxed atmosphere, making it a great choice for a date. The Amatriciana pasta, priced at 1500 yen, is a must-try dish made with guanciale (pork cheek), pecorino cheese, and tomatoes, originating from the town of Amatrice. The pasta is cooked al dente and the flavors are delicious, with the saltiness and richness of the guanciale complementing the acidity and depth of the tomatoes. The restaurant is located at 642 Nio Tenjin-cho, Higashinotoin-dori, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, and can be reached at 075-708-3606 for reservations. Cenetta Barba is a small Italian restaurant located just east of Karasuma-Kawaramachi. It is a regular recipient of the Michelin Bib Gourmand. On this day, only 4 tables were in use. The lunch set consists of 1 course for 3500 yen, including soup, appetizer, pasta, main dish, dessert, and a drink. The menu for June included potato soup, pan-fried sea bream, zucchini and tomato pasta, bread (focaccia), pork wine stew, charcoal-grilled Kamo eggplant, citrus gelato, caramelized pineapple, and crepe. Despite being a short course with only 5 items, the portions were generous and satisfying. The dishes are not flashy but combine classical elements with creativity. The low-temperature-cooked sea bream was delicious. I would like to visit again for wine pairing in the evening. Recommended for a slightly upscale Italian dining experience in the Karasuma area. The service from the female staff was polite and pleasant.

I have a memory of how delicious the lamb scottadito was 3-4 years ago, but when I visited the restaurant recently without a reservation, it was full and I was turned away. Since then, I haven't been back. This time, I made a lunch reservation and visited. The dishes had a delicate image overall, and interesting ingredients were used. The cost performance is excellent. I tried 3-4 different wines, and I thought, "Were they this cheap last time I had them?" I am also curious about the dinner menu, but for now, takeout is also available, so that might be a good option. Thank you for the meal.

Located in Kyoto, on the east side of Karasuma Kitaoji, this restaurant offers a lunch course menu for 3500 yen plus tax, and a casual dinner menu featuring Roman regional dishes. The restaurant has been awarded the Bib Gourmand for four consecutive years for its authentic Italian cuisine. I first visited this restaurant shortly after it opened in August 2015 and was impressed by the lunch menu. Despite not visiting for a while, I was surprised when the owner, Chef Fujita, recognized me near Kawaramachi last December and invited me to visit again. I finally went in early January of the new Reiwa era and enjoyed dishes such as "Mochi Pork Rillettes," "Roman-style Carbonara," and "Mochi Pork Porchetta," which is a traditional Roman rolled pork belly dish. The flavors were rich and satisfying, and the conversation with Chef Fujita and the female staff was pleasant. I also enjoyed wines such as "Valli Brut" and "Bergera Serena" to complement the meal. The restaurant has a main dining area with tables and a counter facing the kitchen with about six seats. Chef Fujita not only excels in cooking but also has great conversational skills and connections with other chefs in the industry, including the up-and-coming chef from "TAKAYAMA." The service from the female staff was excellent, and the restaurant was almost full during my visit in early 2020. While some dishes may seem slightly lacking in terms of ingredient quality, the overall experience of enjoying delicious and well-prepared dishes at reasonable prices makes this restaurant a gem worth revisiting. You can enjoy a single dish with a glass of wine for dinner, or opt for the thoughtfully crafted lunch course menu.

Visited for the first time with a friend or reservation. The appetizers were all delicious and paired well with the wine. The pasta was also delicious, and we finished with a satisfying dessert. The staff was very friendly, and the quality was so high that it wouldn't be surprising if they had a Michelin star. Everything was delicious, and we enjoyed a variety of Italian wines. I would love to go back again. I've also been to the neighboring restaurant before! Both are wonderful.

Today, I went to "Cenetta Barba" in Karasuma-Kojiji. It's a cozy little spot just a 3-4 minute walk from Shijo Station. I tried their lunch set for 2800 yen. Here's what I had:
- Tomato, Ricotta, Basil Soup
- Summer Vegetables, Citrus, Prosciutto Antipasto
- Corn, Cucumber, Bottarga Pasta
- Veal, Golden Beet, Amazon Cocoa
- Peach, Vanilla Dessert
I started with a glass of champagne. The tomato soup with basil and ricotta was delicious. The antipasto with summer vegetables and prosciutto was a bit tricky to eat but tasty. The pasta with corn, cucumber, and bottarga had a nice summer touch. The veal cheek stew with Amazon cocoa was a unique combination. For dessert, I had peach white wine compote with vanilla ice cream, which was refreshing. Overall, it's a great Italian restaurant that uses plenty of local vegetables in their Roman-style dishes.

