I enjoyed authentic Kyoto cuisine, such as the delicious eel shabu-shabu which is unique to Kyoto. Every dish was delightful, showcasing the excellence of this longstanding Kyoto establishment. While tastes and preferences may change over time, this restaurant has stayed true to its traditional roots. It's refreshing to see a place that preserves its heritage amidst the evolving culinary landscape.

In early September, I made a reservation to experience the riverside dining. I booked the "Kamogawa Gozen" for 6,830 yen. However, it was too hot to dine by the river, so we ended up eating indoors. The tempura, conger eel hot pot, and simmered dishes were all excellent. The staff, both young and elderly, were friendly and attentive. I hope to visit again on a cooler night and dine by the river next time.笑

I had Kyoto cuisine at a riverside terrace along the Kamogawa River! The approach to the entrance was long, and beyond that was the terrace seating. It felt like the resting place of an eel! Apparently, Kibune is called "kawadoko" and here is called "kawayuka" due to the difference in height from the water surface. The view was truly elegant! After drinking some alcohol, I couldn't quite remember the explanations of the dishes, but they all looked beautiful and tasted delicious! The appetizer, roast beef, and simmered dishes were all amazing. The sashimi of hamo and tai were served on fancy plates. The cold eggplant dish was also delicious. Unfortunately, we had to move indoors due to thunder and a sudden evening shower, which dampened the mood a bit. The grilled dishes of ayu and hamo were fantastic. We enjoyed rice with pickles in conger eel broth. For dessert, we had ice cream, watermelon, and warabi mochi, which were all delightful. The cold eggplant dish was particularly delicious! It was a unique experience with Kyoto-like atmosphere and cuisine. Thank you for the wonderful time!

The seating by the shady riverbed was lovely, and the attentive service made the experience enjoyable. The meal was flavorful and really captured the essence of the season. I would love to come back again. I was a bit hesitant about having hot tofu in the hot weather, but it turned out to be delicious and I didn't mind at all.

I wanted a light lunch and made a reservation for my first visit because there was a private room with a view of the Kamogawa River. The building had a historical charm from the entrance. I was satisfied with being seated in the private room with a view of the river as expected. While there was nothing in the dishes that made me want to eat them again, I think the price and atmosphere were reasonable.

I used this restaurant for a reception. In the summer, they have a riverside dining area. The atmosphere, including the entrance, is excellent. The food is delicious in a normal way, with sufficient portion sizes. However, it didn't leave a lasting impression. I didn't like the soy sauce for the sashimi. Maybe it's because of the pandemic, but I was a bit bothered by the service that felt like they just served the food and drinks and left.

I visited this place for dinner even though it was the end of October and they were still operating with a cool flooring system. It was too cold to sit outside, but we were able to enjoy our meal in a private room with a view of the Kamo River. The private room was much appreciated during the pandemic, and the staff were very kind. The steamed hot pot was delicious.

I used it for lunch. It was the perfect season, so we sat on the cool floor seating. The view along the Kamo River was beautiful and very pleasant. However, it was quite hot outside during the day, so after about 10 minutes, we moved indoors where the air conditioning was working well. The Kyoto-style dishes were very beautiful and delicious. The portions were generous and we were very full. In particular, the conger eel shabu-shabu hot pot was delicious. I would like to try going at night next time.

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, I refrained from going out for drinks this month, but I did attend one drinking party in March in Kyoto's Kiyamachi area. The entrance was a bit hard to find, but once inside, I could feel the Kyoto vibe. It's a popular place, but it seemed quite empty due to the coronavirus. The staff were very friendly and chatty, which made the experience enjoyable. The food was standard kaiseki cuisine, and I particularly enjoyed the appetizers. I went to Kawadoko at Umemura in Sanjo Kiyamachi. It's midsummer, but the breeze from the Kamo River makes it bearable. We started with a toast with beer, followed by appetizers, hassun, and sashimi. Suddenly, a summer shower came down, and everyone, staff, and customers, worked together to seek shelter indoors. It turned out to be a fun experience. Whether on the riverside or indoors, the atmosphere was fantastic as we enjoyed delicious kaiseki cuisine. It was truly a wonderful night in Kyoto.

I have had banquets here a few times in the past. This time, I revisited after over ten years to watch the Kamogawa dance performance. The weather forecast predicted rain, but luckily we were able to enjoy the cool atmosphere of the open-air seating. The food was delicious, but nothing particularly outstanding, just typical Kyoto cuisine. I came this time to enjoy the open-air seating, so I was satisfied with that. The seasoning was light and enjoyable. And of course, when in Kyoto, you must try the conger eel! It was a great experience to enjoy conger eel shabu-shabu while overlooking the Kamo River. I would love to try the evening veranda experience as well, which seems more upscale and exclusive compared to lunch.

We rented a private riverside terrace! The portion was generous and the food was delicious! The sun was strong, so we moved to the shade of the cherry blossom trees in the second half. The kind landlady was also there!
