For lunch, I visited Otoko-Mae Shokudo. I ordered the dipping udon and mini Tekka-don set! It was my first time trying dipping udon, and it was light and the seemingly large amount of noodles was gone in no time. Thank you for the meal.

I visited without a reservation and was seated in the smoking section. Even though there were empty seats, I was squeezed in at a table. As a result, the table quickly filled up and I felt pressured to eat right away. It was a bit uncomfortable.

I am "Noronori", who mainly goes around eating lunch in Sakai. After having a sushi course, I used this place for a second party. I was curious about the "Nasu Gyoza" written on the menu, so I ordered it. It was really good~ Instead of gyoza skin, it is wrapped in eggplant, fried, and topped with a sweet sauce. Delicious! Also, the cold udon with hot miso sauce was so tasty~ Thanks to that, the conversation flowed and it was a fun night. Thank you for the meal.

I ended up at this restaurant near Kyoto Station because other places were full. This place also got busy after we arrived, so they didn't seat any more customers. It might be a good idea to make a reservation for a drinking spot near Kyoto Station. We had a sashimi platter (actually 8 pieces), beef tongue croquette, tempura rapeseed flowers, dried fish and green onion with tomato, and grilled fish. We also had beer, highball, plum wine, etc. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and the beef tongue croquette was good too. However, the tempura rapeseed flowers were average, and the dried fish and green onion with tomato was too salty due to the strong dressing and salty dried fish. The grilled fish was also average. The beer wasn't great, maybe due to insufficient glass washing or server cleaning. It's been a while since I had such poorly poured beer with too much foam.

I wanted to have lunch at Kyoto Station's underground Porta, but it was too crowded so I gave up and came to this area where it's a bit better. Although it's an izakaya, they were serving lunch so I decided to try it. The lunch menu was limited, and I ordered the Tekka-don for ¥750, which had about 5 thin slices of tuna and an egg yolk. The tuna was thin and full of sinew, making it hard to eat, and there was no miso soup or pickles included for this price, which was disappointing. There were only two customers, including us, and yet there were an abnormal number of staff members who wouldn't bring water unless we asked. The atmosphere wasn't very pleasant. Thank you for the meal.

I found a restaurant in a back alley near Kyoto Station! The signboard had many attractive names written on it, so when I stopped, they called out to me and showed me the menu. They asked if I preferred smoking or non-smoking before seating me. I don't like cigarette smoke, so I was grateful that there was no smoke at all. The menu was available through a QR code order, and there were many other tempting dishes, but I ordered a lot for today... I was trying to resist the urge, but I ended up ordering some alcohol (*´∇`*) I enjoyed a pleasant time with a slightly tipsy feeling, with sake and delicious side dishes. I would like to visit again~

I visited the restaurant with a colleague on a business trip. I have been there a few times and always start with a giant lemon sour, which is great value for money! This time, I tried the eggplant dumplings that I had been curious about. They were delicious with minced meat inside, and it's no wonder they are popular! I ended up ordering them twice. The first serving was hot, but the second one was lukewarm... which was disappointing. Also, it's a shame that PayPay is not accepted here.

It was quite crowded starting from 18:30. The sashimi, fried dishes, and everything else were delicious. In particular, the "ruibe" was a rare delicacy. However, I remember seeing that PayPay was accepted, but it was not usable here! I hope they start accepting PayPay in the future.

I visited the second restaurant. There are few places open late around Kyoto Station, so it's very convenient! The recommended eggplant gyoza was delicious. The dashimaki tamago was soft and fluffy. They have a wide variety of sake, with standard options priced at 480 yen per glass. The first drink is free with an Instagram follow and post, but sake is excluded. The staff are good at recommending dishes and everything was delicious.

We visited with three people. The large lemon shochu highball, equivalent to 5-6 drinks, was less than 1000 yen, making it a great deal! The sashimi was delicious, and it had been a while since I had lobster. The staff were also very kind. We will definitely visit again.

While wandering around Kyoto Station, I stumbled upon a great little izakaya where you can enjoy Inaniwa udon and a mini seafood bowl set for lunch. I ordered the medium-sized Inaniwa udon and the mini bara chirashi, and they arrived in about 10 minutes. Despite being a mini size, the dishes were quite generous, so I was relieved. The udon came with warm sesame sauce with green onions and mushrooms, while the bara chirashi featured seafood cuts topped with a raw egg yolk. The cost performance was quite good. I'll definitely have to revisit this place as they offer rare Japanese sake like Echigo Jyuhachiya. Unfortunately, I couldn't drink this time as I had plans to drive afterwards, but next time, I'll visit in the evening!

I visited this restaurant during my trip to Kyoto. I arrived late and was looking for a place that was still open, and that's how I found this place. The bite-sized salmon roe rice bowl was delicious, but honestly, I found it to be a bit pricey. They specialize in seafood, but they also offer many Kyoto-style dishes, so I think tourists can enjoy their meal here.

