Located in Okazaki, this restaurant offers delicious duck hot pot. Despite its humble appearance, the interior features tasteful tatami table seating (2 tables) and a counter (about 6 seats), creating a Kyoto-style dining experience. While the lunch menu highlights a special beef stew, you can also add it as an extra during dinner. We opted for the duck course, along with a serving of sashimi (red snapper, yellowtail) and charcoal-grilled Moroko. The Moroko was grilled to perfection over charcoal, allowing us to dip it in a vinegar-based sauce. The crispy texture of the Moroko, especially the head, was delightful. The sashimi was also fresh and presented beautifully in artisanal dishes. The duck hot pot was generously filled with duck meat, and although the broth was slightly light at first, it gradually developed a rich flavor. For the finale, we chose soba noodles over rice porridge. The drink prices were reasonable, and the variety of a la carte dishes made it tempting to return for a different dining experience. Overall, we discovered a gem of a restaurant.

I stopped by for lunch during my work break. It was my first time visiting during lunchtime. I had the beef tongue stew lunch. The stew had a good balance of tomato acidity, and the tongue was tender but with a nice texture. It was very delicious. The homemade dressing for the salad was also very tasty. I would like to try the duck simmered hamburger next time.

I visited for lunch and had the beef stew set meal for ¥1,200 (comes with salad, rice, and pickles). I found the stew to be quite salty, but with rice it was easier to eat. There were plenty of beef and vegetables in the stew, which was nice. The sweet Fukujinzuke was delicious. I think the stew would be easier to eat if the flavor was a bit milder.

I passed by this restaurant many years ago and always wanted to visit. The interior is very elegant, with a sophisticated owner and a refined lady, and a counter made of a single plank of wood. You can't go wrong with a place like this. It was my first time, so I tried the Tan Shichu, which I had been curious about for a while. Next time, I plan to order the Tempura that the gentleman next to me was eating. Everyone should definitely give it a try.

The duck course at Kamohiro offers firm and elastic duck meat with a satisfying texture. The duck in the photo is a single serving, providing a good amount of protein while being light and not overly filling. The consistent quality of the ingredients helps maintain the subtle flavor. The meal ends with a rice porridge to wrap up the dining experience.

And so, here comes Mr. Kamohiro again! Last time, I had the large portion of the beef tongue stew set, so this time, I decided to try the tempura set. It was a huge portion. Located on the south side of Higashioji-dori, just west of Demizu-dori.

I had Hayashi Rice for lunch. It was a classic type with a slight tanginess. The restaurant had a traditional Japanese atmosphere and was very clean. I'm curious about trying their Tempura and Beef Stew next time! I will definitely come back to eat here again!

Duck meat is amazing! If you want to relax during the hotpot season, be sure to try it. The soba noodles are exceptional too.

I rate this restaurant as 3.5 [Food/Flavor 3.5 | Service 3.5 | Atmosphere 3.5 | Value for Money 3.4 | Alcohol/Drinks -]. This review is based on my experience during lunch on a certain day. I stumbled upon this restaurant as I was turned away from another nearby establishment. The entrance had a nice atmosphere, so I decided to give it a try. Inside, there was a counter and seating area in the back. I was the first customer, seated right in front of the chef at the counter. The lunch menu offered three enticing options, but I was drawn to a sign advertising a limited quantity dish - the Duck Meat Hamburg Steak Set. The chef had a tough look, resembling a senior member of a yakuza film or a retired wrestler like Keiji Mutoh starting a Japanese restaurant. He was focused on cooking, while his wife prepared side dishes. The only sound in the restaurant was the air pump in the fish tank near the entrance. The silence added to the serene ambiance. The Duck Hamburg Steak Set arrived, starting with a fresh salad of sliced radish and lettuce with a delicious homemade dressing served in a chilled container. The main dish consisted of a generous portion of duck meat hamburg steak in demi-glace sauce with potatoes and carrots. The hamburg steak, made with duck meat mince, had a moist and tender texture, unlike traditional hamburg steaks. The sauce had a subtle sourness and classic flavor. The homemade pickles were also flavorful. The rice was slightly soft, complementing the meal. To finish, I mixed the remaining sauce with rice and pickles in a bowl. This well-rounded lunch set, priced at 1200 yen, was slightly expensive but worth every yen. As I thanked the chef before leaving, he responded with a surprisingly cheerful voice. After returning home, I checked the restaurant's website, which reflected the refined and balanced nature of the establishment. I look forward to visiting again for dinner.

This shop is located along a river and serves kaiseki cuisine at night, but offers three types of set meals for lunch. I tried two of them: - Tan Stew for 1200 yen: The Tan Stew, simmered slowly, was delicious. - Tempura with rice for 1000 yen: If you opt out of rice, you get a 100 yen discount. The tempura was a bit sticky and difficult to eat with the rice, which was a bit disappointing. The owner seemed quiet at first, but when I initiated conversation, he responded warmly. He mentioned that although they have become known for their duck hot pot, they actually offer a variety of dishes as they are originally a kaiseki restaurant. The menu indeed featured a variety of dishes, with a focus on seafood. I would like to try their duck hot pot in winter if I have the chance.

The atmosphere of this small restaurant gives off a very personal vibe. They have both traditional tatami seating and a counter, and I chose to sit at the counter. The menu offers options like beef tongue stew, hashed beef rice, tempura with rice. I chose the hashed beef rice, which came with a crispy cutlet on top. The cutlet was delicious and crispy. The portion size was quite large, especially since the plate looked big to me. It would have been nice to have a small salad on the side, even just a bite-sized one. I'm sure the hearty portion would satisfy male customers. I wonder what the restaurant is like at night. I'm curious. Thank you for the meal.