I had been recommended by gourmet friends for a while. Finally, I visited this restaurant which offers a very reasonable course menu focused on Roman cuisine for 2800 yen plus tax. I tried the homemade ginger ale for 600 yen, which had a mild spiciness and carbonation that didn't overpower the food. The first course was a cold soup made with Kamo eggplant, frozen foie gras terrine slices, and breadcrumbs with Kamo eggplant skin mixed in. The slight bitterness of the eggplant and the melt-in-your-mouth foie gras slices were delicious, although the foie gras could have been a bit warmer. The appetizer was seared conger eel with Gold Rush grains and cream, marinated in sweetfish sauce. When eaten with cucumber, it was a bit salty, but when combined with the sweetness of the Gold Rush grains and cucumber, it created a harmonious and delicious flavor. The pasta dish was made with fruit tomatoes and zucchini in oil, basil, and shiso sauce, with a rich tomato flavor. The main dish was a beef cutlet with arugula and Hinata powder, but the beef lacked depth of flavor and the breading was slightly peeling off. For dessert, there was yogurt panna cotta with brandy-soaked American cherries and Amazon cacao crumble, which was excellent, especially the crunchy texture of the cacao crumble. The meal ended with coffee, tea, and espresso, as well as chocolate ice cream. I was impressed by the ambition of offering such high-quality dishes at this location and price point. Although the beef dish was not perfect, I believe that if it had been a different type of meat, the overall rating would have been higher.

The restaurant had a "fully booked" sign in front today, so we made a reservation. We started with a toast with beer. I couldn't decide what to order, but ended up getting the country-style pate, ham, and strawberry foam. The pasta and pork on the menu were both delicious and filling! The portions were large, so it might be best to order a variety of dishes for a group of about four people. Since there were only two of us, we couldn't order much, but there were other menu items that caught our eye, so I would like to go back again.

Returned from Italy on Sunday. For some reason, brought wine and visited an Italian restaurant in Kyoto. Shared antipasto with Parma ham, strawberries (not melon), and two other dishes with four people. The strawberries and ham were fresh and impressive. Felt the Japanese hospitality. For Primo, of course, chose carbonara at a Roman restaurant. The thin pasta seemed to be tailored for Japanese taste, which was also good. For the second course, ordered the Bistecca. Couldn't chew it like in Italy (laughs). Finally, had the classic tiramisu and a double espresso. The espresso was as strong as in Italy. Maybe should have ordered lungo. Thank you for the meal. Truly worthy of the Bib Gourmand.

I went with a friend to celebrate our birthdays together at this restaurant. We were seated at a table by the window, and the ambience inside and outside was lovely, resembling a restaurant from overseas. It was selected as a Michelin Bib Gourmand, so I had high expectations, but as someone trying Roman cuisine for the first time, I found that the meat had a strong taste that didn't suit my palate. We ordered items like roasted lamb, hand-cut tagliatelle with lamb and porcini ragu sauce, a chef's selection of charcuterie, a bottle of white wine, and a birthday plate. The dishes paired well with the white wine initially, but after a few bites, both of us found it hard to finish. The lamb and porcini ragu sauce was delicious though! The birthday plate was a nice surprise as they combined both of our requests even though we had asked separately. However, the staff's insistence on responding only in Japanese, despite the presence of many foreign customers, made communication frustrating. Considering the restaurant's reputation and the diverse clientele, I believe they should make more effort in terms of language support.

I saw the blog and decided to make a reservation! The first impression wasn't great, the service felt a bit off... Maybe they were just having a bad day? The menu was hard to picture with just words, and I wasn't very familiar with the wines so I was unsure. I felt a bit flustered once inside, not sure what to order or what to eat. But in the end, the wine was delicious and my friend who came with me was happy, so it turned out to be a good experience!

Quite good. The atmosphere is nice, and the flavors overall are good. The main dish of wild boar stood out. The meat was tender and slightly sweet. The sauce and cabbage complemented it well. The soup and dessert were also very delicious.
