A stylish Thai restaurant near Ichijoji Station on the Eizan Electric Railway. The owner, who runs the restaurant alone, is very likeable due to the hand-drawn business calendar, website, and attentive service. They actively participate in local events, making you want to support them. The Thai-style yakisoba with sauce was delicious.

"What? You ate this bread at this shop?" "Yeah. I actually wanted to get a baguette, but they were sold out at that time." "Oh? Did you eat things like this soup set or pho here?" "Yes. They were on the milder side for ethnic food, but both were pretty tasty." "And the bread?" "Well, it had toppings, so of course it was delicious for me." "But this finished product is totally like something from a bakery, right?... I wonder what kind of shop this is??"... Just a scene from the FC household, looking at the screen.

After a long time, I finished my errands in the streets of Kyoto and went shopping for dinner at a ramen shop. There was a natural food store on the ramen street, and they had delicious fish. They also had organic milk from Okhotsk and milk from Nemuro Co-op, which I always buy. I bought some detergent and other things and had 30 minutes left in the parking service. I went to a nearby book and select shop called Keibunsha, bought some magazines, and looked at various books. I got thirsty, so I went to a small bakery that my daughter used to live near when she was a college student. It turned out to be a Thai or Vietnamese restaurant that also sold bread. I ordered an iced chai and bought some bread, including a salt bread and pistachio anchovy bread. I exceeded the parking service by 100 yen. I remembered the time when my daughter moved four times while in college, and this area was her third move. I recalled when we bought thirty hot mini pork buns near the hotel after a trip to Shanghai and ate them at my daughter's apartment. The flight was only about three and a half hours, so it was okay to bring them on the plane. The buns had a strong smell, but they were delicious. The next day, I heated them up a bit and had them for breakfast. They were tasty with a hint of salt. For dessert, I had an overripe melon, which was also delicious. Time flies, but some things never change.

The bright sun of early summer was shining, so I decided to visit this place after a long time. It was bread day, so I bought some as a souvenir. It's made with homemade yeast, domestic wheat, Okinawan salt, and brown sugar, similar to Chipruson. For lunch, I had the green curry with plenty of summer vegetables like zucchini, bell pepper, baby corn, and new onions. The plate was also Thai pottery. I love green curry and often eat it, but this place is my favorite in the city! The rice and vegetable quality here is completely different. The tables here are small, perfect for kids. They also sell children's clothing and have a kids menu. Most of the customers when I visited were groups with kids. It's a recommended place for moms who love ethnic food. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I went to buy bread♪ They sell simple and delicious bread made with Hokkaido wheat and homemade yeast on certain days of the week. While they were preparing the bread for me, I found shaved ice and decided to have some in the store. There were two flavors, black sugar and hibiscus, but I chose hibiscus as I had never seen it elsewhere before. It tasted like hibiscus tea, with the syrup on the shaved ice being refreshing. It made me feel like I was at a cafe in a rural town in Thailand. The bread and rice are simple and delicious at AOW. They have started participating in events, but their actual store is still wonderful. I recommend stopping by on your way to or from Keibunsha.
For those who use Tabelog, there may be a restaurant that you have been wanting to visit but couldn't due to closure or other reasons. This place was like that for me. I finally went for a late lunch on a holiday. It's located east of Manshuin-do from Keibunsha, heading south at the first intersection, and it's on the corner of the first intersection. The interior of the shop has a dining hall vibe like in a rural town in Thailand. The chairs and tables are small, and they have been designed so that even children can sit and eat comfortably. There was also a children's menu available. They also sell cute miscellaneous goods. I ordered the Khao Man Gai. The other option was Pad Thai. It cost 900 yen including tax. I also ordered the coffee blend recommended by Mie Pompu. The jasmine rice topped with chicken was very refreshing. The soup was delicious with plenty of vegetables. It had a simple and good taste. When I searched later, I found out that the owner used to run a cafe in Pai, a town in Thailand. After giving birth, she returned to Japan and opened this place. Quite an impressive background. It seems she also sells bread at events, and she seemed busy baking bread when I visited. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal♪

