It's gentle and nostalgic. It reminds me of a cake shop I used to like, so I keep going back. The shortcake has a moist and light sponge with a lightly sweet cream that I enjoy. The crepe isn't my favorite in terms of the dough, but the custard and dark cherries inside are amazing! I wish they would make pies too, haha.

I went to buy the 230 yen crepe that I often see in reviews. I also bought the apple pie that has been catching my eye lately. The prices are quite cheap, but the cakes are generally small. The apple pie was delicious with lots of apples and a hint of cinnamon. The crepe was indeed cheap, but I think I had expectations that were too high.

I went shopping on Saturday and stopped by a charming little cozy shop. I bought a mini crepe, a nut tart, a blueberry mousse cake, and some baked goods. You can eat inside the shop, but I got them to go. The Crepe au Trois was delicious with its thin, chewy crepe filled with custard cream and dark cherries. The custard wasn't too sweet, just the right balance. The nut tart had a sturdy crust and tasty nuts. The Blueberry Mousse brought back nostalgic flavors. The most popular Mini Crepe was indeed delicious. It made me feel warm and happy. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Tomute-san after visiting five other places. I really like the crepes at Tomute-san. The creamy and sweet cream with a rich flavor, along with the dark cherries, create a perfect harmony. I could eat as many of these as I want. And the fact that they are only 230 yen is just amazing, especially when other places are charging around 400 yen nowadays. I initially wanted to give a modest rating, but I decided to give it 4.0 stars because I really like it! When I approached the shop, I saw the owner taking a break on a chair near the showcase. I appreciate that they are open late at night, but I hope they don't overwork themselves. I want to continue enjoying their delicious crepes in the future.

■Visit Date: January 31, 2018 ■Items Received: - Souffle Fromage (Me) - Tranche Blueberry (Wife) ■MEMO Visited on January 31, 2018. The shop is located on the west side of Gojo-Nishidoin, and has been a long-standing establishment since 1986. It's great that they are open until 9pm. The interior of the shop also has a seating area. Today, my wife mentioned it was "131" (Beloved Wife's Day) and suggested having cake, so we visited after work. It's convenient as it's on our way home. I had the soft and fluffy Souffle Fromage (cheesecake), and I was hooked. There were many other cakes available, so I would like to try some different ones next time. ■Blog http://ay-style.net/?p=29092

I always have a Bûche de Noël for Christmas. It's cute and perfect for Instagram. The mushrooms on top are very sweet and delicious. Inside, there is chocolate sponge with bananas. It's just right for about 5 or 6 people.

As a crepe lover, I was curious about this place, but it seemed a bit far from Kyoto Station, which was my starting point. I was planning to have dinner in Gojo, but I arrived a bit late, so I decided to stop by here to pass the time. There was an eat-in space, but I felt a bit hesitant to visit at night, so I opted for takeout only. The atmosphere of the shop and the cakes inside the showcase had a nostalgic, old-fashioned feel, with a lot of white parts (whipped cream). I anticipated that I wouldn't be able to go home right away, so I only bought the Crepe O'Sleaze. When I placed my order, the staff went to the back to prepare something. Although there were still about three left in the case...? Did they go out of their way to wrap a new one for me? When I tried it, I found a soft crepe folded around a generous amount of custard cream. It allowed me to fully savor the cream, and the presence of the crepe enhanced the experience. The cream was soft and rich, just as I had imagined, and it made me happy. The subtle acidity of the dark cherries was perfectly balanced. While I wasn't particularly drawn to the appearance of the other cakes, this crepe was the perfect snack. At 230 yen, it was also very affordable, and in terms of value for money, it outshines Poire Poire in Kyoto. They are open until 9 pm, so if it were closer, I would come here often to buy this treat.

I was actually planning to have tea and cake here, but I found a cafe nearby so I decided to get takeout instead. I got a Gâteau Fruity (370 yen), Crêpe au Sucre (230 yen), Chou à la Crème (190 yen), and Gâteau Chocolat (320 yen). All prices include tax, which is very reasonable. When I got home, I took them out of the box, laid them out on the table, and compared the flavors. They were all standard and straightforward, nothing too fancy. The Crêpe au Sucre was the most delicious! They also have a parking lot, so next time I think I'll dine in!

I noticed the "Ginjo Ramen Kubota" while biking furiously in the past. I didn't stop by that day, but visited today (5/28). The eat-in space is quite spacious, that was my first impression. The variety of cakes is plentiful and overall quite cheap. Even the most expensive ones were only up to 500 yen. In Kyoto, cake prices are becoming standard around 600 yen. When I asked the elderly owner for recommendations, he suggested the seasonal items and crepes, so I ordered a crepe for 230 yen and a mille-feuille for 370 yen. It was Mother's Day that day, which didn't concern me, but they added a rose. Many people might think it's a carnation, but actually in Europe, it's a rose. However, it's not very common in Japan at this time of year due to the heat. As for my impression, rather than cutting-edge sweets, it feels more like a delicious local cake shop. I would add that the mille-feuille is quite cost-effective at this price. The crispiness is outstanding.

