Kyoto is a place where every shop is trendy, and I took a chance and ended up at this yakiniku restaurant. Luckily, it was full right after we got in. We ordered draft beer, red wine, highball, sashimi platter (tongue, heart, intestines), top tongue, hoso, top mino, garlic foil grill, and more. The chef, who seemed a bit intimidating, skillfully and gently sliced the sashimi with a sharp knife, which was wonderful to watch. The staff was mostly lively and friendly, although there was one person who seemed quite unfriendly, which was a bit strange. Anyway, moving on to the sashimi. It may not come across in the photos, but it was truly beautiful. The presentation of the raw meat was a stark contrast to the noisy atmosphere of the restaurant! Each piece was delicious, whether with salt and sesame oil or dipping sauce. Personally, I found the heart sashimi to be the most delicious. My companion is quite sensitive to the smell of meat, but even they said the heart here was delicious. We also grilled the tongue, cooked the hormones, and sandwiched garlic in between. The hoso had a good amount of fat and is best enjoyed without removing too much of it. Although I really wanted rice, I resisted the temptation. The spicy sauce on the table was also well-made and paired perfectly with the meat. We ordered all the meat with salt this time, but it might be worth trying with sauce next time. The bill came to ¥8500 for two people. For this location and quality, there's absolutely nothing to complain about! It was a great experience!
