After enjoying the beef croquette at Ushinagara, I decided to peek into the neighboring Coco without any prior information. As expected, they also offered croquettes, despite being a butcher shop. The croquette is available twice a day during specific hours: 11:00-14:00 and 16:00-18:30. The Kameoka beef croquette costs ¥110 and stands out for its crispy bread crumbs and the delicious texture of the beef inside. Unlike convenience store fried foods, the croquette from a butcher shop like this one is truly tasty. Although I would love to buy some meat from here if it were closer, it's a bit far for me. They also have an online shop, so I might check that out.

If you want to buy Kameoka beef, this is the place to go. The meat for curry is absolutely delicious! Also, the croquettes and minced cutlets are amazing when freshly fried! Even if the smell fills your car, no problem!

On the way from Umihori Station to Torokko Kameoka, we stopped by a specialty store for Kameoka beef. Next to it is the directly managed restaurant "Gyuraku." There is also a snack village called "Tent Village" open next to Umihori Station. I found out from a blog that there are croquettes available around the station. When we arrived at the store, it was exactly 11:00, and it said "Fried food available from 11:00." We asked the owner, and he took out the batter from the refrigerator and put it in the oil! Even my companion, who initially didn't feel like eating, changed their mind when they found out that they could eat freshly fried croquettes. The croquettes were individually bagged, and we started eating them right away. The sweet potato had a hint of beef flavor, and it was delicious even without sauce. If only I had also bought the "Menchi Katsu"... Another item we purchased was the "Kameoka Beef Drops," which were steak-flavored candies. We tried them later with everyone, and although they do have a steak flavor, it felt like they were trying too hard to be authentic... You can also buy them at the Torokko souvenir shop, so be sure to try them out! (*^▽^*)

The daughter and her husband went back home for New Year's, so I spent New Year's in Nemuro. I wanted to see the earliest sunrise in Japan at Nosappu Misaki, but oh well~ In a review from a few years ago, they posted a photo of that. Even though the daughter doesn't eat pork or chicken, she eats beef and deer meat. I wonder why~ The Kameoka beef is really delicious. There's a slaughterhouse near the restaurant, so the tongue is also very tasty. Since it was New Year's, I got a thick-cut steak from a cow that participated in a steak tasting competition. I also bought some minced cutlets for dinner and fried them at home since I got back late. It was a simple dinner. The three of us had the steak for New Year's. Even though it was tenderloin with a lot of marbling, it was delicious. But the daughter prefers lean meat, so she found it a bit too rich. The son-in-law was happy and enjoyed eating it. Red wine is a must with meat. Since the other two hardly drink, I might have drunk half of it alone. It was a fun dinner.

I went shopping in Kameoka and got sleepy on the way back. Just one more push! I have to cross a dam lake and drive through the mountains to get home. I was feeling tired, but buying croquettes was a good idea. The croquettes here have Kameoka beef mince in them and they are really delicious. There are no vegetables or anything, so I made some brown mushroom soup, drank some wine, quickly ate, and now I'm going to bed.

I drove to Ayabe in search of Makomotake mushrooms! Since I was in Ayabe, I decided to buy some meat as well. I usually visit this shop for croquettes, but this time I wanted to buy meat for dinner. My daughter and her husband were coming back to visit the family grave for the equinoctial week, so I planned to make tomato sukiyaki for dinner with a Pinot Noir wine from Morocco as a side. I bought premium sukiyaki meat for 864 yen for 300g. I also bought some pork. After visiting the grave, we each stood at a power spot for 15 minutes. I don't believe in such things, but the view of Mt. Hiei was beautiful and the cool breeze was refreshing. It reminded me of a similar day eight years ago. When we got back, I hurried to prepare dinner. I usually eat alone while standing and making it, but this time I decided to make an effort. I started with tempura made from fresh fish from Ine and vegetables from the garden, followed by tomato sukiyaki. I have been hooked on it lately - just put onions, a lot of tomatoes, and beef in a Staub pot, cover it, and simmer for 15 minutes. It's more like a Japanese-style stew than tomato sukiyaki. I don't use store-bought sukiyaki sauce - I look up recipes on sites like Cookpad. I prefer to keep it simple with just one onion and four large tomatoes. I like to add udon noodles at the end, but my son-in-law and daughter prefer not to. We always argue about it. My husband and daughter say they don't want to get too full, but end up asking for some udon noodles in the end. We reminisced about Morocco, Marrakech, and the red wine at the Aman Hotel - a perfect combination. We enjoyed the delicious meal together, exclaiming how tasty it was. The meat at this shop is Ayabe beef, known for its freshness and deliciousness. I found out about this shop from a food blogger who visited from far away. Thank you!

Making dinner can be a hassle sometimes, but having minced meat cutlets and croquettes from the butcher shop is so convenient! Sometimes I also buy marinated meat for yakiniku. I sauté some onions, make beet marinated salad, corn, and use leftover rice. Then I enjoy it with a beer. It's a simple dinner ready in no time. I also bring croquettes as a gift for my friends. The next day, I have croquettes, minced meat cutlets, beet soup, and wine or beer. Easy and delicious dinner, two nights in a row! The marinated meat for yakiniku is quite flavorful, so buying meat and seasoning it to your liking might be better. The minced meat cutlets made with Kameoka beef are delicious and can be frozen, so you can microwave them and make a sandwich. They are so tasty and convenient! This time I bought fried ones, but frying fresh croquettes at home in white sesame oil is lighter and tastier.