I found a cake shop in Kyoto, Gojo, called "Nokisaki Market". It was a cute shop at a handmade market event. I had imagined a cake shop run by a lady resembling Mitsushima Hikari, but it turned out to be a shop run by a gentleman resembling Ito Shiro. The mille-feuille was like a picture-perfect dessert, a bit challenging to eat but delicious. The blueberry mousse had a refreshing and simple taste. Despite the initial confusion, I appreciated the gentle and meticulous work put into the cakes. Next time I visit, I wonder if Ito Shiro will turn into someone like Richard Gere (laughs).

I forgot to write about it, but last Sunday when I went to DAR and TSUTAYA, I stopped by "Tomute" and bought some cakes. Whenever I come to this area, I always think about stopping by, but I always end up giving up because my shopping bags are full and I lose the motivation to go. So, it's been about 4-5 years since my last visit. It's located just off the main street, with a parking lot in front, so if you don't know about it, you might just pass by. DAR, who was ahead of me, also missed it and went quite far. Inside, there is a showcase right away, and it's a small, family-run cake shop that feels like a neighborhood place. The prices are reasonable and the sizes are small, so you can choose one at a time. DAR also felt like buying a second one. He got the Souffle Fromage (200 yen) which was light in flavor and didn't have a strong cheese taste, so it was a bit lacking for DAR who prefers rich cheesecakes. He also got the Crepe au Sucre (220 yen) which had plenty of not-too-sweet custard and he said it was delicious. I got the Tranche Blueberry (300 yen) with a sweet meringue cream on top and a generous amount of tangy blueberry mousse inside. I also got the Gateau Fromage (300 yen) which was moist and quite light in cheesecake flavor. Later, I realized they both had blueberries. We both prefer richer cheesecakes, so these were a bit light for us, but we still managed to finish both of them quickly. The calories must be quite high though. Address: 505 Koyagicho, Nishinotoindori Yomeishita, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City 075-341-7433 Opening hours: 10:00-21:00 Closed on Tuesdays

I used this cafe when I came to Kyoto for work. It's a bit far from the station and in a somewhat remote location, but there is a parking lot so it's not a problem if you come by car. This time, I bought Gâteau Fruity for 350 yen: a strawberry and cream cake, and Fuyu for 300 yen, which is a mousse made with white chocolate. Gâteau Fruity is a standard shortcake with plenty of strawberries in the layers, so I was very satisfied. Fuyu has a slightly cheese-like taste. It's a mousse, so it has a good melt-in-your-mouth texture, and I prefer this one. The cakes are generally small, but the prices are reasonable and easy to purchase. There are about 8 seats in the cafe space, so you can relax and unwind in the shop. When I visited, it seemed like the shop owner's child was playing in the cafe space. I would like to come back to this shop again.

Nama Cream Roll Cake at Tomute for 1000 yen. Tomute, located in Nishitoin Gojo, opened in 1986 and underwent a renovation in 2004. Tomute is the name of an old man fairy. The cake is moist, soft, and fluffy with a crumbly texture. It has a gentle sweetness and the cream has a strong taste of Western liquor. The overall taste is a balance of richness and sweetness, but it feels light. The sweetness is mellow with a hint of alcohol. It's a light treat that you can enjoy easily.

I was invited to a birthday party of a female colleague from work, so I decided to prepare a surprise birthday cake during the party at an izakaya. However, I had no idea where to buy a cake as I have no connection with cakes at all. Then I remembered that there was a cake shop along the way to the Gyokusen Ramen Kubota from the office. I went to the shop the day before the party to make a reservation. The shop was not crowded as it was around 7 pm on a weekday. I ordered a decoration cake with whipped cream for the birthday, and also requested a message on it. When I tried to pay in advance, the owner, a sincere-looking man, politely refused and asked for payment upon delivery. The shop had a cozy and warm atmosphere, with a café space inside. On the day of the party, the birthday girl was very happy. After blowing out the candles, we all enjoyed the cake together, and it was delicious. The cream was light, the sponge was fluffy, and the sweetness was pleasantly mild. The way the fruits were arranged and the decoration of the cream showed attention to detail. I stumbled upon this shop by chance while going to a ramen restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. If I ever need to buy a cake again, I will definitely visit this shop without hesitation.

△ Focus ▽ Food > Ambiance △ Food ▽ ★★★☆☆The cakes are around 370 yen each, and even though they are small, they are wallet-friendly and delicious. I couldn't resist having two! △ Ambiance ▽ ★★☆☆☆The walls are a light pink color, I think. There are two four-seater tables and around 7 or 8 seats at the counter. It seems like regulars enjoy chatting with the owner at the counter while enjoying cake and tea. △ Exterior ▽ ★★☆☆☆It has a low-key appearance, like a hidden gem in a normal house. △ Staff ▽ ★★★★★The warmth of the staff makes the place very welcoming. I definitely want to come back. They even kindly gave me a mask when I was suffering from hay fever. Thank you so much!
