ELK Kyoto Kawaramachi store Domestic Strawberry Pancake ¥1580 ELK used to have a store in Odaiba, but it has since closed. It has been a while since I last visited an ELK store. Upon entering the store, you immediately place your order at the counter. There is an eat-in space on the second floor, but the store is small and lacks partitions, which made me a little uneasy given the current situation. However, the taste of the pancakes was exceptional. This time, I tried the limited-time domestic Strawberry Pancake. The batter was not too sweet, and the fluffy pancakes come in a choice of 2, 3, or 4 layers. On top of the batter, there were plenty of sweet, pink strawberries in season, along with a generous amount of whipped cream and homemade strawberry jam. The strawberry jam had large chunks of strawberries, which melted into the whipped cream and batter, creating a delicious combination.

I would rate it close to 4.0, around 3.8. I tried the limited-time strawberry pancake, and it was delicious. The sweetness of the strawberries as toppings was strong, making it a perfect dessert. The cappuccino had latte art, making it perfect for social media. I deducted some points due to the lack of staff's attentiveness.

I ordered the pancake tiramisu, which had a fluffy and fizzy texture and was delicious. I had to order it at once and eat it on the second floor, but it was a bit cramped and difficult to move the chairs when there were two or more people. Other than that, it was a good restaurant.

I casually walked into a shop and ordered pancakes. They were surprisingly delicious! I have been to over 30 pancake shops, but this one is the best or second best! The pancakes were fluffy and incredibly tasty! My friends also loved them! For me, these are currently the number one pancakes!

I went there around 4 pm on Saturday. It was full, but I was able to get inside in about 10 minutes. It's a one order per person system. You can choose between 2 or 3 pancakes. I chose 2, but I found one to be enough and the second one was quite difficult to finish. I wish they sold them individually. I think it's smarter to order one pancake and two drinks, and then share them.

3D latte and Kyoto-exclusive pancakes. The pancakes have matcha egg white in them, and the cream is not too sweet. It can be quite painful if you leave it after finishing the hotcakes. Balance seems to be important.

Since the dough has been improved, I started going there more often. I love the fluffy thickness, the taste of eggs, and my favorite is the plain one with honey on top, but this time I tried the crème brûlée type. They also have savory options, so you can bring someone who doesn't like sweet things with confidence. The Eggs Benedict are also delicious.

I visited the restaurant because they had a cute pistachio pancake available only for Christmas, which caught my attention. I love pistachios, so I had high expectations! You can choose between 2 or 3 pancakes, with a discount of 100 yen for 2 pancakes. The Christmas pancake had pistachio in both the pancake batter and the cream on top. When it was brought to me, I was surprised! The actual pancake was different from the photo on the menu. The photo showed green pancakes with green cream swirling on top, but in reality, the cream was closer to white with a melted pistachio cream. The pancake was very soft and some might find it undercooked. The taste was quite eggy, with a subtle sweetness and a mild pistachio flavor. The texture was very meringue-like, which could be a hit or miss depending on personal preference.

This was also after club activities, the three close friends went to Elk to eat pancakes!! They ordered honey and whipped butter pancakes(^^) Even though it was quite new when they went, it wasn't crowded and they could sit down right away and the pancakes came quickly! The pancakes here were fluffy and delicious too~!

It was so fluffy!!! It was probably the best I've ever had! The milk tea came in a large mug full. The store has chairs on the 2nd floor and sofas on the 1st floor. The restroom is on the 2nd floor. Be prepared to wait a while after ordering pancakes.

I ordered the seasonal tiramisu and double chocolate banana cookie. The fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth pancakes were delicious!

This is a cafe that specializes in pancakes. It seems that there are several branches nationwide, but I have only used this branch. Therefore, there may be variations in the quality of the dishes depending on the branch, but this one is always delicious whenever I visit, and among the various pancakes I have tried, this is my favorite. It's also great that you can adjust the number of pancakes. The menu is extensive and I always have a hard time deciding. They seem to be quick to try trendy items, which may give the impression of being superficial, but here everything is really well done! It might be because they have to survive in that area, but the fact that they have been around for so long proves that, right?

I came here because I wanted to eat pancakes. The pancakes here are fluffy and you can easily eat three of them in no time.

It was surprisingly not crowded! The dish was bouncy and satisfying after a meal, but one plate was enough for three people, haha. I would like to try the regular flavors too.

Shrimp and avocado with onion cream sauce for 1480 yen each x 3. The bread dough was too sweet and not good for 4795 yen.

I visited the restaurant for a late lunch. There seemed to be only two staff members, and two groups were already waiting, so I was about to leave. However, they said there was already a table available and they could seat us right away. But we ended up waiting for about 20 minutes to be seated... Furthermore, it took about 20 minutes for the food to be served. I was very hungry, so waiting for 40 minutes to eat was disappointing. As for the food, I had a croque-monsieur. The pancake was fluffy and had green stuff mixed in with the ham. The pancake itself was delicious. However, the cheese on top of the ham was too rich, and I couldn't taste the green stuff. Everything besides the pancake was very salty. In the end, I couldn't finish it all. I would rate the pancake itself around 3.5 stars, but considering the menu and service, I would rate it -1.5 stars. Perhaps if I had gone expecting sweet or simple pancakes, I could have enjoyed it more?