If you're looking for a place with great sashimi at a reasonable price, Sake to Sakana to Otoko-mae Shokudo is the place to go. The sashimi platter for two is a generous portion with fresh, thick slices that are so satisfying. The variety and quality of the fish are top-notch. This restaurant also offers a variety of other delicious izakaya dishes. Located near Kyoto Station, it's a popular spot so it can get crowded. Highly recommended!

The menu offers delicious red plum wine ◎. The white fish in Yanagawa is a bit fishy △, but the drooling chicken is great ◎ with a rich sweet and savory garlic sauce. The eggplant dumplings are ⦿, and the black soy sauce simmered fish is excellent ◎! The texture, seasoning, and balance of sweet and savory are perfect. The Inaniwa dipping noodles are a bit of a miss △ as the chicken and bonito broth can be too heavy unless you're really hungry. Eating the noodles with just the broth is delicious. The restaurant was almost full even on a late Monday night, so it can be tough unless you're used to it. The chairs at the table seats are somewhat soft, and the seating arrangement is continuous along the sides.

There are always new shops popping up around Kyoto Station, and this one seems relatively new as well. It's a little hidden in an alley, but I happened to stumble upon it and decided to make a quick stop. As the name suggests, this place specializes in fresh fish and various types of Japanese sake. I sat at the counter and started with a draft beer (490 yen). The recommended dish was a sashimi assortment, but being alone and mindful of my stomach, I opted for the "mackerel shime" (590 yen) and the "deep-fried sandfish" (630 yen). Looking at the photos, you can see that the price of the sandfish is somewhat acceptable, but the mackerel for 590 yen was just too much for the portion and taste. It was a bit disappointing. Watching the kitchen, it seemed like the sashimi assortment was just pre-cut and arranged, without much attention to detail. Personally, it was a slightly disappointing experience.

"Otoko-mae Shokudo in Kyoto's Shimokyo Ward is a great spot for a quick drink near Kyoto Station. The Otoko-mae sashimi platter is a specialty priced at 950 yen, which is quite reasonable. However, the menu and the actual luxury of the dish may not match up. The maguro katsu priced at 590 yen was surprisingly delicious - very rare! The matsunotsukasa was also tasty! #KyotoStation #Sake #Seafood #Fish #Sashimi #Kyoto #OtokoMaeShokudo"

Menzen Tofu Shop - Cold tofu 390 yen, hot sake 390 yen x2 (excluding tax) [Total] 1,260 yen. If it were Kyobashi, it would have cost around 750 yen. Most dishes are priced at 590 yen, 630 yen, 690 yen... Tofu is 390 yen, just this much. Limited selection of sake. Well, I've paid enough in tuition fees before, so I don't really mind. I won't be visiting again.

The bright and shiny interior of the restaurant has a counter and table seats, which are surprisingly spacious. Unlike many other places in Kyoto Station, this restaurant closes at midnight, making it a good option for late-night dining. We ordered a sashimi platter, crab miso croquettes, and boiled octopus innards. The sashimi platter was beautifully presented in a tall dish, with thick slices of fish that were satisfying to eat. The crab miso croquettes had crab miso sauce drizzled over them, adding an interesting flavor. Trying the boiled octopus innards was a new experience for us, and it turned out to be surprisingly delicious without any off-putting taste. While the restaurant specializes in fish dishes, they also offer meat, noodles, and Kyoto-style cuisine. The food was decent overall, though nothing particularly outstanding. It seems like the restaurant is still new as the staff's service could be improved, but I believe they will make progress in that area soon.

I rate this place as 4.0 [Food 4.0 | Service 4.0 | Atmosphere 4.0 | Value for money 4.0 | Drinks -]. In Kyoto, there are streets with strange names, but one of the most difficult ones is "Fumeimondori," which is pronounced as "akezudori." It is located between Higashinoto-in and Karasuma. I had lunch here today as I was nearby for work. This place specializes in fish, so I ordered the "Inaniwa tsuke udon and Tekkadon set" for 1000 yen. The Inaniwa tsuke udon had a rich sauce with green onions and mushrooms, which was quite delicious. The udon came with hot water to adjust the flavor, but I preferred it without. The Tekkadon was topped with egg yolk, soy sauce, and wasabi, and it was also very good. It would have been perfect if there was another small side dish, but for 1000 yen near the station, I have no complaints. The restaurant was quite busy, and the staff were young and energetic. Thank you for the meal.

The fish here is very fresh and delicious! I came here for a party before and the fish was so good that I came back again. The assorted sashimi platter is a great value for money and the freshness of the fish is outstanding. I also ordered a few other items, but I didn't feel like they were as good value for money as the fish. Maybe I'm just used to the reasonable prices at standing bars, but I felt like the "addictive cucumber" dish was in the 400 yen range, which seemed a bit high for the small portion. I thought it would be more reasonable in the 300 yen range. The chu-hai was delicious, but still a bit pricey... I wish the small plates were a bit cheaper. The restaurant is clean and the service is polite, so it's a bit disappointing that the value for money is not as good. It might be a better deal if you use it for a party. Maybe they offer all-you-can-drink options. I have various reviews of bar hopping experiences on my blog: https://kyotochuhai-lab.site/
