Nanjakorya. My image of sweet potato yokan has changed. The sweet potato presence is strong here! The sweetness is just right. Moist and delicious. It's like a Western confection but also like a Japanese confection? What am I even saying (laughs)? It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

When I went to Joyo, I was looking forward to trying the Hi Cheese Manju for around 160 yen, a cute Japanese confectionery with eye-catching packaging. Since my whole family loves Japanese sweets and cheese, we were excited to try it. I also bought some new tea since I came all the way to Joyo, but this product actually went better with coffee. The outside is sweet, and the inside has a smooth cheese cream with a balanced acidity, creating a well-rounded steamed bun. It made me think that Japanese confectionery makers these days are really coming up with various ideas.

This is a product from Kyoto's sweet shop, Matsuya. It's a tofu sweet called "Umaimon," and this time I chose the matcha flavor. When it comes to Kyoto's traditional sweets, I always go for the matcha series. The design is also inspired by the color of tea. Now, let's see what it looks like inside. Wow, at first glance, it looks like tofu, doesn't it? Maybe a bit harsh to say that. (laughs) It's cut into two pieces for easy eating. As for the inside, it seems to be filled with anko paste. When you taste it, you can feel the matcha flavor. It has a refined taste, with a hint of Uji aroma. It was a pleasant eating experience. 【Blog: Pureguru】http://pureguru.blog9.fc2.com/blog-entry-711.html

I used JR Nagaike Station, and while exploring the area, I found a charming Japanese sweets shop and decided to go in. Inside the shop, there were a variety of sweets that looked like something my mother would enjoy, and they seemed perfect to pair with delicious tea. I ended up buying some.

In October 2013, I went on a drive with my grandpa and decided to stop by a nearby Japanese sweets shop. Unfortunately, they didn't have ohagi as it was only available during the equinoctial week and by reservation. However, they had a variety of daifuku available, including chestnut, strawberry, sweet bean paste, and sweet potato flavors. I bought chestnut daifuku and strawberry daifuku, as well as some chestnut red rice. When we got back home, my grandpa enjoyed the sweet potato daifuku the most, savoring the aroma of sweet potatoes in the thin skin. He also happily devoured the strawberry daifuku with sweet bean paste. It's a great Japanese sweets shop. In July 2013, I saw seasonal Japanese sweets displayed in front of a shop in Kyoto, a common sight in traditional Japanese sweets shops in Kyoto. During this season, chestnut red rice is the main attraction on the shop's signboard. It made me crave it. While wandering around, I bought ohagi as a souvenir for my grandpa. The shop had a solid and traditional vibe. The shop was located a bit far from Uji, but Kyoto's Japanese sweets are delicious.

I received a very elegant Japanese confectionery as a souvenir. It's a set of "Cheese Manju Hai Cheese" and "Rich Matcha Sweet Potato Fragrant" from Matsuya. The "Hai Cheese" has an almond-flavored dough wrapped around cream cheese and baked to perfection. The cream cheese is incredibly soft and creamy. The "Rich Matcha Sweet Potato Fragrant" is super rich! It uses high-grade Uji matcha blended by a tea connoisseur. The deep green color with red beans sprinkled on top adds a nice touch. The collaboration of bitterness and sweetness is irresistible. Thank you for always providing delicious treats. Thank you for the meal.