A shop serving Asian cuisine and homemade sourdough bread located right near Ichijoji Station on the Eizan Electric Railway. I stumbled upon it on my way from Keibunsha to Tsubame. There are some small, stylish miscellaneous goods shops scattered around this area, making it a fun place to explore. The shop has a handmade, colorful, and slightly chaotic appearance, exuding an Asian atmosphere. I bought some bread to take out on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Around 1 pm, almost half of the bread that was posted on Facebook had already been sold. Here are the items I tried:
- Soy Milk Bagel (240 yen): Cranberries are kneaded in, giving it a firm and chewy texture. It didn't taste like soy milk, but it was delicious and would go well with butter or jam.
- Brioche with Rum Raisins and Orange (280 yen): Light and best enjoyed with a meal or with butter and jam. Since they use homemade sourdough, the bread may become slightly hard the next day. Before eating, you can moisten the bread with a spray bottle and then heat it in a toaster oven for a fluffy texture. Steaming it will also give it a chewy texture.
Opening hours: 11:30 am - 7:00 pm (or until sold out), closed on Wednesdays and the 3rd Sunday.

After visiting Kibune, I returned to the city and came to Ichijoji. I saw the Ichijoji Sagari Pine Tree, where it is said that Miyamoto Musashi had a duel with the Yoshioka school, but I didn't feel much in the residential area. While wandering around, I found a shop with a sign for natural yeast bread, so I killed time until it opened and entered as soon as it opened. The interior had a Southeast Asian atmosphere, exotic but calm. It felt more geared towards women. Although I was in a state where I didn't have any pictures or notes, I vaguely remember being able to choose from three options and having Vietnamese-style pho and rice. Especially in the cold outside, the soup was delicious. The store also sold clothing and additive-free snacks, with handmade mushroom-patterned children's clothing. Yojiro's friend seemed interested in it. I also bought cookies as a snack for my stroll and left the shop to walk around Kyoto. If I have the chance, I will go buy the bread that the shop recommended. Thank you for the meal.店のデータAOWTel: 050-1081-2835Business hours: [Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sun] 11:30-19:00 [Sat] 11:30-21:00 Closed on Wednesdays and the 3rd SundayAddress: 12-17 Haradono-cho, Ichijoji, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto

Located on the west side of Ichijoji Station, this shop offers bread and Asian food. It is situated on a corner building with a glass wall, allowing a clear view inside. The interior is decorated with various Asian goods, creating a lively atmosphere. I ordered a Kathmandu Chai and an Ice Bun. The Kathmandu Chai had a refreshing taste with a blend of spices like anise and cardamom, giving off a pleasant aroma. The Ice Bun was like a hot dog bun filled with ice cream, topped with mango and mint. The ice cream had a surprising coconut milk flavor, sandwiched between a chewy and firm bun that held it all together well. A delightful and unexpected treat!

I went to "AOW", a bread and rice shop, to buy sweets from Aurora Sweet. AOW turns into a bakery cafe run by the owner chef AKI's sister, Mutuco, every Wednesday and the third Sunday of the month. This was my second visit to AOW. The first visit, I will review below!!
They use "Hokkaido Clover Butter," "Sakura Eggs from Kyoto," and "Natural Cane Sugar" or "Brown Sugar" in their sweets. I had been wanting to try them for a while, but the idea of going on the third Sunday was a bit daunting. When I went in the evening, some items were already sold out.
The items I purchased were:
- Tea Scones: Baked to perfection, with a light tea aroma and fluffy texture. I really enjoyed this one.
- Pear Tart: A bit too light on sweetness for my taste. The crumble was delicious, but I prefer a bit more sweetness.
- Cocoa Masala Bar with Dried Fruits: This one also lacked sweetness, but I liked the hint of spices that made it unique.
- Aurora Biscotti: Another delicious treat with just the right amount of sweetness. Might not be satisfying for those who prefer very sweet desserts.
I often buy vegan sweets at handmade markets, so I enjoy this kind of less sweet treats. It depends on the maker, but I liked these ones. If I have a free schedule on the third Sunday again, I would like to visit AOW once more.