In the winter, I crave for dishes like crab, blowfish, and duck. I found a reasonably priced and delicious restaurant where I could enjoy these dishes. It is located near the Jingu Marutamachi Station, heading south on Kawabata Street, then turning east at the first traffic light for a few hundred meters on the right. They offer duck, small dishes, and tasty hot pot. You can also request other menu items for an additional charge if dining with multiple people. It's a cheap, friendly, and delicious restaurant. To finish off, they even put soba noodles in the hot pot. Perfect ending! It's a place I would like to visit again.

I was looking for a lunch spot in the Gosho area on Tabelog and came across this restaurant. Using my phone's GPS, I made my way to the restaurant but almost missed it. There were no signs on the road, making it easy to overlook even while driving past. The restaurant had space for two cars to park vertically in front of the garage. I arrived around noon and found that it was a traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant. The calm atmosphere was very pleasant. The restaurant had 7 counter seats and a few tables in the back tatami area. The lunch menu seemed to consist of only three items. I decided to order the Tan Stew Set for 1200 yen without hesitation. While waiting, I noticed a sports newspaper on the counter. Soon, another customer arrived, followed by a man and a group of four ladies. It seemed like the restaurant was run by a couple. I wondered if they also operated in the evenings. I love duck, so I would like to try their signature duck hot pot next time. After about 15 minutes of waiting, my meal was served. The set included salad, egg soup, fukujin pickles, rice, and the tan stew. The egg soup had a strong aroma of sesame, which was a new experience for me. The tan stew had large chunks of potatoes and carrots, along with thin slices of duck that provided a rich and delicious flavor. The salad was simple but satisfying. I also saw another customer enjoying a tempura dish, which looked appetizing. The customer seemed like a regular, as he asked for an extra bowl of rice without any mention on the menu. Overall, it was a delightful and indulgent lunch experience at this hidden gem of a restaurant where you can relax and enjoy your meal at your own pace.

I apologize for the outdated information, but the standard is 2 points. A friend named Watanabe guided me to a place with delicious food, so I took the Shinkansen to Kyoto. The rumored duck hot pot was too much for one person. The duck hot pot for shabu-shabu is delicious, but whether it's worth coming all the way to Kyoto on the Shinkansen is questionable. I'm sorry for the really old information. I uploaded all the photos I had taken over the New Year's holiday to Eatlog.

I wanted to challenge the nighttime duck hot pot, but couldn't make it. However, during lunchtime, while strolling around this area, I remembered how delicious the beef stew here was. The lunch menu includes options like beef stew, hashed beef rice, and tempura rice set, but this time I decided to go for the hashed beef rice (¥800). It was a satisfying dish at a reasonable price. The beef stew is also available at night, but for lunch, it is served with smaller cuts and a reduced portion for ¥1200. Still, it's filling enough. The rich demi-glace sauce with a hint of acidity and a touch of country miso-like flavor adds a Japanese twist to the stew served in a bowl. I realized that the nighttime duck hot pot and the lunch hashed beef rice are must-try dishes. Satisfied. In March 2010, amidst the unpredictable spring weather, I visited this restaurant. Despite the weather, many cherry blossom viewing tourists were walking around the area, and when I entered the restaurant around 11:30, I was the only one there, but it quickly filled up. The small interior means that if you sit at a large table, you'll likely be sharing it with others. I ordered the beef stew for lunch (¥1200). It took quite some time for the dish to arrive (about 20-25 minutes, I think). It's a stew dish, so the wait was expected, but eating alone among a crowd was a bit embarrassing (laughs). The egg soup with a thick texture had a subtle sesame fragrance. It leaned towards a Japanese style rather than a Chinese style egg soup. The dressing for the fresh vegetable salad, served in a ceramic container, was perhaps homemade. It was slightly sour but quite delicious. The main dish, beef stew, came in a large bowl. At first glance, it seemed to have chunks of carrots and potatoes. In reality, there were two large pieces each of potatoes and carrots. The potatoes were soft and fluffy, while the sweetness of the carrots complemented the demi-glace sauce perfectly! And hidden underneath the potatoes were thick slices of beef tongue, scattered throughout. The generous portion provided a satisfying meal, feeling luxurious. Despite the stormy weather outside, this lunch moment felt like a peaceful spring, warming both my heart and body.

The restaurant is actually a traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant, but it is famous for its specialty "duck hot pot". The curtain at the entrance displays "tempura" and "soba". The lunch menu includes tempura rice bowl for 1,000 yen, hashed beef rice for 800 yen, and tongue stew set for 1,200 yen. Although it is a Japanese restaurant serving Western-style lunch, I was intrigued and decided to give it a try. I arrived early on a weekday and was the first customer, so I could enjoy a leisurely meal. The hashed beef rice is highly recommended, but since I came from a far place, I opted to try the tongue stew. In about 10 minutes, a bowl of tongue stew, egg soup, vegetable salad, pickles, and rice were served. The vegetable salad is topped with a special dressing in a jar. The tongue stew has a slight sourness to it, which is unique and delicious. The tongue pieces are small but plentiful, tender, and flavorful. I finished every last bit of it, it was so delicious. As I was quietly enjoying my meal, a local regular customer came in. The conversation between the owner and the customer was heartwarming, showing the restaurant's strong ties to the community. The bald owner had a cute smile. I definitely want to come back next time to try their pride, the "duck hot pot", and maybe the hashed beef rice that caught my attention.