I purchased it on a weekday afternoon in April 2022. I was planning to eat at the neighboring shop, but to my surprise, it was closed. Today is not their regular holiday. So, I had no choice but to buy from this place. The meat here is originally good. They fry it after you order, which is nice. I had two croquettes (130 yen each) because there were no other side dishes available, and I enjoyed them at a nearby park. The cherry blossoms were still blooming, and it was nice to eat outside. The freshly fried croquettes were delicious. After me, a high school student arrived. It seems like a shop that is loved by the locals.

I wasn't planning on buying meat, but since I was already nearby, I decided to buy something. When I entered the shop, there it was - beef tongue! I remembered reading a fascinating story about beef tongue in a book by Nakajima Ramo, so I decided to grill it. The beef offal here is always fresh and delicious. I also bought croquettes and minced cutlets. The beef tongue was grilled quickly, and the new onions were sautéed with yuzu miso and placed underneath it. Of course, I enjoyed it with a glass of red wine. It was so delicious! I also tried the minced cutlet, and it was so flavorful compared to the ones sold in department stores. For the next lunch, I had a leftover lunch, which was delicious, cheap, and easy. I also used the pork I bought to make yakisoba, which turned out to be tasty. While Taiyasu's Kameoka beef is delicious, this place is just as good. They sometimes sell tail meat, so I might try making tail soup or stew next time.

Usually, I focus on buying croquettes, but this day I only bought meat. The croquettes are in the freezer, so I decided to get some meat for yakiniku and sliced pork instead. This shop is close to the Kameoka beef processing plant, so the hormone meat is very fresh. For dinner, I quickly cooked the yakiniku meat and upper small intestines in a frying pan, and stir-fried bean sprouts in the meat juices. The yakiniku meat had a great flavor, and the small intestines had a nice chewy texture. Even though the kitchen floor and microwave got oily, it was worth it for the delicious meal. I divided the leftovers into small portions and put them in the freezer for convenience. Vegetables are tasty, but meat is always the best!

I bought some cake and vegetables, then smoothly ran through the back streets to reach the Habara station. I'm thinking of trying the Mont Blanc from Patisserie Perle next time around here. I need to eat it within 30 minutes after buying it. While waiting for the croquettes to be fried, I decided to buy two croquettes made from Kameoka beef and one minced cutlet. I also couldn't resist buying some meat - pork belly for okonomiyaki and sliced Kameoka beef. Lastly, I saw the Kameoka beef tetchan, so I bought 100g. In total, I spent around 3000 yen on groceries. On my way back home, I stopped by the old lady's house to give her a gift. It's a shame we can't go shopping together in Kameoka due to the pandemic. When I got home, I microwaved the minced cutlet and then baked it in the toaster oven until crispy, drizzling Worcestershire sauce on top. It's delicious to pour sauce over the meat shop's croquettes and minced cutlets!

I wonder if they only reviewed photos? I just realized now. I rushed to Kameoka to buy a squeezed Mont Blanc. You have to eat Mont Blanc within 30 minutes, or it won't be in time. I hadn't eaten lunch, so I decided to buy croquettes. I ate croquettes and skewered cutlets by the side of the dam lake, then had onigiri, and finally Mont Blanc. Eating fried food and onigiri before Mont Blanc was good. I also bought minced cutlets and frozen Kameoka beef minced meat and sukiyaki meat. The minced meat is still in the freezer. I haven't been making hamburgers lately. I'll chop onions finely and stir-fry them with minced meat to save for omelets and meat gratin.

Crossing over mountains, crossing over valleys, crossing over dams *\(^o^)/* I run to Kameoka, it's more enjoyable than shopping in the city of Kyoto, with fewer people on the mountain roads, which is also nice! Lunch, shopping, various courses, a little away from the city center of Kameoka. In the past, I have ordered takeout from a nearby Italian restaurant called Laretta, and I have heard that the croquettes from the butcher shop are delicious! After having a vegetable-rich natural lunch for lunch, I decided to have an easy dinner with croquettes from the butcher shop. 4 croquettes for 110 yen each, 2 minced cutlets for 260 yen each, 2 bite-sized cutlets for 166 yen each, and 100 grams of Kameoka beef tongue for 972 yen. The croquettes are frozen if not eaten on the same day, then microwaved for about 30 seconds before being toasted in the oven, and served with the usual Worcestershire sauce. A Dewar's highball to accompany the crispy croquettes with Kameoka beef inside! The minced cutlets also have a great taste. I made a simple carrot salad and pickles, along with the croquettes. The next day, I had grilled beef tongue with salt, and it was delicious, especially the Kameoka beef tongue! I also added Kameoka beef minced meat to the carrot salad and hijiki side dishes. This day, I enjoyed some sake with the Kameoka beef. Kameoka beef is incredibly delicious, much more than the famous meat shops in Kyoto. I couldn't go to a day trip onsen this time because I bought so much, but I received an order to drink water and return home quickly from my friend in Osaka Tenma, as there was a warning for the return journey.
