Actually, I have been regularly stopping by Nakashima Island. However, my purpose is to swim at the pool in front of Fushimi Port Park near the station, so I haven't reviewed any places in this area yet. To burn off the alcohol and cholesterol accumulated in my body due to my dulled body in my forties and the side effects of Tabelog (?), I swim at least once a week for 1 hour, totaling 1-1.5km. There are plenty of bars lined up in the area stretching north from Nakashima Island North Exit to Teradaya, famous for Ryoma. A cold beer after sports is exceptional, but since the calories I consumed are wasted, I usually resist temptation and quickly head back home. However, on this day, after swimming for about 2 hours in the afternoon during the Bon holidays, it was just the right time in the evening. Sometimes exceptions are good too, so I headed to Tokidokoya Stand Nakashima Store. However, it was not yet open due to the early time. I had already spotted a signboard indicating that Ebisu beer could be enjoyed for 300 yen beyond the FamilyMart, so I entered without prior information. It was open from 17:00, and I became the first customer early in the opening. The space was even smaller than Shurakuza near Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit where I had visited before, with a counter to the right from the entrance, and the owner managing it alone. I promptly ordered the Ebisu beer I was looking for. The 300 yen size was small, and the 500 yen size was medium. As the first customer early in the opening, perhaps due to the Bon season or the early time, there were no other customers afterwards. I opened the Ebisu beer to replenish my fluids after swimming, and then I switched to Kashiyama Tsuru Namazake Junmai for 300 yen. Established in 1725 (Kyoho 10), the 9th generation, the brewery representing the local Tango, has been winning awards every year at the International Sake Challenge in recent years. I had drunk it at Osaka Temma and Kitayoshi, so this is also a good deal for a 300 yen cup. Let's order some snacks as well. Several side dishes are lined up on the counter. Among them, the dashimaki (300 yen) caught my eye, so I ordered it, and they warmed it up in the microwave. Kashiyama Tsuru Namazake Junmai and this dashimaki create the best marriage, bringing out the best in each other. I had a conversation with the owner. He mentioned that he is not familiar with PCs but is aware of Tabelog, and some customers come after seeing reviews. We talked about old stories of Nakashima Island, which overlap with Gobancho. Originally, this place used to be a detached room or a tatami room from the sushi restaurant the landlord used to run, but it was renovated and opened. Hearing the determination of the owner, who started a standing bar despite being a teetotaler, made me want to visit again.
