Fukuchiyama is located in Ikeda district, along National Route 9. If you drive about 2km towards Kyoto from Rokuninbu Middle School, you will see the restaurant on your right. There are parking lots on both sides of the restaurant, with the north side having gravel without dividers and space for about 6-8 cars. The south side is paved with dividers and space for about 10 cars, making it easy to use by car. As for public transportation, there is a JR bus stop "Tamba Ikeda" nearby, but there are only 5 buses a day, so it's inconvenient. Upon entering the restaurant, there is a dining area on the left with 7 four-person tables. In the back, separated by a wall, there is a sunroom-like space with about 3 two-person tables. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you can smell cigarette smoke, so it seems smoking is allowed. When looking at the menu, they offer yakisoba, tonkatsu, hamburger steak set meals, as well as curry, napolitan, meat sauce, omurice, and other classic cafe menu items. They also have lunch menus with options like fried chicken and shrimp fry. I ordered the omurice. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes. The sauce was demi-glace, which I liked more than ketchup. The rice wrapped in egg was chicken rice with ketchup flavor. I always think that ketchup-flavored chicken rice surprisingly goes well with demi-glace sauce. Personally, I quite like this combination. The texture of the onions was crunchy and refreshing. The demi-glace was sweet, appealing to children. A small salad was also included on the plate, with cabbage that tasted rich. The portion of the omurice was a bit small, but it was just right for me as I wasn't feeling well that day. The total cost was 800 yen including tax, which felt a bit high considering the portion size. However, the customers coming in one after another were all locals, creating a friendly atmosphere. It seems like a local gathering place. I have chronic bronchitis so I won't be able to visit again, but for those who smoke, this may be a valuable restaurant where smoking is allowed. The cafe restaurant offers a variety of lunch menu items at affordable prices. Locals definitely frequent this place. This time, I hesitated but decided to try the hamburger lunch. It was delicious.
